My ABC Game

In the ABC Game, letters are matched to picture cards or vice versa. Children learn the

alphabet effortlessly and can also match terms and letters.

My ABC Game can be played alone or with two to three other players.

4 boards, 26 letter cards (+ 1 ñ), 79 symbol cards, 1 accompanying booklet

containing explanations of terms.

Object of the game

The object of the game is to be the rst player to match all the symbols or alphabet

cards correctly on the board.

Preparation

The alphabet cards are placed face-down on the table and shufed. The boards are

shared out among the players, with each player receiving one board. The players each

pick up three alphabet cards and place them face-up in the top row of their boards.

Then the picture cards are also placed face-down on the table and shufed.

Rules

The youngest player may begin by looking for a picture card to match his or her alpha-

bet cards. To do so, turn over up to three picture cards so that they are facing up. The

rst letter of the picture must correspond to one of the letters on your board. The mouse

begins with an „M“, the owl with an „O“ and the sun with an „S“. When you have found

a matching picture card, place it under the corresponding letter on your board. All the

unused picture cards are then put back on the table face-down.

The other players pay close attention to which cards you have picked up and not used.

Perhaps they can put one of these cards to good use themselves.

When you have found a matching picture card or if none of the three picture cards mat-

ches your alphabet cards, it is the turn of the player on your left to nd a matching card.

If there are doubts as to whether cards match, you can check in the accompanying

booklet to see which term and letter go with a picture card.

The winner of the game is the rst player to match a correct picture card to each letter.

Game variations

Naturally, you can also play the game the other way round, i.e. by matching a letter to

each picture.

You can speed the game up by placing all the picture cards face-up on the table.
