AirFree™ vent insert
Benet: The AirFree™ vent insert keeps the
teat full of milk during feeding, even while
the bottle is held horizontally. This supports
an upright feeding position for your baby
in order to reduce air ingestion. This helps
reduce common feeding issues including
wind and reux (GER).
Assembly: Place the AirFree™ vent insert in
the bottle before you assemble the screw
ring with teat.
Warning: When you prepare formula, make
sure that all the formula is fully dissolved to
avoid blocking the AirFree™ vent insert.
Note: Always make sure the teat is full of
milk by turning the bottle upside down
before feeding your baby. While feeding,
make sure that the AirFree™ vent insert
points upwards, in line with your baby‘s
nose (see image).
Compatibility: The AirFree™ vent insert only
works with 4 oz/125 ml, 9 oz/260 ml and
11 oz/330 ml Philips Avent Anti-colic bottle
and Classic+ bottles, teat and screw ring.
The AirFree™ vent insert is not compatible
with the (I/II/III) variable ow teat and the
Natural bottle range.
Note: When using an 11 oz/330 ml bottle, the
AirFree™ vent insert insert will keep the teat
full of milk but it could be that you see fewer
air bubbles.
Philips Avent Anti-colic bottles and Classic+
bottles can also be used without the
AirFree™ vent insert.
Before rst and every use
Disassemble all parts and clean them
in warm soapy water and rinse them
thoroughly. Sterilize the parts in boiling
water for 5 minutes or by using a Philips
Avent sterilizer. This is to ensure hygiene.
During sterilizing in boiling water, make
sure that the pan contains enough water
and prevent the bottle or other parts from
touching the side of the pan. This can cause
irreversible product deformation, defect or
damage that Philips cannot be held liable
for. Make sure that you wash your hands
thoroughly and that the surfaces are clean
before contact with sterilized parts. Place
all bottle parts on a clean paper towel or
on a clean drying rack and allow them to air
dry. Excessive concentration of detergents
may eventually cause plastic components
to crack. Should this occur, replace
immediately. This product is dishwasher safe
- food colourings may discolour parts. Clean
and sterilize all parts before each use. For
hygiene reasons, we recommend replacing
teats after 3 months.
Assembly
When you assemble the bottle, make sure
you place the cap vertically onto the bottle
so that the teat sits upright (see image for
more details). The teat is easier to assemble
if you wriggle it upwards instead of pulling it
up in a straight line.
Maintenance teat and AirFree™ vent insert
Do not leave a feeding teat and/or AirFree™
vent insert in direct sunlight or heat, or
leave in disinfectant (‘sterilizing solution’)
for longer than recommended, as this may
weaken the parts. Keep parts in dry, covered
container.
Choosing the right teat for your baby
The Philips Avent teats are separately
available with dierent ow rates to help your
baby with drinking. Over time you can change
the teat accommodating the individual needs
of your baby. Philips Avent teats are clearly
numbered on the side to indicate ow rate.
Make sure you use a teat with the correct
ow rate when you feed your baby. Use a
lower ow rate if your baby chokes, is leaking
milk or has trouble adjusting to the drinking
speed. Use a higher ow rate if your baby
falls asleep during feeding, gets frustrated
or when feeding takes a very long time.
