Step 1

Prepare The Cable

The PureLink HDMI Do-It-Yourself cables use a unique technology for manufacturing your own HDMI cables. The

HDMI cable consists of 5 twisted pairs, 4 separate wires and a drain wire, used for grounding. The four blue colored

pairs are meant for transmission of TMDS signals, the twisted pair with silver aluminium foil is for Ethernet (HEAC)

and Audio Return Channel (ARC). Our compatible cables are “ID-CAB-PURE“ and “ID-CAB-ULTRA“. All parts needed

for manufaturing are included in our starter-kit “ID-STARTER“ or available separately.

First remove the insulation of the cable, then cut

the outer jacket with a sharp knife, strip the cable

jacket for about 3cm and remove the outer metal

braiding.

Remove about 2 cm aluminium foil around the ve

twisted pairs. It´s important to keep 1cm blue alu-

minium foil around the twisted pairs. You need to

be able to recognize the diernt pairs & wires in the

next step. Remove the silver foil around the single

wires so that only 6mm of silver foil is left.
