RM 4 • Installation Guide

Overview

This guide provides instructions for experienced installers to use the RM 4 to mount and install the Extron TLPPro 1022M

touchpanel in a standard 19-inch equipment rack, with 5U of vertical space. For complete instructions about connecting cables

and conguring the touchpanel, see the , at TLPPro 1022 Series User Guide www.extron.com.

Preparing and Installing the RM 4

To mount RM 4 in any standard 19-inch equipment

rack, follow these instructions:

1. Secure the RM 4 to the rack using the provided

#10-32 screws (

). Ensure it is in the correct

orientation (the front of the RM 4 has stamped TOP

into the metal).

2. Insert the four provided #8-32 screws into the

RM 4 (

). Leave enough space for the keyhole

slots of the touchpanel mounting plate to t over

the screws and slide into place.

Mounting the Touchpanel

3. Attach the mounting plate to the RM 4 (

). Ensure

the touchpanel mounting plate is in the correct

orientation with the hooks on the mounting plate at

the top and facing away from the RM 4.

4. Tighten the screws (

) to secure the mounting

plate to the RM 4.

5. If necessary, insert the provided pan head screws

and washers into the mounting screw slot on the

rear of the touchpanel (see the bottom inset of

gure 1,

6. Run cables to the rack and connect them to the

rear panel of the touchpanel.

7. Hold the touchpanel at a slight angle and lower

the notches at the top of the back panel over the

hooks of the mounting plate (

8. Swing the bottom of the touchpanel inwards.

9. Fasten the touchpanel to the mounting plate by

tightening the pan head screws (
