1. Safety

1.1 Safety Guidelines
This procedure is intended f or use only by q ualified service technicians who have been trained and authorized
by BARCO !
W :ARNING Hot Surface and Risk of Explosion:Switch the projector to stand by and let it cool down for at least
15 minutes . These lamps consist of a quartz arc tube ope ratin g at very high temp e ratu re and hig h pressure
which may explode suddenly. There is a risk of personal injury and property damage from hot quartz arc tube
particles if handled incorrectly.
W :ARNING Risk of Electrical Sh ock: Power down the projector and unplug the po we r cord from the wall
outlet. Once the projector is cooled down and the power is off, continue with the procedure.
W :ARNING L am p Runtime Warning: Do not exceed the indicated maximum to tal li fetime of the lamp for safe
operation in normal po wer mode. Do not us e it longer ! Always replace the lamp with t he BARCO lamp kit.
1.2 Recycling guidelines
W :ARNING Do not break or crush lamps because this may pose hea lth and environmental risks when mercury
vapors are released.
C :AUTION To avoid breaking the lamp s, repack carefull y whe n storing and transporting t hem.
C :AUTION Lamps may not b e disposed as normal ho usehold trash.
Contact your local waste disposal facility for inf ormation on the recycling program for HI D (High Intensity
Discharge ) lamps in your area.

Disposal options for mercury-containing lamps
• Recycle t hrough a municipal or solid wa ste district household haz ardous waste collection program in accordance with local
regulations.
• Direct shipment to lamp recycler
• Shipment through a hazardous waste transporter

• Access to the lamp unit(s) in the iQ projector
• Removing th e lamp unit(s)

3.1 Reset lamp runtime
3.1.1 Reset runtime
When to reset the lamp runtime ?
The lamp runtim e should only be reset whe n placing a new lamp.
W :ARNING L amp ru ntime reset as well as the lamp replacement can onl y be do ne by a Barco authorized
technician.
How to reset the lamp runtime in the iQ/iD ?
1. Press MENU to activate the Tool bar
2. Press →to select the Lamp item
3. Press ↓to Pull down the Lamp menu
4. Use ↑or ↓to select Reset runtime
5. Press →to pull down the menu
6. Use ↑or ↓to select the lamp to be reset (image 3-1)
7. Press ENTER
A dialog box is displayed (image 3-2)
8. Use ←or →, the nu meric keys on the remote, or the keypad to change the serial number of t he lamp (serial number 000 0000 will
not be accepted).

1. Press MENU to activat e t he Tool bar
2. Press →to select the Lamp item
3. Press ↓to Pull down the Lamp menu
4. Use ↑or ↓to select Reset runtime
5. Press →to pull down the menu
6. Use ↑or ↓to select the lamp to be reset (image 3-3)
7. Press ENTER

3.6 Cleaning
How to clean the dustfilters ?
1. Place the projector so as to access easily the f ilter to be cleaned
2. Push the handle downwards to unlock the filter. (image 3-17)
3. Slide out the filter (image 3-18, image 3-19, image 3-20)
See image 3-21.
4. Clean the dust filter with a dry cloth.
5. Re-insert the dust filter by sliding it back in the filter housing.
