Quick Reference Guide

The UEX100E-KIT is a USB extender kit utilising HDBaseT™ technology to extend
USB 2.0, 2CH analogue audio and control signals up to 100m over a single CAT
cable. The UEX100E-KIT allows up to 4 USB devices to be connected to a single
USB host with support for a transmittion data bandwidth up to 480Mbps and is
backwards compatible with USB 1.1 devices. The UEX100E-KIT also provides bi-
directional Power over Cable (PoC), bi-directional IR and RS-232 and 2CH analogue
and Ethernet pass through.
Introduction
FEATURES:
• Extends USB up to a distance of 100m over a single CAT cable using HDBaseT™ Technology
• Supports USB 2.0 signal extension
• Backwards compatible with USB 1.1 devices
• Transmitted data bandwidth up to 480Mbps
• 1x USB-B on Transmitter for connection to host device
• 4x USB-A hub on Receiver for connection to devices
• USB-A ports 1-2 support 5V1A, USB-A ports 3-4 support 5V500mA
• Bi-directional Ethernet pass through (100Mbps)
• Bi-directional IR & RS-232 pass through
• Supports 2CH PCM Analogue Audio pass through (direction selectable)
• Bi-directional PoC (Power over Cable) to power extenders from either transmitter or receiverend
• Simple plug and play, no driver installation or setup required.

3 IR Input - Connect to Blustream 5V 3.5mm IR receiver
4 IR Output - Connect to Blustream 5V 3.5mm IR emitter
5 Analogue Audio L/R - 3.5mm stereo jack can be used
as input or output from UEX100E-RX
6 Analogue Audio In/Out Switch - Select if audio is sent
to or received from UEX100E-RX
7 24V DC 1.25A 4-pin power supply connector
8 LED Power Indicator
9 1A USB Device Connection - USB A connection to
connect to high current (up to 1A) USB devices*
q 500mA USB Device Connection - USB A connection to
connect to USB devices up to 500mA*
w Config DIP Switch - DIP 1 sets PoC on or o. DIP 2 sets
RS232 passthrough or update mode
e RS-232 Port - 3-Pin Phoenix connector to pass bi-
directional IR to / from the receiver
*Note: only one USB camera can be connected at a time

Device Cabling
It is important that the interconnecting CAT cable between the Transmitter and Receiver is terminated using the
correct RJ45 pin configuration. The CAT cable MUST be a ‘straight’ (pin-to-pin) CAT cable.
Please ensure that the USB cabling used with this product is within specifications for both the distance and maximum
/ expected data rate transfer of the equipment in use. Exceeding distances, or using cabling not suitable for the data
transfer, may stop the UEX100E-KIT from working properly.
It is recommended to keep the USB cabling either side of the UEX100E-KIT to a minimum, using the range of the
equipment to run the distance over the CAT cable infrastructure.
