instructionstousethemachine.

C.Stopusingthemachinewhilepeople,especially

children,orpetsarenearby.

D.Onlyusethemachineindaylightorgoodarticiallight.

E.Beforeusingthemachineandafteranyimpact,check

forsignsofwearordamageandrepairasnecessary.

F.Neveroperatethemachinewithdamagedguardsor

withouttheguardsinplace.

G.Keephandsandfeetawayfromthecuttingmeansatall

3.Electricalsafety

A.Powertoolplugsmustmatchtheoutlet.Never

modifythepluginanyway.Donotuseany

adapterplugswithearthed(grounded)powertools.

Unmodiedplugsandmatchingoutletswillreducerisk

ofelectricshock.

B.Avoidbodycontactwithearthedorgrounded

surfacessuchaspipes,radiators,rangesand

refrigerators.Thereisanincreasedriskofelectric

shockifyourbodyisearthedorgrounded.

C.Donotexposepowertoolstorainorwetconditions.

Waterenteringapowertoolwillincreasetheriskof

electricshock.

D.Donotabusethecord.Neverusethecordfor

carrying,pullingorunpluggingthepowertool.

Keepcordawayfromheat,oil,sharpedgesor

movingparts.Damagedorentangledcordsincrease

theriskofelectricshock.

E.Whenoperatingapowertooloutdoors,usean

extensioncordsuitableforoutdooruse.Useofa

4.Personalsafety

ofinattentionwhileoperatingpowertoolsmayresult

B.Usepersonalprotectiveequipment.Alwayswear

eyeprotection.Protectiveequipmentsuchasdust

mask,non-skidsafetyshoes,hardhat,orhearing

protectionusedforappropriateconditionswillreduce

personalinjuries.

C.Preventunintentionalstarting.Ensuretheswitch

isintheoff-positionbeforeconnectingtopower

sourceand/orbatterypack,pickinguporcarrying

thetool.Carryingpowertoolswithyourngeronthe

switchorenergizingpowertoolsthathavetheswitch

oninvitesaccidents.

D.Removeanyadjustingkeyorwrenchbeforeturning

thepowertoolon.Awrenchorakeyleftattachedto

thepowertoolmayresultinpersonalinjury.

itonandoff.Anypowertoolthatcannotbecontrolled

withtheswitchisdangerousandmustberepaired.

C.Beforeusingthemachineandafteranyimpact,

checkforsignsofwearordamageandrepairas

necessary.Afterextendingnewcutterline,always

returnthemachinetoitsnormaloperatingposition

beforeswitchingiton.

D.Disconnecttheplugfromthepowersourceand/or

thebatterypackfromthepowertoolbeforemaking

anyadjustments,changingaccessories,orstoring

powertools.Suchpreventivesafetymeasuresreduce

theriskofstartingthepowertoolaccidentally.

thatcanmakeaconnectionfromoneterminalto

another.Shortingthebatteryterminalstogethermay

causeburnsorare.

D.Underabusiveconditions,liquidmaybeejected

fromthebattery;avoidcontact.IFcontact

accidentallyoccurs,ushwithwater.Ifliquid

contactseyes,additionallyseekmedicalhelp.Liquid

ejectedfromthebatterymaycauseirritationorburns.

7.Service

A.Haveyourpowertoolservicedbyaqualied

repairpersonusingonlyidenticalreplacement

parts.Thiswillensurethatthesafetyofthepowertool

ismaintained.

8.BatterySafety

A.Donotchargeapplianceinrain,orinwetlocations.

B.Donotusebattery-operatedapplianceintherain.

C.Useonlythefollowingtypeandsizebattery:Toro

batterymodel88515or88516andbatterycharger

88517or88519.

D.Removeordisconnectthebatterybeforeservicing,

cleaning,orremovingmaterialfromthegardening

appliance.

E.Donotdisposeofthebatteryinare.Thecellmay

explode.Checkwithlocalcodesforpossiblespecial

disposalinstructions.

F.Donotopenormutilatethebattery.Releasedelectrolyte

iscorrosiveandmaycausedamagetotheeyesorskin.

Itmaybetoxicifswallowed.

G.Donotopenormutilatethebattery.Releasedelectrolyte

isammableandcancausedamageifexposedtore.

H.Exercisecareinhandlingbatteriesinordernottoshort

thebatterywithconductingmaterialssuchasrings,

bracelets,andkeys.Thebatteryorconductormay

overheatandcauseburns.

I.Idealchargingtemperatureisbetween5°Cand40°C

(41°and104°F).Chargingoutsideofthistemperature

rangewillincreasethechargingtime.

Thisapplianceisnotintendedforusebypersons(including

children)withreducedphysical,sensoryormentalcapabilities,or

lackofexperienceandknowledge,unlesstheyhavebeengiven

supervisionorinstructionconcerninguseoftheappliancebya

personresponsiblefortheirsafety.

Childrenshouldbesupervisedtoensurethattheydonotplay

withtheappliance.
