Side 1/2
Take the poles out of the stuff sack and help the shockcord
to assemble them.
Caution: It damages the poles if you let the
shockcord snap/whack the sections together.
Unroll the tent and spread it out. If there’s a wind, stake
down the end of the tent that’s
into
the wind before adding
poles. Compare your tent to the overhead view drawing
(upper left) so you’re oriented for the next directions.
The Streamside’s poles cross each other twice. So, for
instance, pole A starts and ends on the same side of the tent.
To help you find your way, the clip webs are color-coded
(and reflective).
Put both ends of a pole into its corner grommets. Then lean
the pole over and clip it in.
Do the same for the other pole.
Stake the tent down!

Notes and Tips
If you pitch the tent in a wind, anchor the tent before you put poles in. To prevent lift-off, use all stake
loops and both side guyouts. Equipment inside a tent won’t hold it down in winds of 25mph or more.
Many tents have been destroyed by unexpected winds rolling them away with a lot of gear inside!
Fire near your tent is a no-no. Your tent can burn. Never cook in your tent or use candles for light inside.

A good trick is to tie a small rock on to the stake
loop about a foot away from the tent. Then put
a big rock on top of the cord and pull it back
against the small rock (left). This method pulls
tents out taut and doesn’t lift the tent off the
ground as does tying directly to a large rock (right).
Most people put the stake well into a tent’s stakeloop as they pull the tent out and push the stake into the
ground. This loses some of the tension you put on the tent. Instead, pull out the stakeloop with just the tip
of the stake in the loop. This keeps the tent fully taut as you push the stake in the ground.
If you’ve ever wondered: “We put a man on the moon—so how come I can’t get a tent stake that’ll hold
up?” We have a stake for you: our Kelty Nobendium™ tent stakes. They are amazingly strong and
durable without weighing any more than a regular stake. We would have loved to have given you a
bunch of these but they cost about $1.50 each so we thought it should be a decision for you to make
(rather than forcing the tent price up). Call us and we'll put you in touch with your nearest dealer.
To minimize UV damage from the sun, don’t keep tent set up for long periods of time or when not in use.
