Safety Precautions

sories. Retain these documents for future reference.
Handling
• The instrument may only be used in data and telecommunications networks that are free of
external voltages.
External voltages greater than 60 V DC can destroy the instrument and also represent a
potential health hazard to the user!
• Never pull unnecessarily on the cables connected to the instrument.
• Use the instrument in undamaged condition only.
Inspect the instrument before use. Pay particular attention to damage, broken insulation, or
kinked cables.
• Use the accessories and all cables in undamaged condition only.

Operating Conditions
• Do not use the instrument and its accessories after long periods of storage under unfavor-
able conditions (e.g., humidity, dust, or extreme temperatures).
• Do not use the instrument and the accessories after extraordinary stressing due to transport.
• Do not expose the instrument to direct sunlight.
