groundedbeforeopeningyourcomputercaseortouchingyourPCIExpresscard.StarTech.comrecommendsthatyouwearananti-static

strapwheninstallinganycomputercomponent.Ifananti-staticstrapisunavailable,dischargeyourselfofanystaticelectricitybuild-upby

touchingalargegroundedmetalsurface(suchasthecomputercase)forseveralseconds.AlsobecarefultohandlethePCIExpresscardby

itsedgesandnotthegoldconnectors.

1. Makesurethatyoursystemisunpoweredandunpluggedandyouaregrounded.

2. Removethecoverofyoursystem(refertocomputersystemdocumentation,ifnecessary)sothatthePCIExpressexpansionslotopenings

onthemotherboardareaccessible.

3. AlignthePCIExpressconnectorontherisercardwithanavailablePCIExpressslot.

4. Gentlyinsertthecardintotheemptyslot,makingsureitisseatedrmly.Fastenthecardtotherisercardmountingbracketonthe

computerchassis(refertocomputersystemdocumentation,ifnecessary).

5. InstallthedesiredPCIExpresscardintothePCIeslotontherisercardandfastensecurelytothecomputerchassis(refertocomputer

systemdocumentation,ifnecessary).

6. Replaceandfastenthecomputercover.
