SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read instructions - All the safety and operating instructions should be
read before the product is operated.
2. Retain instructions - The safety and operating instructions should be
retained for future reference.
3. Heed Warnings - All warnings on the product and in the operating
instructions should be adhered to.
4. Follow Instructions - All operating and use instructions should be
followed.
5. Cleaning - Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do
not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning.
6. Attachments - Do not use attachments not recommended by the
product manufacturer as they may cause hazards.
7. Water and Moisture - Do not use this product near water-for example,
near a bath tub, wash bowl, kitchen sink, or laundry tub; in a wet basement;
or near a swimming pool; and the like.
8. Accessories - Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand,
tripod, bracket, or table. The product may fall, causing serious injury to a
child or adult and serious damage to the product. Use only with a cart,
stand, tripod, bracket, or table recommended by the manufacturer, or sold
with the product. Any mounting of the product should follow the
manufacturer’s instructions, and should use a mounting accessory
recommended by the manufacturer.
9. Cart - A product and cart combination should be
moved with care. Quick stops, excessive force, and
uneven surfaces may cause the product and cart
combination to overturn.
10. Ventilation - Slots and openings in the cabinet
are provided for ventilation to ensure reliable
operation of the product and to protect it from overheating. These
openings must not be blocked or covered. The openings should never be
blocked by placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surface.
This product should not be placed in a built-in installation such as a
bookcase or rack unless proper ventilation is provided or the
manufacturer’s instructions have been adhered to.
11. Power Sources - This product should be operated only from the type of
power source indicated on the marking label and connected to a MAINS
socket outlet with a protective earthing connection. If you are not sure of
the type of power supply to your home, consult your product dealer or local
power company.
12. Power-Cord Protection - Power-supply cords should be routed so that
they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or
against them, paying particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience
receptacles, and the point where they exit from the product.
13. Mains Plug - Where the mains plug or an appliance coupler is used as
the disconnect device, the disconnect device shall remain readily operable.
14. Lightning - For added protection for this product during a lightning
storm, or when it is left unattended and unused for long periods of time,
unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system.
This will prevent damage to the product due to lightning and power-line
surges.
15. Overloading - Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral
convenience receptacles as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.
16. Flame Sources - No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles,
should be placed on the product.
17. Object and Liquid Entry - Never push objects of any kind into this
product through openings as they may touch dangerous voltage points or
short-out parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid
of any kind on the product.
18. Loudspeakers - Excessive sound pressure from loudspeakers can cause
hearing loss.
19. Damage Requiring Service - Unplug this product from the wall outlet
and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following
conditions:
a. When the power-supply cord or plug is damaged.
b. If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the product.
c. If the product has been exposed to rain or water.
d. If the product does not operate normally by following the operating
instructions. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating
instructions as an improper adjustment of other controls may result in
damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to
restore the product to its normal operation.
e. If the product has been dropped or damaged in any way.
f. When the product exhibits a distinct change in performance-this
indicates a need for service.
20. Replacement Parts - When replacement parts are required, be sure the
service technician has used replacement parts specified by the
manufacturer or have the same characteristics as the original part.
Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock, or other
hazards.
21. Safety Check - Upon completion of any service or repairs to this
product, ask the service technician to perform safety checks to determine
that the product is in proper operating condition.
WARNING
The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol, within an
equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user to the
presence of uninsulated “dangerous voltage” within the
product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to
constitute a risk of electric shock to persons
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is
intended to alert the user to the presence of important
operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the
literature accompanying the appliance.
THE EQUIPMENT MUST BE CONNECTED TO AN EARTHED MAINS SOCKET-
OUTLET.
CAUTION REGARDING PLACEMENT
To maintain proper ventilation, be sure to leave a space around the unit
(from the largest outer dimensions including projections) than is equal to,
or greater than shown below.

WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to

The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no
objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on apparatus.
Mains plug is used as disconnect device and it should remain readily
operable during intended use. In order to disconnect the apparatus from
the mains completely, the mains plug should be disconnected from the
mains socket outlet completely.
Battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the
like.
CAUTION
An appliance with a protective earth terminal should be connected to a
mains outlet with a protective earth connection.

NOTES ON ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
At the end of its useful life, this product must not be disposed of with
regular household waste but must be returned to a collection point for the
recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. The symbol on the
product, user’s manual and packaging point this out.
The materials can be reused in accordance with their markings. Through re-
use, recycling of raw materials, or other forms of recycling of old products,
you are making an important contribution to the protection of our
environment.
Your local administrative office can advise you of the responsible waste
disposalpoint.

QUICK SETUP
Determine the audio input signal
that will be used with the studio monitors
and connect the audio cable (not included) to
the appropriate input. Typical connections
direct to a computer or DJ gear will use the
unbalanced RCA input. Connection to an
audio interface or mixer will use either a
balanced ¼” TRS or XLR input.
Set the volume on the input device (mixer,
audio interface or computer) to minimum
level.
The HF and LF LEVEL ADJUST are set at “0dB”
(factory setting). The VOLUME is set at “+6dB”
(factory setting).
Set the POWER switch to ‘ON’ position. Play
an audio track and slowly bring up the volume on
the input device (mixer, audio interface or
computer) to an acceptable listening level.
Set the POWER switch to ‘OFF’. Connect the AC power cord
(provided) to the AC inlet socket on the studio monitor and power outlet.
Warning: Incorrect AC voltage may damage the studio
monitor. Make sure the AC power outlet matches the studio
monitor (should state 100V~, 110-120V~ or 220-240V~.

INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the new KRK Systems Generation 3 ROKIT studio monitor, the world’s most
respected manufacturer of studio reference monitors. In our state of the art design facility,
we create products that deliver a natural and balanced spectral response with low
distortion and superior imaging. With KRK Systems studio monitors, recording engineers
and artists hear every nuance of the audio being reproduced.
SYSTEM CONTROLS
VOLUME - Volume knob sets the input system gain. The usual scenario
is to set the knob at the maximum setting (+6dB as shipped from the
factory) and adjust the input level from your audio source. Use the
volume knob to match the left and right studio monitors.
HF ADJUSTMENT - The High Frequency adjustment may be used to
tailor a listening style preference. The factory setting is flat (knob is in
the 0dB position).
LF ADJUSTMENT – The Low Frequency adjustment may be used to
adjust for the room acoustics and personal preference. Room acoustics
may dictate which type of adjustment you need to make to retain the
proper frequency response from the studio monitor. For example,
placement near a wall or corner will boost the low frequencies.

Note that results may vary. The factory setting is flat (knob is in the 0dB position).
BALANCED INPUT - The XLR & TRS input jack is connected to
your audio equipment outputs, such as a mixing console or
audio interface. Only connect one input source at a time.
UNBALANCED INPUT - The RCA input jack is connected to your audio
equipment outputs, such as an audio interface, computer, DJ gear and
mobile device. Only connect one input source at a time.
AC INPUT INLET SOCKET & FUSE HOLDER - A standard IEC-type AC
Inlet Socket is used to provide power to the studio monitor. Below the
socket is a fuse holder that contains two fuses (one spare).
NOTE - The studio monitors will take break-in time to achieve optimum sonic
performance. Under moderate use, play a favorite album between 15 to 25 hours.

Check another input on the ROKIT. This will require a different cable. For example, if you
have a mixer connected to a ROKIT with a XLR or ¼” TRS cable, try another route and
connect the mixer to the ROKIT with an RCA cable. If there is still no sound, please contact
customer service.
Check that the cable used between the audio source and ROKIT is being used in the correct
application and that it is fully inserted into the socket. For additional information on signal
cables and connections, visit www.krksys.com. Inspect the cable for any frays or visible
damage. Often a bend near the plug end will cause damage to the cable and has to be
replaced. The ROKIT’s XLR and TRS will accept a balanced signal. If you are connected with a
unbalanced signal to the ROKIT through the XLR and TRS, be sure that PIN2 is the signal and
PIN1 & 3 are tied together at the source end.
Check that the audio source is indeed playing an audio signal to both left and right channels
and the sound is not bad. For example, verify audio is heard on the built-in speakers of a
laptop. Or connect headphones to the headphone jack of the mixer or audio interface. If
there is still no sound, than the audio source is the problem. Consult the audio source’s
literature for more information.
Check the audio source. The audio source can range from a laptop computer to a mixer or
audio interface. On all audio source devices, verify if there is a mute feature and confirm it is
not active. Also check if there is a balance control and that it is set to middle. Play a
continuous audio signal, such as a loop or song, and slowly increase the volume on the
audio source. If the ROKIT still has no sound or bad sound, follow the checklist:
A ROKIT pair contains a left and right side. Confirm which ROKIT produces no sound. Verify
that both left and right ROKIT’s have identical knob settings. Then simply move the audio
signal cable from the working ROKIT to the non-working ROKIT. If the non-working ROKIT
now produces sound, the previously used cable is the problem and needs to be replaced. If
there is still no sound, proceed with the next step.
Verify there is power to the ROKIT. The power switch needs to be in the ‘on’ position. The
power cord should be firmly placed into the IEC socket on the rear of the ROKIT and into the
AC outlet. The KRK logo on the front of the ROKIT will illuminate when the power switch is
‘on’. The ROKIT can be in an auto-mute condition. The auto-mute engages after 30 minutes
of no activity. To take the ROKIT out of the mute condition, simply play audio to the input of
the ROKIT. If the KRK logo does not illuminate, see box on the right. Or proceed with the
box below.
Basic Trouble Shooting – If you have a problem and are using a pair of ROKITs, check
whether both ROKITs have the problem. If both ROKITs have the problem it is likely not the
speakers. Focus on your setup.

Verify the ROKIT is the correct model for
the AC power outlet. The ROKIT is
available in different models for regions
that have 100VAC, 110-120VAC, and
220-240VAC power outlets. A mismatch
can cause damage to the ROKIT and
should be replaced with the correct
model.
A ROKIT pair contains a left and right
side. Confirm which ROKIT has no
power. Move the power cable from the
working ROKIT to the ROKIT with no
power. If the no power ROKIT is now
‘on’, the previously used power cable is
the problem and needs to be replaced.
If there is still no power, follow the
checklist.
Check to see if the AC outlet is
operating. Remove the power cord and
replace with a known functional
electronic device such as a lamp or
charger for a mobile device.
Check that the rear panel of the ROKIT is
not hot. Usage in direct sunlight, a hot
room with poor airflow or excessive use
at maximum levels may cause the unit
to overheat and go into thermal
protection. Turn off the power and
allow the ROKIT to cool down. If this is
not the problem, contact customer
service.
Check that the fuse has not blown.
Remove all power cords and signal
cables from the ROKIT. With a flat-head
screwdriver, remove the fuse cover and
inspect the fuse (the filament wire
should not be broken). If the fuse is
blown, replace it with the spare fuse
located in the fuse holder. If the fuse
blows again, contact customer service.
…there is sound and it is bad (excessive
hum and terrible hiss).
A ROKIT pair contains a left and right side.
Confirm which ROKIT has the bad sound.
Verify that both left and right ROKIT’s have
identical knob settings. Then simply move
the audio signal cable from the working
ROKIT to the bad sound ROKIT. If the bad
sound ROKIT produces good sound, the
previously used cable is the problem and
needs to be replaced. If there is still bad
sound, proceed with the next step.
Disconnect the audio signal cable from the
rear panel of the ROKIT. With the ROKIT
powered on, listen for the bad sound (i.e. a
slight hiss or hum). If the bad sound is no
longer there, the problem is not the ROKIT
and the audio source should be checked.
Signal cables should not be mixed with
power cables. If the ROKIT still has bad
sound, follow the checklist below and
review the “Check the audio source” box.:
Check that all audio equipment is
connected to the same ground point. This
means both studio monitors and audio
source (laptop, mixer, audio interface) are
connected to the same AC outlet ground
point.
Check that the AC outlet is not connected
to any electronics that can induce noise
into the power line (such as light dimmers,
neon signs, motors or climate control
devices such as heaters, air conditioners or
humidifiers). These devices should not be
using the same AC circuit as the audio
equipment. If the problem persists, look
into adding AC conditioning equipment to
clean the noise from the AC outlet or
contact customer service.

INSTALLATION RAPIDE
Positionnez l'interrupteur POWER sur « ON ».
Lancez la lecture audio et augmentez lentement le
volume de la source (console de mixage, interface audio
ou ordinateur) à un niveau d'écoute acceptable.
ETAPE 3
Positionnez l'interrupteur POWER sur « OFF ». Branchez le cordon d'alimentation
(fourni) dans la prise AC du moniteur de studio et dans une prise secteur.
Avertissement : Une tension secteur incorrecte peut endommager le
moniteur de studio. Assurez-vous que la tension de la prise secteur
correspond à celle du moniteur de studio (100V~, 110-120V~ ou 220-240V~).

Déterminez le signal d'entrée audio

connectez un câble audio (non fourni) à l'entrée

INTRODUCTION
Bienvenue aux nouveaux systèmes de moniteurs de studio 3 ROKIT de KRK, le fabricant le plus

COMMANDES DU SYSTEME
VOLUME - Bouton volume permettant de régler le gain du système d'entrée. En
général le bouton est positionné sur le maximum (+6 dB en sortie d'usine), il faut
régler le niveau d'entrée de votre source audio. Utilisez le bouton volume pour
synchroniser les moniteurs de studio gauche et droit.
RÉGLAGE DU HF - Permet de régler les hautes fréquences selon vos préférences
d'écoute. Le réglage d'usine est au minimum (bouton en position 0 dB).
RÉGLAGE DU LF - Permet de régler les basses fréquences selon l'acoustique de
la salle d'écoute et vos préférences personnelles. L'acoustique des salles peut
imposer le type de réglage que vous devez faire pour conserver une réponse en
fréquence appropriée du moniteur de studio. Par exemple, placé près d'un mur
ou dans un coin, il renforce les basses fréquences.

PRISE D'ALIMENTATION & PORTE-FUSIBLE - Une prise d'alimentation standard IEC
est utilisée pour alimenter le moniteur de studio. Un porte-fusible contenant deux
fusibles (dont un de rechange) se trouve en dessous de la prise.
REMARQUE - Les moniteurs de studio prennent un peu de temps avant d'atteindre
une qualité sonore optimale. En utilisation modérée, lire un album favori pendant 15 à 25 heures.

CONFIGURATION SYSTEME
La configuration globale du système est cruciale pour éviter toute interaction acoustique inutile
avec la salle d'écoute. L'acoustique naturelle d'une salle peut modifier le niveau sonore à
différentes fréquences à cause d'absorptions ou réflexions anormales. Suivez la liste ci-dessous
pour plus de précisions.
9 Le système (moniteurs de studio et table de travail) doit être placé dans le tiers avant de la
salle. Cela permet de réduire la formation de réflexion des fréquences de pointe.
9 Les côtés gauche et droit du système doivent être centrés à la même distance des murs
gauche et droit. Ceci produit une réponse en moyenne et basse fréquence uniforme et
préserve l'image stéréo.
9 Evitez toute position d'écoute (vos oreilles) d'environ 1 mètre d'un mur. Evitez également
de placer des objets volumineux (tels que lampes ou objets de décoration) à proximité du
moniteur de studio et la position d'écoute.
9 Les diffuseurs et matériaux absorbants dans les coins et au fond d'une salle permettent
d'éliminer l'interaction de la salle en empêchant les réflexions.
9 Une moquette permet d'éviter les réflexions des surfaces dures.
9 Les isolants pour moniteurs de studio (mousse ou tampons en caoutchouc) permettent
d'éliminer la résonance des basses fréquences entre le support et la table. La résonance des
basses fréquences donne des vibrations du support ou de la table entraînant des sons
indésirables.
9 Un plancher à niveau de bruit faible (pas d'interférences externes des réfrigérateurs ou des
ventilateurs) est important pour éviter le masquage des détails des basses fréquences. Les
bruits dus à la lecture du moniteur de studio doivent être éliminés.
Dans la configuration du système, les moniteurs de studio et la position d'écoute doivent être
dans une configuration à champ proche comme illustré ci-dessous :
Les moniteurs de studio gauche et droit doivent être à
environ 1 - 1,5 mètres l'un de l'autre et orientés à un angle de
60 degrés vers la position d'écoute. Mesurez la distance entre
les moniteurs de studio gauche et droit et remarquez que la
position d'écoute est à égale distance des deux côtés. Cela
formera un triangle équilatéral. Il est important que les
moniteurs de studio gauche et droit soient au même niveau.
Le moniteur de studio ROKIT est composé d'une enceinte
renfermant un tweeter (reproduisant les hautes fréquences)
et un woofer (reproduction des moyennes et basses
fréquences). Le point de l'axe acoustique où la fréquence
pleine gamme se reproduit se trouve entre le tweeter et le
woofer. L'emplacement idéal du point de l'axe acoustique est
situé au niveau de l'oreille dans la position d'écoute. Il est
conseillé d'incliner les moniteurs de studio de manière que
l'axe acoustique soit dans la bonne direction.

Garantie Gibson Pro Audio - Si jamais votre produit Gibson Pro Audio présent des défauts de fabrication ou de logiciel, Gibson Pro Audio ou l'un
des centres agréés Gibson Pro Audio aux Etats-Unis s'engage à réparer les défauts ou remplacer le produit, selon sa seule discrétion.
Période de garantie (à compter à partir de la date d'achat figurant sur la facture de vente) :
Trois (3) ans à compter de tous les moniteurs de studio. Un (1) an tous les casques, les dispositifs audio informatiques, y compris les dispositifs de
correction acoustique.
Gibson garantit toutes les pièces remplacées ou réparées pendant quatre vingt dix jours (90) à compter de la date d'expédition initiale. Dans le
cas peu probable où votre produit soit détruit, perdu ou endommagé en cours de réparation chez Gibson ou de l'un des centres de réparation
agréés Gibson Pro Audio, Gibson remplacera ce produit avec un autre du même type ou de type équivalent de valeur ne dépassant pas le prix
d'achat initial de votre produit. Toute assurance couvrant le produit, y compris mais non limité à l'assurance-valeur pour les collectionneurs, est
à la charge du propriétaire. Pour un éventuel retour sûr et rapide du produit, utilisez le carton et les matériaux d'emballage d'origine. Gibson ne
peut être tenu responsable des dommages subis pendant l'expédition en raison d'un mauvais emballage.

Pour vous enregistrer votre produit acheté chez un revendeur agréé Gibson Pro Audio aux Etats-Unis : En cas de dysfonctionnement de votre
produit Gibson Pro Audio, le revendeur ou le propriétaire doit contacter le Service clientèle au 1-800-4GIBSON (1-800-444-2766) et obtenir un
numéro d'autorisation de retour de l'agent du service clientèle. Aucun produit ne peut être retourné à Gibson sans numéro d'autorisation de
retour qui doit être inscrit à l'extérieur de l'emballage d'expédition. L'agent du service clientèle vous fournira l'adresse et d'autres instructions
sur l'expédition. Le propriétaire doit expédier le produit, fret et assurance prépayés à l'adresse fournie par le représentant du service clientèle.
