• Always read instructions thoroughly to ensure that you have the

• Sterilize the thermometer probe each time before use.
• Use caution while handling the thermometer. Take care when
moving the probe into position to avoid injury or damage. Always
wear a heat resistant glove when touching the thermometer
during or just after use. DO NOT TOUCH PROBE WITH BARE HANDS!
• Not for use as an oven or grill thermometer. Do not leave in oven or
grill. LCD case temperature exposure limits are 10° to 140°F. Do not
expose stem tip to temperatures 50°F above or below measure-
ment range (see Specifications).
• The thermometer is not waterproof. Do not immerse the
thermometer unit in liquid, or pour liquid directly on the
thermometer unit, as doing so will cause damage to internal
components and void the warranty. If you spill liquid on it, dry it
immediately with a soft, lint free cloth.
• DO NOT wash in a dishwasher. This unit is not dishwasher safe.
Damage will void warranty. Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Grease
or other hard-to remove soil can be removed with a scouring pad.
Do not clean the unit with abrasive or corrosive materials. This
may scratch the plastic parts and corrode the electronic circuits.
• DO NOT use this thermometer in a microwave oven.
• DO NOT tamper with the unit's internal components. Doing so will
invalidate the warranty on this unit and may cause damage. Other
than replacing the batteries, the unit contains no user-service-

temperature or humidity. This may result in malfunction, shorter
electronic life span, damaged battery and distorted parts.
• DO NOT expose the thermometer unit to: water, direct heat, a hot
surface or direct sunlight. This may cause damage to the plastic
casing or the electric circuits and components inside.
IMPORTANT: The thermometer is factory set to Fahrenheit, but can be switched to
Celsius readings if desired. The switch is located in the battery compartment.

The digital thermometer operates on two (2) AAA batteries (included).
To install or replace batteries:
1. With the probe stem in the closed position use a small Philips head
screwdriver to loosen the four (4) screws on the compartment cover.

symbols inside the compartment. The batteries stack end to end
3. Replace the battery compartment cover and tighten the four
screws enough for the door to be flush with the outside surface.
This ensures a water resistant seal.
4. To remove old batteries: Use your fingernail or a small tool such as
a pen or screwdriver to gently lift the first battery from the
compartment. The second battery can be removed by gently
tapping the back of the thermometer to move the battery into the
open compartment if it did not slide freely after removing the first
RECALIBRATION INSTRUCTION
IMPORTANT: Digital thermometers that have thermocouple sensors seldom
require recalibration or testing. If you believe your thermometer may have
been dropped or mishandled and requires recalibrating at 32°F (0°C) use
1. Fill a container with crushed or chipped ice.
2. Add water slowly until it overflows.
3. Add more ice until it is packed tightly to the bottom of the
container, allowing excess water to overflow.
4. Insert the stem of the thermometer at least 2” into the container
and allow it to stabilize for 5 minutes. It is important that NOTE:
the tip of the thermometer not touch the bottom of the container.

(excluding battery) for one (1) year from the original purchaser from the date of retail
purchase. It does not cover damages to wear resulting from accident, misuse, abuse,

1. Sterilize the metal probe by inserting it into an appropriate
solution such as boiling water for several minutes.
2. The unit will turn on automatically when the probe is unfolded.
3. To test the internal temperature of the food, unfold the stem and
insert into the thickest part of the food. Do not come in contact
with bone, fat or gristle, as these areas will not provide accurate
temperature readings. Take care when moving the probe into
position to avoid injury or damage. DO NOT LEAVE THE THERMOME-
TER IN THE OVEN WHILE COOKING, AND DO NOT TOUCH THE HOT PROBE
