Your Secret Voice Recorder

Getting started

Batteries should be installed by

an adult or under close

adult supervision.

Use a Phillips-head screwdriver

to loosen the screw on the

battery compartment and lift

off the cover. The screw will

remain in the cover.

Remove any old batteries (if

applicable) and install two

new 3-volt CR2032 coin cell

batteries. Pay close attention

to the batteries’ polarities (see

diagram). Close the battery

compartment and tighten the screw using the

screwdriver.

Your secret voice recorder is ready for use!

How Your Voice Recorder Works

Your secret voice recorder comes with two

keycards. One must be in the device in order for it

to record, and the other is a spare. Give it to your

parent or another adult so that they can put it

somewhere safe.

To make a recording, slide the keycard into the slot

on the side, making sure that the card is inserted in

the direction of the arrow imprinted on the card.

To start recording, press the red button on the top

of your secret message recorder. You will hear

a short beep sound, after which you can begin

recording. Press the button again to stop recording,

and you will hear the device beep two times. Your

recordings can be up to 60 seconds. At 60 seconds,

the recording will automatically finish, and you will

hear the device beep two times.

Attention: Any time you press the record button

while the keycard is in the secret message

recorder, the old recording will be overwritten

with the new one.

Thread the armband through the two slots in

the attachment clip so that the fuzzy side faces

outward. Then wrap it around your wrist or upper

arm, securing it in place by folding over the band

so that the rough side sticks to the fuzzy side of the

velcro strap. Then, attach the recorder to the clip

by placing the bottom of the recorder on the clip

and turning it until it locks into place.

playback will be distorted, so your secret

To play the recording out loud, you need one of the

two keycards. Slide the card into the recorder with

the arrow pointing inward and press the button on

the side of the device: once to play and again to stop.

Without the keycard, your recording will be

distorted and unintelligible (meaning it will be

impossible to understand), keeping it safe from

eavesdroppers!

Also, without a keycard inserted, your recording is

safe and cannot be overwritten.

Batteries:

• An adult shou ld insert and

change the batteries.

• To operate the de vice, you wil l

need two bu tton cell bat teries

(3-volt, C R2032), whi ch could not

be included in t he kit due to the ir

limited shelf life.

• Avoid a short c ircuit of the

batterie s. A short cir cuit can

cause the wi res to overhe at and

the batter ies to explod e.

• Differe nt types of ba tteries or

new and used ba tteries ar e not

to be mixed.

• Do not mix old and new batteries.

• Do not mix alka line, standa rd

(carbon-zinc), or rechargeable

(nickel-cadmium) batteries.

• Batterie s are to be inser ted

with the cor rect polari ty (+ and –).

• Non-rech argeable ba tteries are

not to be rech arged. They c ould

explode!

• Rechargea ble batteri es are

only to be char ged under adul t

supervision.

• Rechargea ble batteri es are to

be removed f rom the toy bef ore

being charged.

• Exhauste d batterie s are to be

removed fr om the toy.

• The supply t erminals are n ot to

be short-circuited.

• Dispose of u sed batteri es in

accordance with environmental

provisio ns, not in the hou sehold

trash.

• Avoid deforming the batteries.

• Do not leave t he recorder or

the keycar ds in direct sun light

or expose th em to other sour ces

of heat.

• IMPORTANT ! Protect th e device

from moist ure. Clean it w ith a

damp cloth and a llow it to dry

thoroughl y before usin g it again.
