and precautions to take as you use the device.
xKeep your mobile phone and its accessories out of the
reach of children and pets.
xMaintain your mobile phone in dry conditions and keep it
within normal operating temperatures. It may be damaged
at temperatures higher than 55°C/131°F or lower than

occur and cause an explosion or fire.
xDo not use or store your mobile phone in dusty, dirty areas.
xDo not disassemble your mobile phone.
xDo not drop or cause severe impact to your mobile phone.
xDo not clean your mobile phone with chemical products,
cleaning solvents or detergents.

accessories. Any malfunction or damage caused by the
use of unauthorized batteries, battery chargers and
accessories will void the limited product warranty.
xEnsure that the battery and the battery charger do not
come in contact with conductive objects.
xFor optimal performance, use cases and accessories that
do not contain magnets.
Safety precautions
xUsing a mobile phone while driving is prohibited.
xUsing a mobile phone while driving can distract your
attention and cause an accident. Always switch your phone
off to drive safely.
xIn an emergency, use a hands-free device built into your car
or pull over in a safe place first.
xCheck local laws and regulations and comply with them,
with regard to the prohibition of mobile phone use while
driving.
Switch off in restricted areas
Always switch your phone off in areas where mobile phone use
is restricted.
Switch off in an aircraft
Always switch your phone off or select the airplane mode
(Tap > > ) when Settings Wireless & networks Airplane mode
you are in an aircraft. Electromagnetic waves emitted by your
phone may affect the electronic navigation equipment in the
aircraft.
Switch off in hospitals and near medical
equipment
Always switch your phone off in hospitals and obey their
regulations. Switch your phone off when using medical
equipment for private purposes. Always consult with the
medical equipment’s manufacturer or an expert regarding
phone use near the medical equipment.
4
Important Safety Information
Switch off in dangerous areas
Always switch your phone off in areas where explosive or
dangerous materials (e.g. fuels or chemical products) are
located and obey relevant instructions or signals. Do not insert
or remove your mobile phone’s battery in such areas.
Install a hands-free device in a safe location
Install a hands-free device away from the steering wheel and
airbag expansion areas. Otherwise you can be injured in a car
accident.
Keep away from other electronic devices
Mobile phones emit electromagnetic waves that may affect
nearby electronic devices. After switching on your phone, do
not place it close to other electronic goods.
About the battery usage
Your phone is powered by a Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) battery. In
other words, you can recharge your battery while some charge
remains without reducing your phone’s autonomy due to the
“battery memory effect.”
xDo not use a damaged battery or charger.
xDo not disassemble, open crush, bend, deform, puncture or
shred the battery.
xDo not modify or remanufacture, insert foreign objects into
the battery, immerse or expose to water or other liquids,
expose to fire, explosion or other hazard.
xDo not put your battery in contact with conductive objects.
xDispose of and recycle used batteries in accordance with
local regulations. Do not dispose of batteries by burning;
they may explode.
xDo not use an unauthorized charger or battery.
xUse the battery only for the device for which it is specified.
xUse the battery with a charging device that has been
qualified for the device per this standard. Use of an
unqualified battery or charger may present a risk of fire,
explosion, leakage, or other hazard.
xDo not short circuit a battery or allow metallic conductive
objects to contact battery terminals.
xReplace the battery only with another battery that has
been qualified with the device per this standard, IEEE-
Std-1725-2006.
xChildren should be supervised when they use the battery.
xAvoid dropping the phone or the battery. If the phone or
the battery is dropped, especially on a hard surface, and
the user suspects damage, take it to a service center for
inspection.
xUse your battery for the specified purpose only.
xThe closer you move to your network’s base station, the
longer you can use your phone because less battery power
is required for connection.
xThe battery recharging time varies depending on the
remaining battery capacity and the battery and charger
type.
xBattery life inevitably shortens over time.
xSince overcharging may shorten battery life, remove the
phone from its charger once it is fully charged. Unplug the
charger once charging is complete. Leaving the battery
in hot or cold places, especially inside a car in summer or
winter, may reduce its capacity and life.
xTo prevent injury or burns, ensure that no metal objects
come into contact with the + and – terminals of the battery.

Appendix
The wireless telephone industry has developed a rating system
for wireless phones, to assist hearing device users find phones
that may be compatible with their hearing devices. Not all
phones have been rated. Phones that are rated have the rating
on their boxes or a label located on the boxes.
The ratings are not guarantees. Results will vary depending
on the user’s hearing device and hearing loss. If your hearing
device happens to be vulnerable to interference, you may not
be able to use a rated phone successfully. Trying out the phone
with your hearing device is the best way to evaluate it for your
personal needs.
xM-Ratings: Phones rated M3 or M4 meet FCC requirements
and are likely to generate less interference to hearing
devices than phones that are not labeled. M4 is the better/
higher of the two ratings.
xT-Ratings: Phones rated T3 or T4 meet FCC requirements
and are likely to generate less interference to hearing
devices than phones that are not labeled. T4 is the better/
higher of the two ratings.
Hearing devices may also be rated. Your hearing device
manufacturer or hearing health professional may help you
find this rating. Higher ratings mean that the hearing device is
relatively immune to interference noise. The hearing aid and
wireless phone rating values are then added together. A sum
of 5 is considered acceptable for normal use. A sum of 6 is
considered for best use.
In the above example, if a hearing aid meets the M2 level rating
and the wireless phone meets the M3 level rating, the sum of
the two values equals M5. This is synonymous for T ratings.
This should provide the hearing aid user with “normal usage”
while using their hearing aid with the particular wireless phone.
“Normal usage” in this context is defined as a signal quality that
is acceptable for normal operation.
The M mark is intended to be synonymous with the U mark.
The T mark is intended to be synonymous with the UT mark.
The M and T marks are recommended by the Alliance for
Telecommunications Industries Solutions (ATIS). The U and
UT marks are referenced in Section 20.19 of the FCC Rules. The
HAC rating and measurement procedure are described in the
American National Standards Institute (ANSI) C63.19 standard.
To ensure that the Hearing Aid Compatibility rating for
your phone is maintained, secondary transmitters such as
Bluetooth and WLAN components must be disabled during a
call. See page 67 for instructions to disable these components.
This phone has been tested and rated for use with hearing
aids for some of the wireless technologies that it uses.
However, there may be some newer wireless technologies
used in this phone that have not been tested yet for use with
hearing aids. It is important to try the different features of
this phone thoroughly and in different locations, using your
hearing aid or cochlear implant, to determine if you hear any
interfering noise. Consult your service provider about its return
and exchange policies and for information on hearing aid
compatibility.
