Congratulations on your new Hegel Viking
reference CD player. All Hegel products are
based on the same philosophy: Keep the
music signal as close to the original as pos-
sible. Nothing is added, nothing is taken
out - no artificial ingredients.
With the Viking, we have applied this phi-
losophy without compromise. The Viking
does not play SACD, there is no streaming,
and no digital inputs. It only plays stan-
dard (Redbook) CDs. It is because of this
singular purpose that the Viking can reach
unprecedented levels of fidelity.
With a single 16bit/44,100 signal to
process, the already excellent DAC is
optimized to perform at its absolute best.
A dedicated laser and CD drive ensure
optimal reading, while the Hegel-designed
discrete Master clock system controls the
timing of the player and reduces jitter to
an absolute minimum. And perhaps most
importantly, by doing only one thing we
can invest in only high-quality components
that make this CD player truly astounding.
The Hegel Viking is a peak-performance
machine. It is designed to do one thing
and one thing only: To capture every single
aspect of the music you are listening to.
