Liebe Kundin, lieber Kunde,
lesen Sie die Gebrauchsanweisung
sorgfältig vor der Benutzung des Gerätes
durch und bewahren Sie diese für den
weiteren Gebrauch auf. Das Gerät darf nur
von Personen benutzt werden, die mit den
Sicherheitsanweisungen vertraut sind.
Anschluss
Das Gerät nur an eine vorschriftsmäßig
installierte Schutzkontaktsteckdose
anschließen. Die Netzspannung muss
der auf dem Typenschild des Gerätes
angegebenen Spannung entsprechen. Das
Gerät entspricht den Richtlinien, die für die
CE-Kennzeichnung verbindlich sind.

Sicherheitshinweise
∙Um Gefährdungen zu
vermeiden und um
Sicherheitsbestimmungen
einzuhalten, dürfen
Reparaturen am Gerät und
an der Anschlussleitung
nur durch unseren
Kundendienst durchgeführt
werden. Daher im
Reparaturfall unseren
Kundendienst telefonisch
oder per Mail kontaktieren
(siehe Anhang).
∙Vor jeder Reinigung den
Netzstecker ziehen und das
Gerät abkühlen lassen.
∙ Aus Gründen der
elektrischen Sicherheit
den Wasserkocher und
den Sockel niemals in
Flüssigkeiten tauchen und
nicht unter fl ießendem
Wasser reinigen.
∙ Das Gerät regelmäßig
entkalken und bei Bedarf

Hängeschränken stehen, da der Dampf
sich darunter stauen kann.
∙Weder das Gerät noch die
Anschlussleitung dürfen einer heißen
Kochplatte oder offenem Feuer zu nahe
kommen.
∙Die Anschlussleitung nicht
herunterhängen lassen und von heißen
Geräteteilen fernhalten.
∙ Den Wasserbehälter im gefüllten, heißen
Zustand nur mit besonderer Vorsicht
transportieren.
∙ Das Gerät immer erst abkühlen lassen,
bevor frisches Wasser eingefüllt wird.
∙Den Netzstecker ziehen,
- bei Störungen während des Betriebes,
- nach jedem Gebrauch,
- vor jeder Reinigung.
Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
∙ Das Gerät ist ausschließlich zum
Erhitzen von klarem, reinem Wasser
geeignet. Jede andere Verwendung gilt
als nicht bestimmungsgemäß und kann
zu schweren Verletzungen und Schäden
am Gerät führen.
∙ Das Gerät ist nicht zum Erhitzen von
Milch, Tee oder anderen Lebensmitteln
geeignet.
Überhitzungsschutz
Der fest eingestellte Temperaturregler
schützt den Heizkörper vor Überhitzung,
falls das Gerät versehentlich ohne Wasser
eingeschaltet wurde oder die Heizplatte
verkalkt ist. Hat der Temperaturregler einmal
abgeschaltet, den Wasserkocher erst
abkühlen lassen und evtl. entkalken, bevor
er erneut betrieben wird.
Vor der ersten Inbetriebnahme
Aus hygienischen Gründen die erste
Kochfüllung des neuen Wasserkochers
wegschütten.
Kochvorgang
∙Den Wasserbehälter vom Sockel
nehmen.
∙Den Deckelöffner am Griff drücken, der
Deckel klappt auf und die gewünschte
Wassermenge kann eingefüllt werden.
Dabei die (0,5 l) und Min- Max-
Markierungen (1,0 l) für die Füllmenge
beachten.
∙ Den Deckel durch Herunterdrücken
am Fingerschutz schließen und den
Wasserbehälter wieder auf den Sockel
setzen.
∙ Netzstecker einstecken und den
Wasserkocher mit dem Ein-/Ausschalter
einschalten, die Kontrollleuchte leuchtet
auf.
∙ Der Kochvorgang beginnt und die
Dampfstoppautomatik schaltet den
Wasserkocher nach Erreichen des
Siedepunktes automatisch ab. Die
Kontrollleuchte erlischt.
∙ Soll der Kochvorgang vorher beendet
werden, den Wasserkocher mit dem Ein-/
Ausschalter ausschalten.
∙ Zum Ausgießen den Wasserbehälter vom
Sockel nehmen.
∙ Der Deckel muss beim Ausgießen
geschlossen bleiben, damit kein heißer
Dampf austritt.
∙ Nach dem Gebrauch den Netzstecker
aus der Steckdose ziehen.
∙ Kein Restwasser im Wasserbehälter
lassen.

Kabelaufwicklung
Auf der Unterseite des Sockels befi ndet
sich eine Kabelaufwicklung. Die
Kabelaufwicklung dient zur Aufbewahrung
oder Begrenzung der Kabellänge.
Entkalken
∙Je nach Kalkgehalt des Wassers bilden
sich Kalkrückstände auf der Heizplatte.
Aus diesem Grund den Wasserkocher
regelmäßig entkalken.
∙Der Garantieanspruch erlischt bei
Geräten, die aufgrund mangelnder
Entkalkung nicht einwandfrei
funktionieren.
∙Zum Entkalken eignet sich eine Mischung
aus einem halben Liter Wasser und 40 ml
Essigessenz.
∙Die Entkalkerlösung einfüllen,
∙wie gewohnt aufkochen,
∙kurz einwirken lassen.
∙Zur Reinigung den Wasserbehälter mit
klarem Wasser ausspülen.
∙Dabei für eine ausreichende Lüftung
sorgen und den Essigdampf nicht
einatmen.
∙Entkalkungsmittel nicht in emaillierte
Abfl ussbecken gießen.
Reinigung und Pfl ege
∙Vor der Reinigung den Netzstecker
ziehen und den Wasserkocher abkühlen
lassen.
∙Aus Gründen der elektrischen Sicherheit
den Wasserkocher und den Sockel
niemals in Flüssigkeiten tauchen und
nicht unter fl ießendem Wasser reinigen.
∙Zur Reinigung genügt ein angefeuchtetes
Tuch.
∙Keine scharfen oder scheuernden
Reinigungsmittel oder harte Bürsten
verwenden.
Kalkfi lter
∙ Bei starker Verschmutzung kann der
Kalkfi lter in der Ausgusszotte entnommen
und mit einer weichen Bürste gereinigt
werden.
∙ Nach der Reinigung den Kalkfi lter wieder
einsetzen. Dazu den Kalkfi lter zunächst
von innen am oberen Rand einhaken (1.)
und danach den unteren Teil des Filters
andrücken (2.).

Ersatzteile oder Zubehör können bequem
im Internet auf unserer Homepage www.
severin.de unter dem Unterpunkt „Service /
Ersatzteil-Shop“ bestellt werden.
Entsorgung
Geräte, die mit diesem Symbol
gekennzeichnet sind, müssen
getrennt vom Hausmüll entsorgt
werden. Diese Geräte enthalten
wertvolle Rohstoffe, die wiederverwertet
werden können. Eine ordnungsgemäße
Entsorgung schützt die Umwelt und die
Gesundheit Ihrer Mitmenschen. Ihre
Gemeindeverwaltung bzw. Ihr Fachhändler
gibt Auskunft über die ordnungsgemäße
Entsorgung.

Garantie
Von den nachfolgenden
Garantiebedingungen bleiben die
gesetzlichen Gewährleistungsrechte
gegenüber dem Verkäufer und eventuelle
Verkäufergarantien unberührt. Wenden Sie
sich im Garantiefall daher direkt an den
Fachhändler. Zusätzlich gewährt SEVERIN
eine Herstellergarantie von zwei Jahren ab
Kaufdatum. In diesem Zeitraum beseitigen
wir kostenlos alle Mängel, die nachweislich
auf Material- oder Fertigungsfehlern
beruhen und die Funktion wesentlich
beeinträchtigen. Weitere Ansprüche
sind ausgeschlossen. Von der Garantie
ausgenommen sind: Schäden, die auf
Nichtbeachtung der Gebrauchsanweisung,
unsachgemäße Behandlung oder
normalen Verschleiß zurückzuführen sind,
ebenso leicht zerbrechliche Teile wie z.
B. Glas, Kunststoff oder Glühlampen. Die
Garantie erlischt bei Eingriff nicht von
SEVERIN autorisierter Stellen. Sollte eine
Reparatur erforderlich werden, setzen
Sie sich bitte telefonisch oder per Mail mit
unserem Kundendienst in Verbindung. Die
Kontaktdaten fi nden Sie im Anhang der
Anleitung.

Dear Customer
Before using the appliance, read the
following instructions carefully and keep this
manual for future reference. The appliance
must only be used by persons familiar with
these instructions.
Connection to the mains supply
The appliance should only be connected to
an earthed socket installed in accordance
with the regulations. Make sure that the
supply voltage corresponds with the voltage
marked on the rating label. This product
complies with all binding CE labelling
directives.

Important safety instructions
∙ In order to avoid hazards,
and to comply with safety
requirements, repairs to this
electrical appliance or its
power cord must be carried
out by our customer service.
If repairs are needed,
please send the appliance
to our customer service

∙ Before cleaning the
appliance, ensure it is
disconnected from the
power supply and has
cooled down completely.
∙ To avoid the risk of electric
shock, do not clean the
kettle and the base with
water and do not immerse
them in water. Do not clean
under running water.

be descaled at regular
intervals. Clean the water
container as necessary with
a damp cloth.

become hot during use and
will remain so for some time
afterwards.
∙Do not leave the kettle
unattended during
operation. Use only pure
water when fi lling the
container to the desired
level, observing the Min.

from boiling water being
forced out.
∙Also beware of the danger
of scalding from hot steam
being emitted. Therefore, do
not touch any parts of the
appliance except the handle
during use.
∙ Caution! During the boiling
process and when pouring
out hot water, the lid must
be kept closed at all times.
∙ The kettle may only be
operated with the base
provided with the appliance.
∙ Never remove the water
container from the base
(or replace it) while the
appliance is switched on.
∙If the water container is not
on its base, ensure that it
cannot slip on any smooth
surface.
∙The electrical connections in
the base must be protected
at all times against possible
contact with water.
∙ Caution: Any misuse of the
appliance can cause severe
personal injury.
∙ Caution: Keep any packaging materials
well away from children – such materials
are a potential source of danger, e.g. of
suffocation.
∙ Every time the appliance is used, the
main body including the power cord as
well as any attachment fi tted should
be checked thoroughly for any defects.
Should the appliance, for instance, have
been dropped onto a hard surface, or if
excessive force has been used to pull the
power cord, it must no longer be used:
even invisible damage may have adverse
effects on the operational safety of the
appliance.
∙ The appliance must be used only on a
heat-resistant, level surface.
∙ Do not operate the appliance below a
hanging cupboard or similar object; there
is a risk that escaping steam may be
trapped underneath.
∙ Do not allow the appliance or its power
cord to come into contact with open
fl ames or any hot surfaces such as hot-
plates.
∙ Do not let the power cord hang free, and
keep the cord well away from hot parts of
the housing.
∙Take special care when you carry the
container with hot water in.
∙Always allow the appliance to cool down
before fi lling with fresh water.

∙ Always remove the plug from the wall
socket,
- in case of any malfunction,
- after use,
- during cleaning.
Intended use
∙ This appliance is solely designed for
heating clean, fresh water. Any other form
of use must be considered improper and
may lead to personal injuries or material
damage.
∙ It is not suitable for heating milk, tea or
other food or beverages.
Thermal safety cut-out
The pre-set thermal safety cut-out protects
the heating element from overheating should
the appliance be erroneously switched on
without any water, or if the heating plate
is calcifi ed. Once the safety cut-out has
switched off the kettle, it must be allowed to
cool down suffi ciently, or must be descaled
before it is switched on again.
Before using for the fi rst time
To clean the kettle, boil and discard the fi rst
fi lling of water.
Boiling water
∙ Remove the water container from its
base.
∙Press the lid-opener on the handle to
open the lid, and fi ll the container with
water to the desired level, observing the
Min Max (0.5 l) and (1.0 l) markings.
∙Close the lid by pushing down on the
fi nger guard, and then put the container
back on its base.
∙ Insert the plug into a suitable wall socket
and press the On/Off switch; the indicator
light comes on.
∙ The boiling process begins. After
reaching the boiling point, the appliance
is automatically switched off by the
integral steam cut-off device; the
indicator light goes out.
∙ To interrupt the boiling process, set the
On/Off switch to its Off position.
∙ To pour hot water, remove the container
from its base.
∙ To prevent hot steam from being emitted,
ensure that the lid remains closed while
pouring out the water.
∙ Remove the plug from the wall outlet
after use (the red indicator light goes
out).
∙ Do not leave any residual water in the
container.
Power cord wind-up storage
The wind-up power cord storage under the
base facilitates limiting the length of the
power cord during use and makes it easy to
store the appliance.
Descaling
∙Depending on the water quality in your
area, lime deposits may build up on the
heating element. It is advisable to remove
any such deposits at regular intervals.
∙Any warranty claim will be null and
void if the appliance malfunctions
because of insuffi cient descaling.
∙A mixture of 0.5 litres of water and 40 ml
of vinegar essence is suitable.
∙Pour the descaler in.
∙Switch the appliance on and let the

solution reach boiling point.
∙Leave it to take effect for a short period.
∙To clean the container after descaling,
rinse thoroughly with clean water.
∙ During descaling, ensure suffi cient
ventilation and do not inhale any vinegar
vapours.
∙Do not pour descalers down enamel-
coated sinks.
Cleaning and care
∙ Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it
is disconnected from the power supply
and has cooled down completely.
∙ To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not
clean the kettle and the base with water
and do not immerse them in water. Do
not clean under running water.
∙ For cleaning, a slightly damp, lint-free
cloth may be used.
∙Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning
solutions, and do not use hard brushes
for cleaning.
Scale fi lter
∙ If necessary, the scale fi lter can be
removed from the spout and cleaned with
a soft brush.
∙ Re-insert the fi lter afterwards – hook it
on to the inside of the upper rim (1.) fi rst,
and then push the lower part into place
(2.).
Disposal
Devices marked with this symbol
must be disposed of separately
from your household waste, as
they contain valuable materials
which can be recycled. Proper disposal
protects the environment and human health.
Your local authority or retailer can provide
information on the matter.
Guarantee
This product is guaranteed against defects
in materials and workmanship for a period
of two years from the date of purchase.
Under this guarantee the manufacturer
undertakes to repair or replace any parts
found to be defective, providing the product
is returned to one of our authorised service
centres. This guarantee is only valid if the
appliance has been used in accordance with
the instructions, and provided that it has not
been modifi ed, repaired or interfered with
by any unauthorised person, or damaged
through misuse.
This guarantee naturally does not cover
wear and tear, nor breakables such as
glass and ceramic items, bulbs etc. This
guarantee does not affect your statutory
rights, nor any legal rights you may have
as a consumer under applicable national
legislation governing the purchase of goods.
If the product fails to operate and needs
to be returned, pack it carefully, enclosing
your name and address and the reason for
return. If within the guarantee period, please
also provide the guarantee card and proof
of purchase.
