the appliance malfunctions or has been
dropped or damaged in any manner.
Supply cord replacement and repairs
must be conducted by the manufacturer,
its service agent, or similarly qualified
persons in order to avoid a hazard.

8. The use of attachments not
recommended or sold by the appliance
manufacturer may cause fire, electric
shock, or personal injury.
9. Do not use outdoors.
10. Do not let cord hang over edge of
table or counter, or touch hot surfaces,
including the stove.
11. Do not place electric kettle on or near
a hot gas or electric burner or in a
heated oven.
12. To disconnect electric kettle, turn any
control to OFF (
) and then remove plug
from wall outlet. To unplug, grasp the
plug and pull from the outlet. Never pull
from the power cord.
13. Do not use appliance for other than
intended use.
14. Do not use for other than heating water.
Other liquids or food will contaminate
the interior and void warranty.
15. Do not allow kettle to boil dry.
16. To avoid circuit overload, do not operate
another high-wattage appliance on the
same circuit.
17. Heater may remain hot after the kettle is
turned off.
18. WARNING: If the kettle is overfilled,
boiling water may be ejected.
19. WARNING: Scalding may occur if the lid
is opened during the heating cycle.
20. Be certain kettle lid is securely in place
during operation and when pouring hot
water. Do not use force when placing lid
on kettle.
21. Do not clean glass kettle with cleansers,
steel wool pads, or other abrasive
material.
22. Use only the power base provided.
23. WARNING: Fire and Shock Hazard.
Do not immerse or spill liquid on power
base.
24. CAUTION: Ensure that the appliance
is switched off before removing it from
its stand.

This appliance is intended for household use only.
WARNING
Electrical Shock Hazard:
This appliance is provided with either a
polarized (one wide blade) or grounded
(3-prong) plug to reduce the risk of electric
shock. The plug fits only one way into a
polarized outlet. Do not defeat the safety
purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in
any way or by using an adapter. If the plug
does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the
plug. If it still does not fit, have an electrician
replace the outlet.
The length of the cord used on this
appliance was selected to reduce the
hazards of becoming tangled in or tripping
over a longer cord. If a longer cord is
necessary, an approved extension cord
may be used. The electrical rating of the
extension cord must be equal to or greater
than the rating of the appliance. Care must
be taken to arrange the extension cord so
that it will not drape over the countertop
or tabletop where it can be pulled on by
children or accidentally tripped over.
To avoid an electrical circuit overload, do
not use another high-wattage appliance on
the same circuit with this appliance.
How to Use
WARNING
Burn Hazard. Do not overfill kettle. Boiling water may spit out of the spout.
Before first use: Pull up on Lid to remove it and fill Kettle with water to MAX fill line on
Water Level Window. Replace Lid and push down into place. Press Power Switch down to
turn Kettle on. Kettle will bring water to a boil, then shut off automatically. Discard water
and repeat 2 times, rinsing out Kettle each time. Kettle is now ready for use.
1. Pull up on Lid to remove it. Fill Kettle
with water up to MAX fill line, 1.8 L.
Do not fill above MAX fill line or below
0.5 L MIN fill line.
2. Replace Lid and push down into place,
then place Kettle on Base.
3. Plug into outlet.
4. Press Power Switch down and Blue LED
ON Light will illuminate while heating.
Kettle will automatically shut off when
water has boiled and Power Switch will
move up to OFF (
). Unplug.
NOTE: Only use Kettle to heat water. If Kettle is used to heat other liquids, such as coffee or
tea, the warranty will be voided.
If Kettle Floor Discolors:
It is normal for stainless steel heating elements to discolor. This does not affect the
performance of Kettle. Do not use abrasive scouring pads or cleaners since this may
damage the stainless steel surface.
If Kettle Boils Dry:
The heating element is protected by two automatic safety devices. If your Kettle is
accidentally switched on without being filled with water, or is allowed to boil dry, Kettle
will automatically switch off. You should:
• Lift Power Switch up to turn OFF ( ), unplug, and wait about 20 minutes for the element
to cool down.
• Refill Kettle; then use as normal and check that Kettle functions correctly.
If Kettle Does Not Work:
Make these simple checks before visiting hamiltonbeach.com:
• Have you turned Power Switch down to ON (l) position?
• If Kettle heats but does not boil, it might need descaling.
• Has Kettle been accidentally switched on without being filled with water or allowed to
boil dry? Lift Power Switch to turn OFF (
), wait 20 minutes, and try again.
• Is cord firmly plugged into the outlet and Kettle firmly seated in Base?
Care and Cleaning
WARNING
Electrical Shock Hazard. Do not immerse kettle, power base, or plug in
water or other liquid.
WARNING
Burn Hazard. Do not use abrasive scouring pads or powders since they
may scratch the smooth surface of the kettle.
To remove discoloration or scale/lime deposit from inside Kettle:
1. Unplug.
2. Pour 1 tablespoon white vinegar and
1/4 cup (59 mL) water into Kettle and let
stand 10 minutes.
OR
Place 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 mL) cream of
tartar (available in the spice aisle of
grocery store) into Kettle. Then fill Kettle
1/2 full with water. Plug into outlet, press
Power Switch down to turn ON (l), and
bring to boil. Lift Power Switch up to
turn OFF (
). Unplug and let cool. Rinse
several times with clean tap water.
3. Rub Kettle floor with a paper towel.
Remove paper towel and vinegar.
4. Wash with soap and water, and then rinse
and dry.
Tip: To avoid scale/lime deposit buildup,
empty Kettle after each use.
Limited Warranty
This warranty applies to products purchased and used in the U.S. and Canada. This is the
only express warranty for this product and is in lieu of any other warranty or condition.
This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period
of five (5) years from the date of original delivery in Canada and one (1) year from the date
of original delivery in the U.S. During this period, your exclusive remedy is replacement
of this product or any component found to be defective, at our option; however, you are
responsible for all costs associated with our returning a product or component under this
warranty to you. If the product or component is unavailable, we will replace with a similar
one of equal or greater value.
This warranty does not cover glass, filters, wear from normal use, use not in conformity
with the printed directions, or damage to the product resulting from accident, alteration,
abuse, or misuse. This warranty extends only to the original consumer purchaser or
gift recipient. Keep the original sales receipt, as proof of purchase is required to make a
warranty claim. This warranty is void if the product is used for other than single-family
household use or subjected to any voltage and waveform other than as specified on the
rating label (e.g., 120 V ~ 60 Hz).
We exclude all claims for special, incidental, and consequential damages caused by breach

Utilisation
w AVERTISSEMENT
Risque de brûlures. Ne pas trop remplit la bouilloire. L’eau brûlante
peut jaillir hors du bec.
Avant la première utilisation : Tirer le couvercle vers le haut pour le retirer et remplir
la bouilloire d’eau jusqu’à la ligne de remplissage MAX sur la fenêtre du niveau d’eau.
Appuyer sur le couvercle jusqu’à ce qu’il se fixe en place. Abaisser l’interrupteur
d’alimentation pour mettre en marche la bouilloire. La bouilloire portera l’eau à ébullition,
puis s’éteindra automatiquement. Jeter l’eau et répéter l’opération deux fois en rinçant
la bouilloire chaque fois. La bouilloire est maintenant prête à être utilisée.
1. Tirer le couvercle vers le haut pour le
retirer. Remplir la bouilloire d’eau jusqu’à
la ligne de remplissage MAX, 1,8 l. Ne
pas la remplir au-delà de la ligne MAX
ou en deçà de la ligne de 0,5 l.
2. Appuyer sur le couvercle jusqu’à ce qu’il
se fixe en place et déposer la bouilloire
sur la base.
3. Brancher à la prise de courant.
4. Abaisser l’interrupteur d’alimentation
et le voyant bleu de mise en marche à
DEL s’allumera durant le chauffage. La
bouilloire s’éteindra automatiquement
une fois l’eau à ébullition et l’interrupteur
d’alimentation passera en position
d’arrêt (
). Débrancher.
REMARQUE : N’utiliser la bouilloire que pour faire bouillir de l’eau. La garantie est annulée si
la bouilloire est utilisée pour faire bouillir d’autres sortes de liquides comme le café ou le thé.
Si le fond de la bouilloire se décolore :
L’acier inoxydable des éléments chauffants décoloré est normal. Ceci ne nuit pas au
fonctionnement de la bouilloire. Ne pas utiliser de tampons à récurer ou nettoyants, car ils
pourraient endommager la surface en acier inoxydable.
Si la bouilloire a chauffé à vide :
L’élément chauffant est protégé par deux dispositifs de sécurité automatiques. Si la
bouilloire vide est mise sous tension accidentellement et chauffe à vide, la bouilloire
se mettra automatiquement hors tension. Quoi faire :
• Soulever l’interrupteur d’alimentation pour le mettre en position d’arrêt ( ), débrancher
la bouilloire et attendre environ 20 minutes pour laisser l’élément chauffant refroidir.
• Remplir à nouveau la bouilloire puis utiliser normalement tout en vérifiant son bon
fonctionnement.
Si la bouilloire ne fonctionne pas :
Effectuer ces vérifications simples avant de visiter le site hamiltonbeach.ca :
• Est-ce que l’interrupteur marche/arrêt est en position marche (l) ?
• Si la bouilloire chauffe, mais sans faire bouillir l’eau, elle a peut-être besoin d’être
détartrée.
• Est-ce que la bouilloire a été accidentellement mise sous tension sans eau ou a-t-elle
fonctionné à vide ? Soulever l’interrupteur d’alimentation pour le mettre en position
d’arrêt (
), attendre 20 minutes et réessayer.
• Le cordon est-il fermement branché dans la prise murale et est-ce que la bouilloire est
bien installée sur son base ?
Entretien et nettoyage
w AVERTISSEMENT
Risque de choc électrique. Ne pas immerger la bouilloire, base
d’alimentation ou la fiche dans l’eau ou tout autre liquide.
w AVERTISSEMENT
Risque de brûlures. Ne pas utiliser de poudre ou de tampon à récurer
abrasifs, puisqu’ils pourraient égratigner la surface lisse de la bouilloire.
Pour éliminer la décoloration ou les dépôts tartriques ou calcaires dans la bouilloire :
1. Débrancher.
2. Verser 1 cuillère à café de vinaigre
blanc et 59 mL (1/4 tasse) d’eau dans la
bouilloire et laisser reposer 10 minutes.
OU
Versez 2,5 mL (1/2 c. à thé) de crème
de tartre (offert dans l’allée des épices
de l’épicerie) dans la bouilloire. Remplir
la bouilloire à moitié avec de l’eau.
Brancher l’appareil dans la prise, abaisser
l’interrupteur d’alimentation pour le
mettre en position marche (l), et porter
l’eau à ébullition. Soulever l’interrupteur
d’alimentation pour le mettre en position
d’arrêt (
). Débrancher la bouilloire et
la laisser refroidir. La rincer à plusieurs
reprises à l’eau du robinet.
3. Essuyer le fond de la bouilloire avec un
essuie-tout. Retirer l’essuie-tout et le
vinaigre.
4. Laver la bouilloire avec de l’eau et du
savon, puis la rincer et la sécher.
Conseil : Pour éviter l’accumulation de
dépôts tartriques ou calcaires, vider la
bouilloire après chaque utilisation.
