Introduction

We congratulate you on the purchase of

your new product. You have chosen a high

quality product. The instructions for use are

part of the product. They contain important informa-

tion concerning safety, use and disposal. Before using

the product, please familiarise yourself with all of the

safety information and instructions for use. Only use

the product as described and for the speciﬁed applica-

tions. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please

ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it.

Proper Use

This appliance is designed to weigh out and tare

quantities of food. The product is designed only for

use in private household and must not be used in

medicinal or commercial areas.

Magnetic ﬁelds may cause the product not to

function properly. If this happens, brieﬂy remove

the batteries from the product and re-insert them.

your food are not detrimentally aﬀected

by this product.

Safety Instructions

for Batteries

Remove the battery from the device if they are not

going to be used for a prolonged period.

CAUTION! DANGER OF EXPLO-

SION! The batteries must never be

recharged!

When inserting the battery, ensure the correct po-

larity! This is shown in the battery compartment.

If necessary, clean the batteries and device con-

tacts before inserting the batteries.

Remove spent batteries immediately from the

device. There is an increased danger of leaks!

Keep batteries away from children; do not throw

them in the ﬁre, short-circuit them or take them apart.

If the above instructions are not complied with, the

batteries may discharge themselves beyond their

end voltage. There is then a danger of leaking. If

the batteries

have leaked inside your device, you

should

remove them immediately in order to prevent

damage to the device!

Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and

mucous membranes. Any parts of the

body coming into contact with battery

acid should be rinsed oﬀ with copious amounts of

water and / or a doctor contacted if necessary!

Preparing the product for use

Pull out the insulation strip from the battery com-

partment

Replacing the battery (Fig. C)

Loosen the screw located at the back of the scale.

Open the battery compartment

on the back of

the scale.

Remove the used battery, if present.

Insert a battery type CR2032 in the battery

compartment.

Note: Make sure you insert the batteries with the

correct polarity. This is indicated on the cover of

the battery compartment.

Close the battery compartment and tighten the

screw.

Operation

Set the kitchen scale on a solid, level and ﬂat

surface to weigh.

Weighing

Note: Always place the object you wish to weigh

gently onto the weighing surface

to avoid damag-

ing the glass surface.

Brieﬂy touch the button / TARE

to switch on

the kitchen scale. The LC display

will show all

displays for approx. 3 seconds.

Note: A slight touch of the button

/ TARE

and the button UNIT

is suﬃcient to operate the

kitchen scale. If there is too much pressure, the

kitchen scale may cause tilting.

During this time the weighing equipment on the

kitchen scale is adjusting. Afterwards the numeri-

cal display

will read „0“. The unit

display

will show the last unit selected.

Note: if an object (e.g. a key) is already on the

weighing surface

while switching on, the

numerical display will still read „0“.

Place the item you wish to weigh onto the scale.

The numerical display will show the weight of the

item you are weighing.

Incremental weighing

Touching the button / TARE

with the scale

on will change the numerical display

from the

reading to „0“. The „Tare“ symbol

will appear.

Now add another item to weigh onto the scale.

The numerical display

will show the weight of

the newly added item.

If you remove the item added to the scale, the

numerical display

will again read „0“.

If you remove all items from the scale, the LC

display

will show a negative value indicated

by the minus sign

Then brieﬂy touch the button / TARE

, and

the „Tare“ symbol will disappear.

Important! Be sure never to add more than 5 kg

to the weighing surface. Overloading the scale

can damage it.

Changing the measuring unit

The kitchen scale will display the weight in the oﬃcial

European measuring unit „g“ (grams), as well as the

traditional unit of weight „oz“ (ounce, 1 oz ≈ 28.35 g)

or „lb’oz“ (pound: ounce, 1lb = 16 oz ≈ 453.59 g).

When measuring the volume of water, the kitchen

scale calculates it by the weight using the oﬃcial Euro-

pean unit of volume „ml“ (millilitres) or the traditional

unit of measure ﬂ’oz (ﬂuid ounces, 1ﬂ’oz ≈ 28.41 ml).

To switch the unit of measure, brieﬂy touch the UNIT

button

. After each time it is touched, the unit

display

will switch to the next unit listed:

g → oz → lb’oz → ml → ﬂ’oz

Holding the button / TARE

for approx. 3 seconds

will oﬀ the kitchen scale. If no movement is detected

on the weighing surface for 2 minute and no button

is pressed, the kitchen scale will automatically

switch oﬀ.

Note: The device contains sensitive electronic

components. For this reason it is possible that it can

be disrupted by radio transmitting equipment in the im-

mediate vicinity. If the display

indicates a problem,

move such objects away from it.

Electrostatic discharges can lead to malfunctions. In

cases of the appliance failing to work, remove the

batteries for a short while and then replace them.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Never immerse the product in water or other

liquids. This can damage the product.

Clean the product with a slightly dampened, ﬂuﬀ-

free cloth. To remove more stubborn dirt, you can

also dampen the cloth with a weak soap solution.

Note: You may store the scale using the moun-

ting bracket

The packaging is made entirely of recycla-

ble materials, which you may dispose of at

local recycling facilities.

The packaging is made of corrugated

ﬁbreboard (PAP 20).

The Green Dot is not valid for Germany.

The product and packaging materials are

recyclable, dispose of it separately for

better waste treatment.

The Triman logo is valid in France only.

Contact your local refuse disposal authority

for more details of how to dispose of your

worn-out product.

To help protect the environment, please

dispose of the product properly when it has

reached the end of its useful life and not in

the household waste. Information on collec-

tion points and their opening hours can be

obtained from your local authority. Return

the batteries and / or the device through the

special waste collection points available.

Faulty or used batteries must be recycled in accord-

ance with Directive 2006 / 66 / EC and its amend-

ments. Please return the batteries and / or the device

to the available collection points.

Environmental damage through

incorrect disposal of the batteries!

Batteries may not be disposed of with the usual domes-

tic waste. They may contain toxic heavy metals and

are subject to hazardous waste treatment rules and

regulations. The chemical symbols for heavy metals

are as follows: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury,

Pb = lead. That is why you should dispose of used

batteries at a local collection point.

Warranty

The product has been manufactured to strict quality

guidelines and meticulously examined before delivery.

In the event of product defects you have legal rights

against the retailer of this product. Your legal rights

are not limited in any way by our warranty detailed

below.

The warranty for this product is 3 years from the date

of purchase. Should this product show any fault in ma-

terials or manufacture within 3 years from the

date

purchase, we will repair or replace it – at our

choice –

free of charge to you.

The warranty period begins on the date of pur

chase.

Please keep the original sales receipt in a safe location.

This document is required as your proof of purchase.

This warranty becomes void if the product has been

damaged or improperly used or maintained.

The warranty applies to faults in material or manufac-

ture. This warranty does not cover product parts

subject to normal wear, thus possibly considered con-

sumables (e.g. batteries) or for damage to fragile

parts,

vægten i 2 minutter og berøres der heller ikke nogen

kontaktﬂade, så slukkes køkkenvægten automatisk.

modsat fald kan produktet tage skade.

Rengør produktet med en let fugtet, fnugfri klud.

Ved stærkere tilsmudsning, kan der også bruges

en let sæbevandsopløsning.

Henvisning: De kan opbevare køkkenvægten

ved hjælp af ophængningsindretningen

Bortskaﬀelse

Indpakningen består af miljøvenlige materi-

aler, som De kan bortskaﬀe over de lokale

genbrugssteder. Indpakningen er fremstillet

af bølgepap (PAP 20). Det grønne mil-

jømærke gælder ikke for Tyskland.

Produktet og indpakningsmaterialerne kan

genbruges; bortskaf disse særskilt til en

bedre aﬀaldsbehandling. Triman-logoet

gælder kun for Frankrig.

De får oplyst muligheder til bortskaﬀelse af

det udtjente produkt hos deres lokale myn-

digheder eller bystyre.

For miljøets skyld, så må produktet aldrig smi-

des ud sammen med husholdningsaﬀaldet,

når det er udtjent, men skal aﬂeveres til en

fagmæssig korrekt bortskaﬀelse. De kan in-

formere Dem vedrørende opsamlingssteder

og deres åbningstider hos deres ansvarlige

forvaltning.

Defekte eller brugte batterier skal genbruges iht.
