When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always
be followed, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
■To protect against risk of electric shock do not immerse mixer, cord, or
plug in water or other liquid. To clean, wipe exterior with a damp cloth.
■Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near
children.
■Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off
parts and before cleaning.
■Avoid contacting moving parts. Keep hands, hair, clothing, as well as
handheld spatulas and other utensils away from Beaters during opera-
tion to reduce the risk of injury or damage to the mixer.
■Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the
appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return
the appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination,
repair, or electrical or mechanical adjustment.
■The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance
manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury.
■Do not use outdoors.
■Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot sur-
faces.
■Remove Beaters from mixer before washing them.
■Mixing flammable non-food substances may be hazardous.
■Do not operate in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes.
■Do not abuse the cord. Never carry the mixer by the cord or yank it to
disconnect from an outlet; instead, grasp the plug and pull to discon-
nect.
■This product is intended for household use only and not for
commercial or industrial use.
■Do not attempt to repair the mixer yourself; instead take it to a Black &
Decker (U.S.) Household Appliance Company-Owned or Authorized
Service Center for repair.
