Location
Using the unit in the following locations can result in a malfunction.

Power supply
Be sure to turn the power switch to OFF when the unit is not in use. Remove
the battery in order to prevent it from leaking when the unit is not in use for
extended periods.
Interference with other electrical devices
Radios and televisions placed nearby may experience reception interfer-
ence. Operate this unit at a suitable distance from radios and televisions.
Handling
To avoid breakage, do not apply excessive force to the switches or controls.
Care
If the exterior becomes dirty, wipe it with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use
liquid cleaners such as benzene or thinner, or cleaning compounds or
ammable polishes.

Keeping foreign matter out of your equipment

Installing the battery
Whenyouinstallorreplacethebaery,makesuretoturnthe
poweroafterdetachingtheRimpitch-C2fromtheguitar.
When the baery begins to run low, the green LED at the
center of the meter ( ) becomes dark. Once the baery
depletes further, the note name indicator will ash, and the
meter will not function smoothly. Once this occurs, it’s time
to replace the baery as soon as possible.

Attaching to the instrument
Aach the Rimpitch-C2 to the lower side of the sound hole
so that the display is easy to read when you place the guitar
into playing position. The Rimpitch-C2 detects the pitch and
tunes by picking up the vibrations of the guitar.
TheRimpitch-C2canbeaachedtoanyguitarwherethe
soundholehasacirclediameterof100mm+/-3mm.

Tuning
1. Pressthepower/CALIBbuontoturnontheRimpitch-C2.
The current reference pitch will light up for several sec-
onds in the referrence pitch indicator.
To turn o the Rimpitch-C2, hold down the power/
CALIBbuon.
If the power is left on for approximately 3 minutes without
any user input, it will turn o automatically(Auto power-o).

2. Playasinglenoteonyourinstrument.Thenotename
indicatorwilllightupclosesttothepitchthat’sdetected.
Tune your instrument to the correct pitch so that the
desired note name lights up. To tune a semitone higher,
tune your instrument so that both the note name and the
sharp symbol (#) on the right side lights up.
3. Onceagainplayasinglenoteonyourinstrument,and
adjustthetuningsothatonlythecentersegmentofthe
meter(indicatedby ) is lit up brightly.
An indicator on the right on will light up if the pitch is
too high( ), and an indicator on the left side will light
up if the pitch is too low( ).
The pitch is sharp.
The pitch is slightly sharp.
The pitch is slightly flat.
In tune.
Evenifthepitchiswithintherangeofdetection,itmaynotbe
possibletodetectthepitchofaninstrumentalsoundthatcontains
largenumbersofovertonesorasoundthathasarapiddecay.
Themetermayrespondtovibrationsitpicksupfromtheenvi-
ronment;however,thiswillnotaecttuningoftheinstrument.
Changing the reference pitch (calibration)
With the Rimpitch-C2 turned on, press the power/CALIB
buon to change the reference pitch in 1 Hz steps.
440→■(441)→442→■(443)→ →444 ■(445)→ →438 ■(439)→440...
Seings are remembered even when the Rimpitch-C2 is
turned o. However, seings will be initialized when you
replace the baery. (Default: 440 Hz)
