Mit diesem Umrüstsatz können ausgewählte Märklin
H0-Lokomotiven mit bestimmten Versionen von
Scheibenkollektormotoren auf den geregelten Digital-
Hochleistungsantrieb umgebaut werden. Der Umbau
sollte nur von dafür autorisierten und geschulten
Märklin Digital-Fachhändlern oder Reparateuren
durchgeführt werden. Nur in diesem Fall kann von
Märklin eine Garantie über 12 Monate gewährt wer-
den. Bei Umbauten von nicht autorisierten Personen
erlischt jeglicher Anspruch gegenüber Märklin.
1. Vorbereitung der Lok
Vor dem Einbau muss mit dem Kunden festgelegt
werden, ob und welche Zusatzfunktionen ange-
schlossen werden sollen. Der Baustein bietet ins-
gesamt 3 verschiedene extern anschlie bare ß
Funktionen.
Beispiel:

“ ”f1 = Rauchgenerator
“ ”f2 = Telex-Kupplung
Bitte bedenken Sie dabei, dass die im Digitalbetrieb
unter function und f1 angeschlossenen Funktio-“ ” “ ”
nen im Betrieb mit Wechselstrom immer einge-
schaltet sind.
Fragen Sie Ihren Kunden auch nach der gewünschten
Einstellung f r die Digitaladresse, f r die Hü ü öchstge-
schwindigkeit und f r die Anfahr-/Bremsverz gerung.ü ö
Belastbarkeit des Decoders aus 60903:
Motorausgang: max. 800 mA
Funktionsausgänge: max. je 200 mA,
alle 3 Funktionsausg ngeä
zusammen jedoch nur
max. 400 mA
Kompletter Baustein: max. 1,1 A
Pro Funktionsausgang k nnen somit z.B. entwederö
2 Gl hbirnen oder 2 Telexkupplungen oder 1 Rauch-ü
generator angeschlossen werden. Bei Verbrauchern
mit h herem Leistungsbedarf ist unbedingt einö
monostabiles Relais zwischen zu schalten.
Ü ü äberpr fen Sie, ob die ausgew hlte Lok in der an-
geh ngten Loktabelle enthalten ist. In dieser Listeä
sind nicht unbedingt alle Varianten aufgeführt.
Ü überpr fen Sie den in der Lok eingebauten
Motortyp.
Hinweis: Bei einigen in der Loktabelle aufgef hrtenü
Loktypen wurde w hrend der Angebotszeit derä
Motortyp auf Trommelkollektor ge ndert. In diesemä
Fall wird der Digital-Umr stsatz 60901 zum Umrü ü-
sten ben tigt. ö

Voraussetzung um eine Lok mit 60903
nachrüsten zu können:
1. Die Lok muss in der anh ngenden Lokliste alsä
nachr stbar aufgef hrt sein.ü ü
2. Loks, bei denen ein gr erer Umbauaufwandöß
notwendig ist, empfehlen wir von einem
autorisierten Reparaturbetrieb oder vom M rklinä
Reparatur-Service umbauen zu lassen.
3. Das Modell muss technisch in einem guten Zu-
stand sein. Ausgeschlagene Lager oder Halterun-
gen oder zu gro es Getriebespiel k nnen fß ö ür
Fehlfunktionen am dem neuen, hochpräzisen
Motor verantwortlich sein.
4. Das Modell muss sich in einem werksseitigen
Ausbauzustand be nden. Zuger stete Fremdteilefi ü
können einen Umbau unmöglich machen.
Entfernen Sie das bisherige Motorschild, den Anker
und die Feldspule. Testen Sie anschlie end dasß
Getriebe auf einwandfreie Funktion.
Montieren Sie nacheinander das neue Permanent-
feld, den neuen Anker und das neue Motorschild.
Hinweis: Die älteren Motoren besitzen teilweise eine
deutlich h here Montagetoleranz gegen ber denö ü
heutigen Modellen. Dies kann bei ung nstiger Mon-ü
tage zu einem schlechten Wirkungsgrad des Motors
bei gleichzeitigem hohen Leistungsbedarf f hren.ü
Gegebenenfalls muss daher das Permanentfeld
beim Befestigen des Motorschildes justiert werden.
2. Neue Beleuchtungssockel
Bei Verwendung des braunen Masseanschlusses
als Rü ückleiter f r die Beleuchtung ist eventuell ein
st rendes Schwanken der Beleuchtungsintensit t ö ä
zu beobachten. Bei Verwendung des orangenen
Rückleiters ist dieses Flackern verschwunden. Der
orangefarbige R ckleiter darf jedoch nie Kontakt zurü
Fahrzeugmasse besitzen (Zerst rungsgefahr derö
Elektronik!). Bei der Beleuchtung mit Gewinde- oder
Bajonett-Anschluss ist der R ckleiter der Gl hbirnenü ü
fest mit der Fahrzeugmasse verbunden!
Um auch bei diesen Lokomotiven eine flackerfreie
Beleuchtung zu erhalten liegen diesem Umbausatz
zwei isolierte Gl hbirnenfassungen und zwei dazuü
passende Gl hbirnen mit Steckkontakten bei. In ü
vielen F llen kann dieser Beleuchtungssockel ein-ä
fach von oben ohne elektrischen Kontakt in die
bestehende Gl hbirnenfassung eingesetzt werden.ü
Die beiden Anschlusskabel werden dabei durch
den Befestigungsniet verlegt.

3. Verkabelung
Die Verkabelung erfolgt im Prinzip wie bei 60901 und
60902. Bitte unbedingt auf den Einbau der beiden
Entst rdrosseln achten. Zus tzlich m ssen bei die-ö ä ü
sem Umr stsatz am Motorschild noch 2 weitere Ent-ü
st rkondensatoren angel tet werden.ö ö

4. Bedienung der umger steten Lokü
Einstellen der Digitaladresse
Am 8-stelligen Codierschalter wird die Adresse
der Lok eingestellt (=> Tabelle 1).

Selected M rklin H0 locomotives with particular ä
versions of the at-commutator motor can befl
converted with this kit to the controlled digital high-
efficiency propulsion. This conversion should be per-
formed only by authorized and trained M rklin Digitalä
dealers or repair stations. M rklin can cover the ä
12 month warranty for this kit only when the con-
version is done in this manner. There is no warranty
coverage for conversions done by any other party.
1. Preparing the locomotive
Before this kit is installed, the consumer must indica-
te whether and which auxiliary functions he/she
wants to be connected to the decoder. There are a
total of 3 different functions that can be controlled
with the decoder.

Please keep in mind that functions controlled in digi-
tal operation under function and f1 are turned on“ ” “ ”
constantly in conventional operation with AC power.
Also ask your customers what settings he/she for
the digital address, maximum speed and accelerati-
on/braking delay.
Maximum current load for the 60903 decoder:
motor output: maximum 800 milliamps
function outputs: maximum 200 milliamps
for each of the 3 function
outputs, but a total maximum
of only 400 milliamps for all
3 function outputs together
complete decoder: maximum 1.1 amps
For example, either 2 light bulbs or 2 Telex couplers
or 1 smoke generator can be connected per func-
tion output. If you are going to connect users to the
decoder that have a higher current draw, then it is
absolutely necessary to have a monostable relay
wired in the circuit.
Check to see if the locomotive to be converted is in
the table included with these instructions. Not all of
the variations for a particular type of locomotive are
contained in this table.
Check to see what type of motor is built into the
locomotive.
Tip: On some of the types of locomotives listed in
the locomotive table the type of motor in the loco-
motive was changed to the drum-style commutator
motor during the time the locomotive was offered in
the market. In this case the 60901 Digital Conversi-
on Kit is required to do a conversion.

Preconditions for the retrofitting of a
locomotive with 60903:
1. The locomotive must be classifi fied as retro ttable
in the attached list of locomotives.
2. For locomotives requiring a relatively large amount
of conversion work, we recommend that the con-
version be carried out either by an authorised
repair workshop or by the M rklin Repair Service.ä
3. The model must be in good technical condition.
Worn bearings or brackets or too much play in the
transmission may be the cause of malfunctions in
the new, high-precision motor.
4. The model must be in factory con guration.fi
Retro tted parts from other manufacturers mayfi
make the conversion impossible.
Remove the existing, the armature and the field coil.
Test the mechanism to make sure that it works
properly.
Mount in succession the new permanent magnet
field, the new armature and the new brush plate.
Important: The older motors have in part a consider-
ably higher tolerance for assembly than the present
models. When the assembly has not been done
properly this can lead to poor motor performance
and greater consumption of power. The permanent
magnet field must be adjusted for position if neces-
sary when mounting the brush plate on it.
2. New Light Bulb Socket
When using the brown ground wire as a ground for
the headlights, you may observe an irritating flicker-
ing of the intensity for the lights. This flickering will
disappear when you use the orange ground return
wire for the headlights. The orange ground return
wire must however never come in contact with the
frame of the locomotive (contact may destroy the
decoder!). Where the headlight bulbs have a screw-
in or bayonet base the ground return for the light
bulbs is permanently connected to the locomotive
frame!
Two insulated light bulb sockets and two light bulbs
with plug-in contacts that fit into them are included
with this conversion kit to keep the headlights from
flickering with these locomotives. In many cases this
type of light bulb holder can simply be inserted from
above in the existing light bulb socket, without any
electrical contact being made. The two wires to the
new light bulb are drawn through the hollow mount-
ing rivet for the old light bulb socket.

Switching the function outputs
The function connected to that part of the decoder
controlled by the function button can be switched“ ”
on and off in all M rklin Motorola Digital systems.ä

Up to 3 other functions can be switched when you
use the 6021 Control Unit.
Prerequisite: The switches for the mode of operati-
on that are located on the back of the Control Unit

réparateur Märklin Digital agr . Ce néé ’est que dans
ce cas que la garantie de 12 mois pourra courir
valablement. En cas de transformation par une
personne non autoris e, toute r clamation é é à
l’encontre de Märklin sera nulle et non avenue.

Demandez galement é à vos clients quels réglages ils
désirent pour l’adresse Digital, la vitesse maximale et
la temporisation d’acc ration/d ration. é élé é éc l
Charges maximales autoris es sur le d codeuré é
du kit 60903:
Sortie moteur: 80 mA max.
Sorties fonctions: chacune 200 mA max., la charge
totale des 3 fonctions ne pouvant
cependant d passer 400 mA. é
Module complet: 1,1 A max.
Aux sorties de fonction, on peut par exemple
raccorder soit 2 ampoules, soit 2 attelages Telex ou
encore 1 g rateur fumig ne. En cas dé énè ’appareil
consommateur trop gourmand en puissance, il est
imp ratif de le commuter via un relais monostable. é
Vérifiez si la locomotive sélectionnée fait partie de la
liste des locomotives mentionn es dans le tableaué
joint. Cette liste ne cite absolument pas toutes les
variantes possibles.
Vérifiez également le type de moteur se trouvant
dans la locomotive.
Remarque: En effet, quelques-unes des locomo-
tives mentionn es dans la liste ont , au cours deé é ét
leur fabrication en sé érie, quip es dé ’un collecteur à
tambour en lieu et place d un collecteur ’ à disque.

Dans ce cas, il faut utiliser l ensemble de motorisati-’
on hautes performances Digital 60901.à
Condition pour pouvoir monter une locomotive
avec 60903:
1. La possibilit de montage ult rieur de cette é é
locomotive doit tre indiqu e dans la liste desê é
locomotives ci-jointe.
2. Pour les locomotives sur lesquelles d importantes’
transformations sont n cessaires, nous vous con-é
seillons de les faire modifier par le service de
réparation Märklin ou par un atelier de réparation
agréé.
3. Le modè é ê éle r duit doit tre dans un bon tat tech-
nique. Des paliers d vi s ou des xations ou deé é fi
trop grands jeux d engrenages peuvent tre’ ê
responsables de d faillances au niveau du fonc-é
tionnement sur le nouveau moteur de haute
pr cision.é
4. Le modè éle r duit doit se trouver dans un état de
montage usine. Le montage de pi ces d autres fa-è ’
bricants peut rendre une transformation impossible.
Otez l induit et l induc-’ancienne plaque de moteur, l’ ’
teur bobin . V rié é fiez ensuite l tat du train d’é ’engrena-
ges de fa on vous assurer qu il fonctionne libre-ç à ’
ment.
Installez maintenant l aimant permanent, le nouvel’
induit et la nouvelle plaque de moteur.
Remarque: les vieux moteurs poss dent è à certains
é égards une tol rance de montage nettement plus
grande par rapport aux mod les actuels. En cas deè
montage d fectueux, ceci peut conduire é à un mauvais
rendement assorti d une grande consom-mation. Le’
cas ché éant, le champ magn tique devra tre ajusté ê é
lors du montage de la plaque de motuer.
2. Nouveau socle d clairage’é
Si l on utilise la connexion de masse brune comme’
conduite de retour pour l clairage, il se pourrait que’é
survienne une uctuation indfl ésirable de l intensit’ é
lumineuse. Ceci peut tre ê évit par l emploi du cé ’ âble
de retour orange. Celui-ci ne peut cependant avoir
aucun contact avec la masse m tallique du vé éhicule
(danger d endommagement de l lectronique). Avec’ ’é
les ampoules culot baà ïonnette ou visser, le c bleà â
de retour des ampoules est relié à la masse du
véhicule!
Afin d obtenir un clairage stable sur ces locomotives,’ é
le kit de modi cation comprend deux supportsfi
d’ampoule isol s ainsi que deux ampoules adapt es é é à
enficher. Dans beaucoup de cas, ce socle d clairage’é
peut tre simplement installê é par le dessus sans qu un’
contact lectrique se cré ée avec le support d ampoule’
existant. 11
