Changing the fuse
There is a fuse in the car charger for protecting the
vehicle’s on-board power supply. If the device no
longer works, check the fuse and replace if necessary.
♦ Open the car charger by carefully unscrewing the
screw insert anticlockwise (using pliers if neces-
sary) and removing it.
♦ Remove the plug tip from the fuse and take out
the fuse.
♦ Now insert a new type F2AL/250 V fuse into the
car charger, fit the plug tip to the slightly protrud-
ing end of the fuse and screw the previously
removed screw insert back in.
DANGER
► Always use the same type of fuse.
Otherwise there is a risk of fire.
NOTE
If the device still does not work or the fuse blows
again immediately, the device is defective. In this
case, please contact the Service Hotline (see
chapter "Service").
Cleaning and storage
IMPORTANT
► Always disconnect the device from the 12/24 V
connection when cleaning and when it is not
being used.
► The temperatures inside a vehicle can reach
extreme values in summer and winter. Conse-
quently, to avoid damage to the device, you
should not store it in the vehicle.
▯ When necessary clean the device with a soft cloth.
▯ Store the device somewhere clean, dry, free of
dust and out of direct sunlight.
Disposal
The adjacent symbol of a crossed-out wheelie
bin means that this device is subject to
Directive 2012/19/EU. This directive states
that this device may not be disposed of in the normal
household waste at the end of its useful life, but must
be handed over to specially set-up collection
locations, recycling depots or disposal companies.
This disposal is free of charge for the user.
Protect the environment and dispose of this
device properly.
You can obtain further information from your local
disposal company or the city or local authority.

Dear Customer,
This appliance has a 3-year warranty valid from the
date of purchase. If this product has any faults, you,
the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your statutory
rights are not restricted in any way by the warranty
described below.
The validity period of the warranty starts from the
date of purchase. Please keep your original receipt in
a safe place. This document will be required as proof
of purchase.
If any material or production fault occurs within three
years of the date of purchase of the product, we will
either repair or replace the product for you at our
discretion. This warranty service is dependent on you
presenting the defective appliance and the proof of
purchase (receipt) and a short written description of
the fault and its time of occurrence.
If the defect is covered by the warranty, your product
will either be repaired or replaced by us. The repair or
replacement of a product does not signify the begin-
ning of a new warranty period.
The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs
effected under the warranty. This also applies to
replaced and repaired components. Any damage
and defects present at the time of purchase must be
reported immediately after unpacking. Repairs car-
ried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be
subject to a fee.
This appliance has been manufactured in accordance
with strict quality guidelines and inspected meticu-
lously prior to delivery.
The warranty covers material faults or production
faults. The warranty does not extend to product parts
subject to normal wear and tear or fragile parts such
as switches, batteries, baking moulds or parts made
of glass.
The warranty does not apply if the product has been
damaged, improperly used or improperly maintained.
The directions in the operating instructions for the
product regarding proper use of the product are
to be strictly followed. Uses and actions that are
discouraged in the operating instructions or which are
warned against must be avoided.
This product is intended solely for private use and
not for commercial purposes. The warranty shall be
deemed void in cases of misuse or improper han-
dling, use of force and modifications/repairs which
have not been carried out by one of our authorised
Service centres.

duct. These operating instructions are a part of this
product. They contain important information in regard
to safety, use and disposal. Before using the product,
familiarise yourself with all of these operating and

product, to any future owner.
Intended use
The car charger is a car accessory for connection to
the vehicle socket and is designed solely for charging
mobile phones and 5 V devices with a USB port.
Any other use or usage beyond those mentioned is
considered improper use and can result in damages
and injuries. Claims of any kind for damages resulting
from improper use or unauthorised modifications will
not be considered. This product is intended for private
use only and not for commercial applications.

Safety instructions
■ Before use check the device for visible external
damage. Do not put into operation a device that
is damaged or has been dropped.
■ Damaged cables or connections should be replaced
by authorised qualified specialists or by the customer
service department.
■ Protect the device from moisture and liquid pen-
etration.
■ Never subject the device to extreme heat or humidity.
This applies especially when storing in a car. With
long periods of immobilisation car interiors and
glove boxes build up extreme heat levels. Remove
electrical and electronic devices from the car.
■ This device is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with restricted physical, sensory
or mental abilities or lack of experience and / or
knowledge unless, of course, they are supervised
by a person responsible for their safety or obtain
from that person instructions on how the device is
to be used. Children should be supervised to make
sure that they do not play with the device.

DANGER! Do not allow children to play with
the packaging material! Keep all packaging mate-
rials away from children. Risk of suffocation!
■ Do not operate the appliance if you are driving
a car or other vehicle. This presents a source of
danger in road traffic.
■ When using the car charger, ensure that it does
not interfere with the steering, braking or the op-
eration of other vehicle systems (such as airbags)
and does not restrict your field of view when
driving.
■ Do not place the car charger or the connection
cable in or near the expansion area of the airbag,
since the charger could be flung through the vehi-
cle interior in the event of airbag deployment and
cause serious injuries.
■ If you notice a burning smell or smoke coming
from the device, disconnect it from the power sup-
ply immediately.
■ Never open the housing. Opening the housing will
invalidate the warranty.

Operation
Unpack the charging device and all adapters and look
for the adapter suitable for your mobile phone.
IMPORTANT
► Note the specifications of your mobile phone!
Mobile phones with a supply voltage of less
than 5.5 V can be damaged by charging via
the corresponding adapter. In this case, use the
original connecting cable supplied with your
mobile phone and connect it to the USB port of
the charger.
To charge an iPhone / iPod, use the original cable
with the USB port. First check to make sure that the
adapter fits.
NOTE
► Do not apply excessive force thus avoiding dam-
age to the connector. This also applies when
removing the connector. Many adapters have to
be pressed lightly downwards (Sony Ericsson™)
to remove the adapter from the phone.
▯ Now plug the charging device into the 12/24 V
power socket of your car. As a rule this is the ciga-
rette lighter socket in the dashboard of your car.
Numerous vehicles have a second socket in the
rear seat area or in the boot. 24 Volt batteries are
used, primarily, in trucks or on boats.
▯ The green LED signalises the operating mode display
of the charging device, it also lights up if no mobile
phone is connected. Depending on the vehicle type
it is possible that the ignition has to be switched on
first. The charging process begins immediately and is
shown in your mobile phone’s display.
▯ When your mobile phone shows a fully charged
battery remove the charging device from the
12/24 V connection. Remove the charging device
only by grasping the plug never pull it out by the
power cord.
IMPORTANT
► Never connect the device without charging your
mobile phone! The device also consumes power
in standby mode and therefore must be discon-
nected from the on-board power supply after
use! If the motor is not running the battery will
otherwise be discharged.
