Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung

Dieses Produkt dient zum Anschluss von bis zu vier zusätzlichen USB 3.0-Geräten. Das Produkt

ist für PCs mit USB 3.0-Anschluss ausgelegt und ist abwärtskompatibel zu USB 2.0 und USB 1.1.

Eine Verwendung ist nur in geschlossenen Räumen, also nicht im Freien erlaubt. Der Kontakt mit

Feuchtigkeit, z.B. im Badezimmer u.ä. ist unbedingt zu vermeiden.

Aus Sicherheits- und Zulassungsgründen (CE) dürfen Sie das Produkt nicht umbauen und/oder

verändern. Falls Sie das Produkt für andere Zwecke verwenden, als zuvor beschrieben, kann

das Produkt beschädigt werden. Außerdem kann eine unsachgemäße Verwendung Gefahren

wie zum Beispiel Kurzschluss, Brand, Stromschlag, etc. hervorrufen. Lesen Sie sich die

Inbetriebnahme

• Verbinden Sie den USB 3.0-Hub mit einem freien USB 3.0-Port Ihres Computers. Das

Betriebssystem erkennt den USB 3.0-Hub automatisch. Eine blaue LED (3) leuchtet auf.

• Verbinden Sie bis zu vier USB-Geräte mit den USB-Anschlussports (2) des USB 3.0-Hubs. Sollte

Ihr Computer über keinen USB 3.0-Port verfügen, so kann der USB 3.0-Hub auch an einen

USB2.0/1.1-Portangeschlossenwerden,denneristabwärtskompatibel.DieGeschwindigkeit

derDatenübertragungentsprichtdannjedochnurderSpezikationdesbenutztenniedrigeren

Ports.

Tipps

• Der USB 3.0-Hub ist USB 2.0/1.1-kompatibel. Das bedeutet, dass herkömmliche

USB 2.0/1.1-Geräte ohne Probleme am USB 3.0-Hub betrieben werden können. Schneller

werden die USB 2.0/1.1-Geräte dabei aber nicht!

• Um die hohe Geschwindigkeit von USB 3.0 ausnutzen zu können, müssen alle Geräte

USB 3.0 unterstützen: Das USB-Gerät selbst (z.B. eine externe Festplatte), der USB-

Hub und der USBController im Computer. Die theoretische Maximalgeschwindigkeit von

USB 3.0 (oder auch USB 2.0/1.1) wird im praktischen Betrieb jedoch nie erreicht. Ursachen

dafür sind Protokollinformationen, gleichzeitiger Betrieb mehrerer USB-Geräte oder die

Geschwindigkeitsbeschränkungen des angeschlossenen USB-Geräts oder USB-Controllers/

Mainboards.

• Unter DOS oder im abgesicherten Modus von Windows ist kein USB-Betrieb möglich. Je nach

Computer bzw. BIOS-/Setup-Einstellung ist der Betrieb einer USB-Tastatur und USB-Maus

trotzdem möglich. Dazu kann es jedoch erforderlich sein, dass diese direkt an den USB-

Schnittstellen des Computers angeschlossen sind und nicht an einem USB-Hub.

• USB-Geräte erlauben das Ein- und Ausstecken während dem Betrieb. Sie brauchen also nicht

Ihren Computer ausschalten, wenn Sie Geräte ein- oder ausstecken wollen (bei anderen

Schnittstellen kann dies zu Beschädigungen führen, z.B. wenn Sie eine PS/2-Maus während

dem Betrieb ein- oder ausstecken). Finden jedoch Datenübertragungen auf dem USB-Port

statt, z.B. wenn ein externes Laufwerk Daten an den Computer liefert, und Sie ziehen den USB-

Stecker heraus, könnte das Betriebssystem abstürzen, außerdem kommt es zu Datenverlust

oder gar einer Beschädigung des Dateisystems auf dem externen Laufwerk!

• Bei Windows XP, Windows Vista™ oder Windows 7 erscheint bei manchen USB-Geräten (z.B.

bei einer USB-Festplatte) ein Symbol mit einem Pfeil in der Menüleiste. Über diese Funktion

können Sie das USB-Gerät vom Computer „trennen“, dem Computer also mitteilen, dass er

oeneDateienschließensoll.DanachkanndasUSB-Gerätgefahrlosabgestecktwerden.

• Verwenden Sie zum Anschluss von USB 3.0-Geräten ausschließlich dazu geeignete

USB3.0-Kabel.BeachtenSie,dassbeisehrlangenUSB3.0-KabelndieDatenübertragungsrate

geringer werden kann.

Wartung und Reinigung

• Trennen Sie das Produkt vor jeder Reinigung von der Stromversorgung.

• Das Produkt ist bis auf eine gelegentliche Reinigung wartungsfrei. Verwenden Sie zur Reinigung

ein weiches, antistatisches und fusselfreies Tuch.

• Verwenden Sie keine scheuernden oder chemischen Reinigungsmittel.

• Tauchen Sie das Produkt nicht in Wasser ein.

Intended use

This product is designed to connect up to four additional USB 3.0 devices. It is designed for PCs

with a USB 3.0 port, but it is also backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 interfaces. It is

intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture, e.g. in bathrooms, must

be avoided under all circumstances.

For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you

use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In

addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, re, electric shock etc. Read

the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third parties only together

with its operating instructions.

• Do not use any force when connecting USB plugs. A USB plug can only be inserted

into the USB port in one orientation.

Operation

• Connect the USB 3.0 hub to an available USB 3.0 port on your computer. The operating system

will recognize the USB 3.0 hub automatically. A blue LED (3) turns on.

• Connect up to four USB devices to the USB connection ports (2) on the USB 3.0 hub. If your

computer does not possess a USB 3.0 port, then the USB 3.0 hub can also be connected to a

USB 2.0/1.1 port, as it is backward compatible. In this case, the data transfer speed will only

match the specications of the slower port.

Tips

• The USB 3.0 hub is also compatible with USB 2.0/1.1. This means that conventional USB 2.0/1.1

devices can be operated using the USB 3.0 hub. However, the data transfer speed for USB

2.0/1.1 devices will not increase!

• To make use of the high transfer speeds that USB 3.0 oers, all devices must support USB 3.0:

The USB device itself (e.g. an external hard drive), the USB hub and the USB controller on the

computer. However, the theoretical maximum speed oered by USB 3.0 (or USB 2.0/1.1) is never

reached in practice. This is due to protocol information, operating multiple USB devices at the

same time or the speed restrictions of the connected USB device or USB controller/mainboard.

• It is not possible to use the USB ports in DOS or in Windows Safe Mode. However, depending

on the computer or the BIOS/setup settings it may be possible to use a USB keyboard and USB

mouse. In order to do so, these may need to be directly connected to the USB ports on the

computer and not to a USB hub.

• USB devices may be inserted and removed when the computer is on. This means that you do not

need to turn o your computer if you wish to insert or remove devices (this can lead to damage

for other types of ports, e.g. when inserting or removing a PS/2 mouse when the computer is on).

However, removing the USB plug when you are transferring data via the USB port (e.g. when an

external hard drive is sending data to the computer) may cause the operating system to crash,

result in data loss or even damage the le system on the external hard drive!

• On Windows XP, Windows Vista™ or Windows 7, a symbol with an arrow will appear in the menu

bar for some USB devices (e.g. USB hard drive). You can use this function to disconnect the USB

device from the computer - i.e. tell the computer to close any open les. The USB device can

then be safely removed.

• Only use suitable USB 3.0 cables to connect USB 3.0 devices. Note that the data transmission

rate may be lower for very long USB 3.0 cables.

Maintenance and cleaning

• Always disconnect the product from the power supply before cleaning it.

• The product does not require maintenance except for occasional cleaning. Use a soft, antistatic

and lint-free cloth to clean the device.

• Do not use any abrasive or chemical cleaning materials.

• Do not immerse the product in water.

Disposal

Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household

waste.

At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory

regulations.
