Using XA-DC3
XA-DC3 is a 5.2 V output car battery adapter. You
can use a cigarette lighter socket by this adapter to
operate the personal navigation system and charge
the battery.
Precautions
On safety
Be sure to place the cable where they do not
obstruct driving.
Failure to do so may result in unsafe driving
conditions.
Do not modify or disassemble the unit.
Be sure that nothing metallic comes into contact
with the metal parts of the product or connecting
cable. If it does, a short may occur and the
product may be damaged.
Always keep the metal contacts clean.
On handling
When the car battery adapter is not in use,
disconnect it from the cigarette lighter socket,
otherwise the car battery may drain.

Umgang mit dem System
Wenn Sie den Autobatterieadapter nicht benutzen,
trennen Sie ihn von der Zigarettenanzünderbuchse,
damit er der Autobatterie keinen Strom entzieht.
Beachten Sie Folgendes:
Wenn die Zigarettenanzünderbuchse nicht mit
ACC oder I am Zündschloss verbunden ist, wird
der eingebaute Akku auch bei ausgeschalteter
Zündung oder Nichtverwendung des Geräts mit
Strom versorgt.
Schützen Sie das Gerät vor Feuer oder Wasser.
Andernfalls kann es zu einer Fehlfunktion
kommen.
Wenn Sie das Fahrzeug abstellen, lassen Sie das
Gerät nicht im Fahrzeug, um zu verhindern,
dass das Gerät gestohlen oder durch hohe
Temperaturen im Wageninneren beschädigt
wird.
Hinweise zur Verwendung
Stecken Sie das Gerät fest in die
Zigarettenanzünderbuchse.
Je nach Lage und Form der
Zigarettenanzünderbuchse lässt sich das Gerät
möglicherweise nicht anschließen.
Um das Gerät zu lösen, ziehen Sie an den
Steckern. Ziehen Sie auf keinen Fall am Kabel
selbst.
Verwenden Sie das Gerät nicht an einem Ort,
an dem es Nässe oder hoher Lufeuchtigkeit
ausgesetzt ist. Andernfalls besteht Feuergefahr
oder die Gefahr eines elektrischen Schlags.
Das Gerät kann sich im Betrieb erwärmen. Dies
ist keine Fehlfunktion.
Austauschen der Sicherung
Wenn Sie die Sicherung im Autobatterieadapter
austauschen, achten Sie darauf, eine
Ersatzsicherung mit dem gleichen Ampere-Wert
wie die Originalsicherung ( ) zu verwenden. 2,5 A
Dieser ist auf der Originalsicherung angegeben.
Wenn die Sicherung durchbrennt, überprüfen Sie
den Stromanschluss und tauschen die Sicherung
aus. Brennt die neue Sicherung ebenfalls durch,
kann eine interne Fehlfunktion vorliegen. Wenden
Sie sich in einem solchen Fall an Ihren Sony-
Händler.
Achtung
Verwenden Sie unter keinen Umständen eine
Sicherung mit einem höheren Ampere-Wert als
dem der Sicherung, die ursprünglich mit dem
Gerät geliefert wurde. Andernfalls kann es zu
Schäden am Gerät kommen.

If your car’s cigarette lighter socket is not
connected to ACC on your ignition switch, power
will continue to be supplied to the unit’s built-in
power supply even when the ignition is off or the
unit is not in use.
Do not expose the unit to fire or water, as it may

Fuse replacement
When replacing the fuse in the car battery adapter,
be sure to use one matching the amperage rating
stated on the original fuse ( ). If the fuse 2.5 A
blows, check the power connection and replace
the fuse. If the fuse blows again aer replacement,
there may be an internal malfunction. In such a
case, consult your nearest Sony dealer.
Warning
Never use a fuse with an amperage rating
exceeding the one supplied with the unit as this
could damage the unit.

Gebrauch des XA-DC3
Der Autobatterieadapter XA-DC3 erzeugt eine
Ausgangsspannung von 5,2 V. Über diesen Adapter
können Sie das Bordnavigationssystem an die
Zigarettenanzünderbuchse anschließen, um es mit
Strom zu versorgen und den Akku zu laden.
Sicherheitsmaßnahmen
Sicherheit
Verlegen Sie das Kabel unbedingt so, dass es
beim Fahren nicht hinderlich ist.
Andernfalls kann es beim Fahren zu gefährlichen
Situationen kommen.

Utilisation du XA-DC3
Le XA-DC3 est un adaptateur pour batterie de
voiture doté d’une sortie 5,2 V. Vous pouvez utiliser
un allume-cigare avec cet adaptateur pour faire
fonctionner le système de navigation personnel et
recharger la batterie.
Précautions
A propos de la sécurité
Veillez à placer le câble à un endroit où il ne gêne
pas la conduite.
Dans le cas contraire, votre sécurité ne peut être
garantie pendant que vous conduisez.
Ne modifiez pas et ne démontez pas l’appareil.
Veillez à ce qu’aucun objet métallique ne touche
les pièces métalliques du produit ou le câble de
raccordement. Sinon un court-circuit pourrait se
produire et endommager le produit.
Gardez toujours les contacts métalliques bien
propres.
A propos de la manipulation
Lorsque l’adaptateur pour batterie de voiture n’est
pas utilisé, débranchez-le de l’allume-cigare car la
batterie pourrait se décharger.
Notez les points suivants
Si votre allume-cigare n’est pas raccordé à la
position ACC du contact, l’appareil continue à
être alimenté même si le contact est coupé ou si
l’appareil n’est pas utilisé.
N’exposez pas l’appareil au feu ou à l’eau car cela
pourrait provoquer un dysfonctionnement.
Veillez à retirer l’appareil de la voiture lorsque
vous quittez cette dernière, pour éviter les
risques de vol ou de détérioration causée par une
température élevée à l’intérieur de la voiture.
Remarques sur l’utilisation
Veillez à brancher cet appareil correctement dans
l’allume-cigare.
Il est possible que cet appareil ne puisse pas être
inséré, selon la position ou la forme de l’allume-
cigare.
Pour débrancher l’appareil, tirez-le par les fiches
et jamais directement sur le câble lui-même.
N’utilisez pas l’appareil dans un endroit soumis
à des projections liquides ou à l’humidité afin
d’éviter tout risque d’incendie ou d’électrocution.
En cours de fonctionnement, cet appareil risque
de chauffer. Ceci n’est pas un problème de
fonctionnement.
Remplacement du fusible
Lorsque vous remplacez le fusible de l’adaptateur
pour batterie de voiture, veillez à utiliser un fusible
dont la capacité, en ampères, correspond à la valeur
indiquée sur l’ancien fusible ( ). Si le fusible 2,5 A
fond, vérifiez le branchement de l’alimentation et
remplacez le fusible. Si le nouveau fusible fond
de nouveau, il est possible que l’appareil soit
défectueux. Dans ce cas, consultez votre revendeur
Sony le plus proche.
Avertissement
Ne jamais utiliser de fusible dont la capacité en
ampères dépasse celle du fusible fourni avec
l’appareil, car vous risqueriez d’endommager
l’appareil.

De XA-DC3 gebruiken
De XA-DC3 is een accuadapter met een
uitvoer van 5,2 V. Met deze adapter kunt u
de aanstekeraansluiting gebruiken om het
persoonlijke navigatiesysteem te gebruiken en de
batterij op te laden.
Voorzorgsmaatregelen
Veiligheid
Zorg ervoor dat de kabel u niet hindert tijdens
het autorijden.
Als u dit niet doet, kunnen er onveilige situaties
tijdens het autorijden ontstaan.
Probeer het apparaat niet aan te passen of uit
elkaar te halen.
Zorg ervoor dat er geen metalen voorwerpen
in contact komen met de metalen onderdelen
van het product of de verbindingskabel. Dit
kan kortsluiting veroorzaken en schade aan het
product toebrengen.
Houd de metalen contactpunten altijd schoon.
Gebruik
Wanneer de accuadapter niet wordt gebruikt,
koppelt u deze los van de aanstekeraansluiting,
omdat de accu anders kan leeglopen.
Houd rekening met de volgende punten
Als de aanstekeraansluiting in uw auto niet is
verbonden met ACC op de contactschakelaar,
wordt er doorlopend stroom geleverd aan de
ingebouwde stroomvoorziening van het apparaat,
zelfs als het contact is uitgeschakeld of het apparaat
niet wordt gebruikt.
Stel het apparaat niet bloot aan vuur of water,
omdat dit een storing kan veroorzaken.
Verwijder het apparaat uit de auto wanneer u uw
auto parkeert om te voorkomen dat het apparaat
wordt gestolen of dat het apparaat wordt
beschadigd door hoge temperaturen in de auto.
Opmerkingen bij het gebruik
Sluit het apparaat stevig aan op de
aanstekeraansluiting.
Aankelijk van de locatie of de vorm van de
aanstekeraansluiting, past dit apparaat mogelijk
niet.
Als u het apparaat wilt loskoppelen, moet u aan
de stekker trekken. Trek nooit aan de kabel zelf.
Gebruik het apparaat niet op een plaats waar
het apparaat wordt blootgesteld aan vloeistoffen
of vocht om brand of elektrische schokken te
voorkomen.
Dit apparaat kan tijdens het gebruik warm
worden. Dit duidt niet op een storing.
Zekeringen vervangen
Vervang een zekering in de accuadapter altijd door
een identiek exemplaar ( ). Als de zekering 2,5 A
doorbrandt, moet u de voedingsaansluiting
controleren en de zekering vervangen. Brandt
de zekering vervolgens nogmaals door, dan kan
er sprake zijn van een defect in het apparaat.
Raadpleeg in dat geval de dichtstbijzijnde Sony-
handelaar.
Waarschuwing
Gebruik nooit een zekering die zwaarder is dan de
bijgeleverde zekering, omdat het apparaat anders
kan worden beschadigd.
