Intended use of Braun ExactFit™ 1
Braun ExactFit™ 1 is a blood pressure monitor that has been developed for
easy and accurate blood pressure measurements from the upper arm. The
measuring accuracy of Braun ExactFit™ 1 was tested at the time of
manufacture and was proven by clinical research in accordance with ESH.

This device has not been tested for and hence is not intended for
neonatal and infant subjects, pregnant, including pre-eclamptic users.
What you should know about blood pressure
Blood pressure constantly changes throughout the day. It rises sharply in
the early morning and declines during the late morning. Blood pressure
rises again in the afternoon and nally drops to a low level at night. Also,
it may vary in a short period of time. Therefore, readings from successive
measurements can uctuate.
This device will display your blood pressure reading referring to two
values: systolic and diastolic. The systolic blood pressure (the upper
number) indicates how much pressure your blood is exerting against
your artery walls when the heart beats. The diastolic blood pressure (the
lower number) indicates how much pressure your blood is exerting
against your artery walls while the heart is resting between beats. The
pulse value is also displayed after each measurement.
Blood pressure measured in a doctor’s oce only provides a momentary
value. Repeated measurements at home better reect one’s actual blood
pressure values under everyday conditions.
Moreover, many people have a dierent blood pressure when they
measure at home, because they tend to be more relaxed than when in
the doctor’s oce. Regular blood pressure measurements taken at home
can provide your doctor with valuable information on your normal blood
pressure values under actual «everyday» conditions.
The ESH (European Society of Hypertension) and WHO (World Health
Organisation) have set up the following standard blood pressure values
when measured with a resting pulse at home:

This device is not intended as a substitute for regular check-ups by your
doctor, please continue to visit your doctor on a regular basis for a
professional reading.
Memory function
Your ExactFit™ 1 blood pressure monitor will automatically store the
latest measurement. Storing is done automatically after the completed
measurement.
To recall the reading, press and hold the power button for at least
4 seconds while the unit is switched o. When all the display elements
are shown, release the power button and the screen will show the last
reading with an symbol.
Battery charge indicator
Batteries almost discharged
When the batteries are approximately 75%
used, a battery warning appears. This icon
blinks 3 times rst when the device is turned
on, then goes to measuring mode. The
monitor will continue to measure reliably, but
new batteries should be obtained.
Batteries discharged—replacements required
When the batteries are fully discharged,
the battery symbol will ash empty along
with 3 short beep sounds as soon as the
device is switched on. You cannot take any
further measurement and must replace
the batteries. Refer to the section called
“Inserting batteries”.
Storage and cleaning
•Do not expose device to either extreme temperatures, humidity, dust
or direct sunlight.
•The cu contains a sensitive air-tight inatable bladder. Handle this
carefully and avoid all types of straining through twisting or buckling.
•Clean the device with a soft dry cloth. Stains on the cu can be
carefully removed with a damp cloth. Do not use gasoline, thinners or
similar solvents. Do not wash or dry clean the cu. Do not store the

Your device is warrantied for two years (2 years) from date of purchase.
This warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship that occur
under normal use; defective devices meeting these criteria will be
replaced free of charge.
The warranty DOES NOT cover defects or damage resulting from abuse or
failure to follow the user instructions. The warranty becomes void if the
device is opened, tampered with, or used with non-Braun branded parts
or accessories, or if repairs are undertaken by unauthorised persons.

of the product. The rst 3 numeric digits of the LOT No. represents the
day of the year of manufacture. The next 2 numeric digits represent the

Bitte lesen Sie die komplette Gebrauchsanweisung sorgfältig durch, um

Personen, die unter Herzrhythmusstörungen, Gefäßverengungen,
Arteriosklerose in den Extremitäten oder Diabetes leiden oder einen
Herzschrittmacher haben, sollten ihren Arzt konsultieren, bevor sie

Abweichungen bei den Blutdruckmesswerten auftreten.
Wenn Ihr Blutdruck im Bereich schwerer Hypertonie liegt, mit Werten von
180mmHg systolisch und darüber, und/oder 110mmHg diastolisch und
darüber, und Sie ein oder zwei Messungen in diesem Bereich haben,

Wenn Sie in ärztlicher Behandlung sind oder Medikamente einnehmen,

Die Verwendung dieses Blutdruckmessgeräts kann eine Rücksprache mit
Ihrem Arzt nicht ersetzen.
Vermeiden Sie eine Komprimierung oder Restriktion des Schlauchs. Ein
ständiger Druck auf die Manschette durch einen Knick im Schlauch kann
den Blutuss behindern und möglicherweise zu einer Verletzung des
Anwenders führen.
Es wird nicht empfohlen, dieses Produkt an dem Arm auf der Körperseite
zu verwenden, an der eine Mastektomie vorgenommen wurde.
Eine allzu häuge Messung des Blutdrucks kann zu einer Verletzung des
Anwenders führen, weil der Blutuss behindert wird.
Es wird nicht empfohlen, die Manschette an einer Gliedmaße anzulegen,
an der ein intravaskulärer Zugang gelegt wurde oder ein arteriovenöser
(A-V) Shunt vorhanden ist. Dies kann eine vorübergehende
Beeinträchtigung des Blutusses verursachen und möglicherweise zu
einer Verletzung des Anwenders führen.
Legen Sie die Manschette NICHT über einer Wunde an, um weitere
Verletzungen zu vermeiden.
Es wird nicht empfohlen, das Produkt gleichzeitig mit anderen medizinisch-
elektrischen Geräten an der gleichen Gliedmaße zu verwenden.

2. Die Manschette liegt richtig, wenn sich der Klettverschluss an der
Außenseite der Manschette bendet und der Metallring nicht die
Haut berührt (Abb. 2).
3. Schieben Sie Ihren Arm durch die Manschettenschlaufe. Das untere
Ende der Manschette sollte ungefähr 2-3 cm über dem Ellbogen
liegen (Abb. 3). Der Schlauch sollte sich über der Armschlagader auf
der Innenseite des Arms benden (Abb. 4).

4. Ziehen Sie die Manschette stra, so dass sich der obere und untere
Rand eng um Ihren Arm legen.
5. Wenn die Manschette ordnungsgemäß sitzt, drücken Sie den
Klettverschluss fest auf die gepolsterte Seite der Manschette.
6. Die Manschette ist einsatzbereit, wenn nach festem Anlegen der
Manschette um Ihren Arm die Pfeilköpfe auf das Streifenmuster auf
den gegenüberliegenden Seiten der Manschette zeigen (Abb. 5).
7. Setzen Sie sich auf einen Stuhl und legen Sie den Arm auf den Tisch,
so dass sich die Manschette auf Herzhöhe bendet (Abb. 6).
Durchführen einer Messung
8. Setzen Sie sich auf einen Stuhl und stellen
Sie Ihre Füße fest auf den Boden.
9. Wickeln Sie die Manschette stra um Ihren
Arm (siehe oben „Anlegen der Manschette“,
Abb. 3-6).
10. Bewegen Sie das Gerät während der
Messung nicht, da die Messergebnisse sonst ungenau werden
können.
11. Drücken Sie die Starttaste , um mit der Messung zu beginnen. Die
Messung startet automatisch. Während die Messung läuft, nicht
bewegen oder sprechen.
Hinweis: Falls es erforderlich ist, eine Messung zu unterbrechen,
können Sie jederzeit die Starttaste drücken. Das Gerät
unterbricht die Messung sofort, lässt den Manschettendruck ab und
schaltet sich automatisch ab.
12. Die Manschette wird zuerst aufgeblasen, bevor der Druck wieder
abgelassen wird. Am Ende der
