In order to make the most of the advanced features and performance provided

by your guitar, please read this manual carefully before using the instrument.

NOMENCLATURE/THE CONTROLS

The built-in preampliﬁer is automatically turned ON when a guitar cable is

connected to the output jack.

MASTER VOL. (Master Volume) Control Adjusts the overall output volume level.

3 Band Equalizer

LOW : Boosts or cuts the level of the low frequencies.

TREBLE : Controls the volume of the treble side pickup.

BASS : Controls the volume of the bass side pickup.

Using the Sound Hall Cover

If feedback occurs when playing at high volumes, the Sound Hole Cover should be inserted into the

sound hole. When inserted into the sound hole, Sound Hole Cover effectively reduces feedback.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PROCEEDING

Please keep this manual in a safe and handy place for future reference.

WARNING

Always follow the basic precautions listed below to avoid the possibility of serious injury

or even death from electrical shock, short-circuiting, damages, ﬁre or other hazards.

These precautions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Do not open

• This instrument contains no user-serviceable parts. Do not open the instrument or at-

tempt to disassemble or modify the internal components in any way. If it should appear

to be malfunctioning, discontinue use immediately and have it inspected by qualiﬁed

Yamaha service personnel.

Water warning

•

Do not expose the instrument to rain, use it near water or in damp or wet conditions, place it on

any containers (such as vases, bottles, or glasses) containing liquids that might spill into any

openings. If any liquid such as water seeps into the instrument, turn off the power immediately

and have the instrument inspected by qualiﬁed Yamaha service personnel.

If you notice any abnormality

•

When one of the following problems occur, immediately turn off the power and remove all bat-

teries from the instrument, then have the instrument inspected by Yamaha service personnel.

- It emits unusual smells or smoke.

- Some object has been dropped into the instrument.

- There is a sudden loss of sound during use of the instrument.

CAUTION

Always follow the basic precautions listed below to avoid the possibility of physical

injury to you or others, or damage to the instrument or other property. These precautions

include, but are not limited to, the following:

Connection

•

Before connecting the instrument to other electronic components, turn off the power for all compo-

nents. Before turning the power on or off for all components, set all volume levels to minimum.

• Be sure to set the volumes of all components at their minimum levels and gradually raise

the volume controls while playing the instrument to set the desired listening level.

Location

• Do not place the instrument in an unstable position where it might accidentally fall over.

Handling caution

• Do not rest your weight on, or place heavy objects on the instrument, and do not use

excessive force on the buttons, switches or connectors.

• Do not use the instrument/device or headphones for a long period of time at a high or

uncomfortable volume level, since this can cause permanent hearing loss. If you experi-

ence any hearing loss or ringing in the ears, consult a physician.

* Yamaha cannot be held responsible for damage caused by improper use or modiﬁ-

cations to the instrument, or data that is lost or destroyed.

* Information on the battery can be found in the section at the end of this sheet.

* Please read the instruction manual for the external audio device such as a guitar

ampliﬁer, etc., prior to use.

USING THE TUNER

The guitar is equipped with an A4=440Hz standard pitch tuner. The tuner’s circuitry is inde-

pendent from the guitar’s output circuit so switching the tuner ON/OFF will have no affect

on sound output.

Press the TUNER switch, with or without the cable connected, the and lamps will

ﬂash simultaneously and the tuner is switched ON.

w Tune the guitar string until the note name of the desired pitch appears in the tuner’s display.

The lamp indicates the pitch is low. The lamp indicates the pitch is high.

The pitch indicator ( ) ﬂashes slower as the string’s pitch nears the note shown in the display.

e The string is in tunewhen the and lamps both light.

r Press the TUNER switch again to switch the tuner OFF.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

In order to avoid reduced sound quality, replace the battery as soon as possible when the

battery check indicator lights.

q Press the release lever on the battery holder in the direction indicated by the arrow in the

illustration in order to unlock it.

w Slide out the battery case.

e Remove the old battery from the battery case, and insert the new battery making sure that

the (+) and (–) terminals of the battery are positioned as shown in the illustration. Use only

a DC9V, S-006P (6F22, 6LR61) or equivalent battery.

Slide the battery case back into the battery holder and press ﬁrmly so that the battery

case locks into place.

- When the batteries run out, or if the instrument is not to be used for a long time,

• Do not carry or store batteries with other metal objects such as necklaces, hairpins,

metal coins, or keys.

• If the batteries do leak, avoid contact with the leaked ﬂuid. If the battery ﬂuid should come

in contact with your eyes, mouth, or skin, wash immediately with water and consult a doc-

tor. Battery ﬂuid is corrosive and may possibly cause loss of sight or chemical burns.

Make sure to discard used batteries according to local regulations.

本ギターは弊社多機能プリアンプ AG-Stomp の電源供給機能には対応しており

ません。

電源供給機能を使用しますと、本ギターの内蔵プリアンプ内の回路が破損し、音

出力・チューナー機能等に支障をきたすおそれがあります。

※AG-Stomp に接続する場合は、電源供給機能を OFF(+9VSUPPLY スイッチを OFF)

にし、本ギターのバッテリーホルダーに電池を挿入した状態でお使いください。

Caution! Regarding the AG-Stomp Guitar

Power Supply Function

This guitar is not compatible with the power supply function on the AG-Stomp

acoustic guitar preamplifier. Using the guitar power supply function on the AG-

Stomp can damage the guitar’s built-in preampliﬁer resulting in abnormal sound

output, tuner operation, etc.

* Before connecting the guitar to the AG-Stomp, make sure that the AG-Stomp’s guitar power

supply function is switched OFF (switch OFF the +9V SUPPLY switch) and insert a battery

into the guitar’s battery holder.

・使用済みの乾電池は、各自治体で決められたルールに従って廃棄しましょう。

Attention ! À propos de la fonction d’alimentation

électrique de la guitare du AG-Stomp

La guitare n’est pas compatible avec la fonction d’alimentation électrique du pré-

ampliﬁcateur de guitare acoustique AG-Stomp. L’utilisation de cette fonction sur

l’AG-Stomp peut endommager le préampliﬁcateur intégré de la guitare, ce qui nuit

à la qualité du son, au fonctionnement de l‘accordeur, etc.

* Avant de raccorder la guitare à l’AG-Stomp, assurez-vous que la fonction d‘alimentation élec-

trique de guitare de l‘AG-Stomp est désactivée (commutateur +9V SUPPLY en position OFF)

et introduisez une pile dans le porte-pile de la guitare.
