Risk of electric shock

This symbol indicates arisk of electric shock

from touching product parts carrying hazardous

voltage.

This symbol is used to indicate safety instructions

or to draw your attention to specichazards

and risks.

•The product is intended for private, non-

commercial use only.

•The product is intended only for use inside

buildings.

•Use the product only for the intended purpose.

•Children must not play with the device.

•Protect the product from dirt, moistureand

overheating and use it in dry environments only.

•The product must only be operated on asupply

network as described on the type plate.

•The surge arrester must only be operated on

amains socket with 16A fuse and aproperly

installed protective earth.

•Donot connect to extension cables, tabletop

sockets or adapters.

•Route all cables so that thereisnorisk of tripping.

•Donot bend or crush the cable.

•Never connect multiple units of this product

in series.

•Always pull directly on the plug when

disconnecting the cable, never on the cable itself.

•Donot continue to operate the product if it is

visibly damaged.

•Ifthe device is used commercially,increased duty

of carerequirements apply.

•Therefore, please observe the accident prevention

regulations of the German employer’sliability

insurance association for electrical systems and

equipment. Please also observe all accident

prevention regulations from other applicable

employer’sliability insurance associations and

accident insurance companies, as well as any

legal regulations applicable to the particular

industry and/or location.

•Donot use the product in the immediate vicinity

of heaters, other heat sources or in direct

sunlight.

•Only use the article under moderate climatic

conditions.

•Aswith all electrical products, this device should

be kept out of the reach of children.

•Donot operate the product outside the power

limits specied in the technical data.

•Donot use the product in areas in which

electronic products arenot permitted.

•Donot use the product in adamp environment

and avoid splashing water.

•Donot drop the product and do not expose it to

any major shocks.

•Donot modify the product in any way.Doing so

voids the warranty.

•Keepthe packaging material out of the reach of

children due to the risk of suffocation.

•Dispose of packaging material immediately

in accordance with the locally applicable

regulations.

Risk of electric shock

•Donot open the device or continue to operate

it if it becomes damaged.

•Donot use the product if the

AC adapter,the adapter cable or the mains

cable aredamaged.

•Donot attempt to service or repair the product

yourself.Leave any and all service work to

qualied experts.

4. Correct use

The installed surge arrester is designed for

mains-related voltage surges caused by switching

operations or distant lightning strikes. Additional

measures must be taken to protect against direct

lightning strikes. Coarse protection (requirement

clause) must be provided in the house installation.

The main purpose is to protect high-quality

telephone systems /computer systems and audio /

video /satellite devices.
