Die Bedienungsanleitung ist Teil dieses Produkts. Sie enthält wichtige

Gerät spielen. Reinigung und Benutzerwartung dürfen nicht von Kindern

Hinweise!
• Önen Sie nicht das Gehäuse. Das Gerät enthält keine zu wartenden Teile.
• Bei Manipulation des CO-Melders besteht die Gefahr einer Fehlfunktion.
• Nehmen Sie das Gerät bei sichtbaren Schäden nicht in Betrieb.
• Bei Sach- oder Personenschäden, die durch unsachgemäße Handhabung oder
Nichtbeachten der Sicherheitshinweise verursacht werden, übernehmen wir
keine Haftung! In solchen Fällen erlischt die Gewährleistung/ Garantie!
• Eine andere Verwendung als in dieser Anleitung beschrieben, führt zur
Beschädigung des Gerätes. Nehmen Sie keine bauliche Veränderung am Gerät
vor. Andernfalls kann ein sicherer Betrieb nicht gewährleistet werden.
• Das Gerät muss alle 10 Jahre ausgetauscht werden.
• Das Gerät darf nicht abgedeckt oder überstrichen werden.
Decken Sie den Melder bei Renovierungsarbeiten ab. Denken Sie daran die
Abdeckung nach der Renovierung wieder zu entfernen (exzessive Dämpfe von
Farben, Lösungsmitteln, Reinigungsmitteln etc. können den Sensor beschädi-
gen oder verschlechtern).
• DIES IST KEIN RAUCHWARNMELDER!
Dieser CO-Melder wurde entwickelt, um Kohlenmonoxid aus JEDER Verbren-
nungsquelle aufzuspüren. Das Gerät reagiert nicht auf Flammen, Rauch oder Gas.
• Um die Schutzfunktion des Melders zu gewährleisten, muss in regelmäßigen
Abständen die LED POWER (siehe Tabelle Alarmsignale und LED-Anzeige)
kontrolliert werden.
• Der CO-Melder stellt keinen Ersatz für die richtige Wartung von Heizungs -
anlagen oder das Kehren des Kamins dar.
2. BESTIMMUNGSGEMÄSSE VERWENDUNG
DIESES GERÄT IST DAFÜR VORGESEHEN, PERSONEN VOR DEN AKUTEN
WIRKUNGEN VON KOHLENMONOXID ZU SCHÜTZEN. ES KANN PERSONEN
MIT BESONDEREN MEDIZINISCHEN EIGENSCHAFTEN KEINE VOLLSTÄNDIGE
SICHERHEIT BIETEN. IM ZWEIFELSFALL SOLLTEN SIE EINEN ARZT BEFRAGEN.

Gehör schädigen kann. Halten Sie daher beim Funktionstest einen Mindest-

3. BESONDERE SICHERHEITSHINWEISE BEIM UMGANG MIT
BATTERIEN
WARNUNG! LEBENSGEFAHR! Batterien gehören nicht in Kinderhände.
Suchen Sie im Falle eines Verschluckens sofort einen Arzt auf!
VORSICHT! EXPLOSIONSGEFAHR!
Laden Sie nicht auadbare Batterien niemals wieder auf, schließen Sie sie
nicht kurz und / oder önen Sie sie nicht!
• Werfen Sie Batterien niemals ins Feuer oder Wasser!
• Setzen Sie Batterien keiner mechanischen Belastung aus!
Gefahr des Auslaufens der Batterien
• Im Falle eines Auslaufens der Batterien entfernen Sie diese sofort aus dem
Gerät, um Beschädigungen zu vermeiden!
• Vermeiden Sie den Kontakt mit Haut, Augen und Schleimhäuten! Spülen Sie
bei Kontakt mit Batteriesäure die betroenen Stellen sofort mit klarem
Wasser und suchen Sie umgehend einen Arzt auf!
• Verwenden Sie nur Batterien des gleichen Typs! Alte Batterien nicht mit neuen
mischen!
• Vermeiden Sie extreme Bedingungen und Temperaturen, die auf Batterien
einwirken können, z.B. auf Heizkörper / direkte Sonnenbestrahlung.
• Entfernen Sie Batterien, wenn sie längere Zeit nicht verwendet worden sind,
aus dem Gerät!
Gefahr der Gerätebeschädigung
• Ausschließlich den angegebenen Batterietyp verwenden!
• Achten Sie beim Einlegen auf die richtige Polarität! Diese wird im Batteriefach
angezeigt!
• Reinigen Sie Batterie- und Gerätekontakt vor dem Einlegen falls erforderlich!
• Entfernen Sie verbrauchte Batterien umgehend aus dem Gerät!
Fluchtplan im Brandfall
Es wird empfohlen, sich mit allen Hausbewohnern gemeinsam einen Fluchtplan
auszuarbeiten. Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Fluchtweg unter keinen Umständen
durch Hindernisse versperrt ist, Wählen Sie für den Fluchtweg den schnellsten
und sichersten Weg ins Freie.
4. LIEFERUMFANG
Unverzüglich nach dem Auspacken muss der Lieferumfang Ihres Melders auf
Vollständigkeit kontrolliert werden. Zudem muss auf einen einwandfreien
Zustand des Melders geachtet werden.

6. GERÄTEÜBERSICHT
Betriebsanzeige
Die POWER-Anzeige (grüne LED) zeigt den normalen Betriebszustand des
CO-Melders an. Die LED blinkt alle 40 Sekunden auf.
Fehlerwarnung
Die FAULT-Anzeige (gelbe LED) zeigt den Fehler- oder Warnstatus des CO-Melders an.
Alarmfunktion
Die ALARM-Anzeige (rote LED) zeigt den Alarmstatus des CO-Melders an.
Test-/Stummschalt-Taste
Mit der TEST/SILENCE-Taste wird das Gerät getestet. Halten Sie sie gedrückt,
um die Test-Funktion zu aktivieren. Im Falle eines Alarm- oder eines anderen
Warnsignals, kann über diese Taste das Gerät stummgeschaltet werden.
Alarmton
Der Alarmton wird verwendet, um Alarmwarn- und Fehlerwarninformationen zu
senden.
7. BEDIENUNG UND MONTAGE
In diesem Kapitel werden die grundlegenden Funktionen des Melders erläutert.
Lesen Sie dieses Kapitel sorgfältig durch, damit Sie alle Funktionen verstehen und
einsetzen können.
7.1 Auswahl des Montageortes
AN WELCHEM ORT SOLLTE DER CO-MELDER INSTALLIERT WERDEN
Um eine erhöhte Konzentration des gefährlichen Atemgifts frühzeitig zu
erkennen, gehört in alle Räume mit „brennstobetriebenen“ Geräten (wie z.B.
Gastherme, Ölheizung oder Kamin) sowie in Räume, in denen sich Personen län-
gere Zeit aufhalten (z.B. Wohn- und Schlafzimmer), ein Kohlenmonoxid-Melder.
Die Montage richtet sich danach, ob sich im Raum eine Verbrennungseinrichtung
bendet oder nicht:
In Räumen ohne „brennstobetriebene“ Geräte, Beispiel Schlafzimmer
In Schlafzimmern sollte der Gefahrenmelder in Atemhöhe (in liegender Position-
ca. 45 cm über dem Boden) angebracht werden.

In Räumen ohne „brennstobetriebene“ Geräte, Beispiel Wohn- oder
Arbeitszimmer
In Aufenthaltsräumen sollte der Gefahrenmelder in Atemhöhe (also in Kopfhöhe
ca. 1-1,5m) – in Abhängigkeit der Aktivität, die im jeweiligen Raum am häugsten
durchgeführt wird - angebracht werden.

Deckenmontage in einem Raum mit „brennstobetriebenen“ Geräten
Der Gefahrenmelder sollte bei Deckenmontage zentral im Raum an der Decke mit
mind. 30 cm Abstand zur Wand montiert werden, nicht direkt über der Heizung
oder dem Gasherd.

Wandmontage in einem Raum mit „brennstobetriebenen“ Geräten
Wenn eine Deckenmontage nicht möglich ist:
Der Gefahrenmelder sollte mit mind. 15 cm Abstand zur Decke und 1-3 Metern
zur Verbrennungseinrichtung (oberhalb von Türen und Fenstern) montiert werden.

Hinweis!
Der CO-Melder sollte so platziert werden, dass Sie ihn während des
Schlafens hören können.
Für eine Montage nicht geeignet sind
• Umgebungen innerhalb von 1,5 m von jeder Feuerungsanlage die mit Gas
betrieben wird.
• Orte mit hohen Konzentrationen von Staub, Schmutz oder Ölen/Fetten.
• Feuchträume mit hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit. Installieren Sie den Melder
mindestens 3 m vom Badezimmer entfernt.
• sehr kalte oder heiße Orte, an denen die Temperatur weniger als -10 ºC oder
mehr als 40ºC erreichen kann.
• Umgebungen, deren Luftfeuchtigkeit unter 30% oder über 90% relativer
Feuchte liegen
•
Orte mit direktem Sonnenlicht, direkt über einem Waschbecken oder Kochgerät.
•
Hinter Gardinen, Vorhängen, Möbeln oder Stellen an denen eine Luftzirkulation
nicht gewährleistet ist.
• Ungeheizte Kellerräume und Garagen
• Orte, an denen der Melder chemischen Lösungsmitteln oder Reinigern
ausgesetzt sein könnte.
• Nahe Lüftungsönungen, Abzugsrohren und Kaminen.
• Nahe Heizungen oder Kochgerätschaften.
• In der Nähe von Deckenventilatoren, Heizlüftern, Klimaanlagen und
Frischluftönungen.
8. INSTALLATION UND INBETRIEBNAHME
Der CO-Melder sollte von einer fachkundigen Person installiert werden.
WARNUNGEN
• Die Installation eines Kohlenmonoxid-Detektors sollte nicht als Ersatz für die
ordnungsgemäße Installation, Verwendung und Wartung von Brennstover-
brennungsgeräten einschließlich geeigneter Be- und Entlüftungssysteme ver-
wendet werden.
• Es besteht die Gefahr eines elektrischen Schlags oder einer Fehlfunktion,
wenn das Gerät manipuliert wird.
• Die folgenden Substanzen können die Zuverlässigkeit des Geräts kurz- oder
langfristig beeinträchtigen: Methan, Propan, Isobuten, Isopropanol, Ethylen,
Benzol, Toluol, Ethylacetat, Schwefelwassersto, Schwefeldioxide, Produkte
auf Alkoholbasis, Farben, Verdünner, Lösungsmittel, Klebstoe, Haarsprays,
Aftershaves, Parfüms und einige Reinigungsmittel
• Hohe Konzentrationen von Tabakrauch können zu Fehlalarmen führen.
• Dieser Kohlenmonoxidalarm kann auf kurzzeitiges Ausströmen von Gasemis-
sionen ansprechen, z. B. bei der ersten Inbetriebnahme eines Geräts.
• Um Verletzungen zu vermeiden, muss dieses Gerät gemäß den Installations-
anweisungen sicher an der Wand befestigt werden.
Markieren Sie zwei Bohrlöcher (Abstand 52 mm) und bohren mit einem 5 mm-
Bohrer Löcher in die Wand. Achten Sie dabei darauf, keine Leitungen zu
beschädigen! Drücken Sie die Plastikdübel in die Bohrlöcher und drehen die zwei
mitgelieferten Schrauben ein, bis die Schraubenköpfe noch ca. 5 mm hervorste-
hen. Setzen Sie nun die Einhängeönungen der Batterie-Abdeckung auf der
Geräterückseite darauf.
8.1 Batterien einlegen
Önen Sie die Batterie-Abdeckung auf der Geräte-Rückseite.
Legen Sie unter Beachtung der Polarität (+/–) die 2 Mignon AA Batterien in das
Gerät ein. Es leuchten alle drei LEDs kurz gemeinsam auf und der CO-Melder be-
stätigt den Start mit einem kurzen Signalton. Nach mehrmaligem Blinken der
grünen LED geht das Gerät in den normalen Betriebsmodus über. Dann blinkt die
grüne LED alle 40 Sekunden und zeigt damit an, dass das Gerät ordnungsgemäß
funktioniert.
8.2 Zusätzliche Funktionen
Der CO-Melder wird mit folgenden zusätzlichen benutzerfreundlichen Funktionen
geliefert:
Alarmfunktion
Wenn der CO-Melder einen gefährlichen CO-Wert feststellt, ertönt ein anhaltendes
Signal. Das Alarmsignal besteht aus 4 schnellen Signalen, gefolgt von 5 Sekunden
Pause. Die rote ALARM-LED blinkt im selben Muster. Dieser Zyklus wiederholt
sich, solange die Gefahrensituation aufrecht ist.
Der Alarm startet mit den ersten 8 Tönen in einer niedrigeren Lautstärke (<85 dB)
und wechselt erst dann in eine höhere Lautstärke (>85 dB).

Während sich das Gerät im Alarmmodus bendet und die „TEST/SILENCE“ Taste
gedrückt wird, wird das Alarmsignal um ca. 10 Minuten unterdrückt. Dabei blinkt
die rote ALARM-LED weiterhin und signalisiert damit, dass das Gerät im „Alarm-
Stummschaltmodus“ läuft.
Hinweise:
- Das akustische Alarmsignal wird ca. 10 Minuten nach dem Betätigen der
„TEST/SILENCE“ Taste wieder aktiviert, sollte die CO-Konzentration in der Luft
weiterhin 50 ppm und mehr betragen.
- Das akustische Alarmsignal kann nicht unterdrückt werden, wenn der Alarm
bei einer CO-Konzentration über 200 ppm liegt.
- Die Alarm-Unterdrückung kann während einer Alarmperiode nur einmal
aktiviert werden.
Warnung: Bevor diese Funktion aktiviert wird, sollte man sich den Risiken einer
gefährlichen CO-Konzentration bewusst sein!
Fehlerwarnung
Ein Fehler ist aufgetreten, wenn das Gerät alle 8 Sekunden zweimal piepst und
dabei die gelbe FAULT-LED aufblinkt.
Das Gerät hat in diesem Zustand keine Erkennungsfunktion und reagiert nicht auf CO.
Der CO-Melder muss ersetzt werden. Im Fehlerzustand kann der Melder durch
drücken der „TEST/SILENCE“ Taste für ca. 9 Stunden in einen Ruhezustand versetzt
werden. Dabei blinkt die gelbe FAULT-LED weiterhin.
Warnung vor niedriger Batteriespannung
Wenn alle 40 Sekunden ein Signal ertönt und die gelbe FAULT-LED blinkt zeigt es
an, dass die Batterie schwach ist.
Ein Drücken der Taste „TEST/SILENCE“ versetzt den Melder für ca. 9 Stunden in
einen Ruhezustand. Dabei blinkt die gelbe FAULT-LED weiterhin.
Hinweis: Die Batterie muss sofort getauscht werden, da sonst die Erkennungs-
funktion verloren geht. Siehe Kapitel 8.5 »Batterien wechseln«
Warnung bei Ende der Lebensdauer des Gerätes
Wenn alle 40 Sekunden dreimal ein Signal ertönt und die gelbe FAULT-LED blinkt
zeigt es das Ende der Geräte-Lebensdauer an. Der CO-Melder muss ersetzt wer-
den. Ein Drücken der Taste „TEST/SILENCE“ versetzt den Melder für ca. 9 Stunden
in einen Ruhezustand. Dabei blinkt die gelbe FAULT-LED weiterhin.

8.3 Was tun bei Alarm
1. IGNORIEREN SIE NIEMALS DEN CO-ALARM!
2. Verlassen Sie umgehend das Gebäude mit allen in der Wohnung bendlichen
Personen
3. Önen Sie Türen und Fenster, sofern möglich
4. Nehmen Sie ihr Mobiltelefon mit!
5. Rufen Sie per Notruf den Rettungsdienst und die Feuerwehr
6. Warten Sie draußen auf die Einsatzkräfte.
7. Informieren Sie nach Möglichkeit weitere Bewohner/Nachbarn über die
Gegensprechanlage oder telefonisch. Gehen Sie nicht zurück ins Haus!
8.
Ziehen Sie einen qualizierten Techniker zu Rate, um die CO-Quelle zu
lokalisieren.
Gesundheitliche Auswirkungen von Kohlenmonoxid
CO wird »Lautloser Mörder» genannt, da es ein unsichtbares, geruchs- und
geschmackloses Gas ist. Die Entstehung erfolgt durch nicht vollständiges
Verbrennen von fossilen Brennstoen. Zu diesen Brennstoen gehören:
Holz, Kohle, Holzkohle, Öl, Erdgas, Benzin, Kerosin und Propan.
Kohlenmonoxid ist ein farbloses, geruchloses und nicht reizendes Gas, das als
chemisches Erstickungsmittel eingestuft wird, dessen toxische Wirkung eine
direkte Folge der Hypoxie ist, die durch eine bestimmte Exposition entsteht.
Das Gerät kann die chronischen Auswirkungen einer KohlenmonoxidExposition
nicht verhindern und schützt Personen nicht vor einer besonderen Gefahr.
Eine CO-Vergiftung ruft grippeähnliche Symptome wie Kopfschmerz, Engege-
fühl/Druck auf der Brust, Schwindel, Müdigkeit, Verwirrung, Herzrasen, Übelkeit
bis hin zu Erbrechen, Bewusstlosigkeit und Atemschwierigkeiten hervor. Da eine
CO-Vergiftung den Blutdruck des Opfers in die Höhe treibt, kann die Haut des

Viele Fälle von beobachteten CO-Vergiftungen zeigen, dass die Opfer zwar
merken, dass es ihnen nicht gut geht, sie sind aber so desorientiert, dass keine
Selbstrettung mehr möglich ist.

Extreme CO-Konzentrationen können zu bleibenden Schäden oder
Behinderungen führen oder den Tod zur Folge haben.
GEWÖHNLICHE RISIKEN DIE ZU EINER CO-VERGIFTUNG FÜHREN KÖNNEN
Kohlenmonoxid (CO) entsteht generell bei der unvollständigen Verbrennung
kohlenstohaltiger Kraft- und Brennstoe.
Gefahrenquellen:
- Technische Defekte, mangelnde Wartung oder Manipulationen an der
Verbrennungseinrichtung oder Abgasanlage
- Bei Verstopfung der Abgasanlage kann bei raumluftunabhängigen
Gasthermen, Öl-/Pelletheizungen oder Kaminöfen CO z.B. in Wohn- und
Schlafräume gelangen.
- Unzureichende Belüftung beim Betrieb von Gasthermen bzw. einem
gasbetriebenen Durchlauferhitzer
- Kamine der falschen Größe
- technischer Defekt eines Gasherds
- Holzpelletlager – Holzpellets können noch Monate nach der Herstellung
giftiges CO freisetzen
- Gartengrills oder Heizpilze, die in geschlossenen Räumen benutzt werden
- unsachgemäßes Shisha Rauchen
8.4 Funktionskontrolle/-test
Wichtig:
Der Funktionstest ist wöchentlich durchzuführen.
Um den Funktionstest durchzuführen, drücken und halten Sie die TEST/SILENCE
Taste. Das Testsignal besteht aus 4 schnellen Signalen, gefolgt von 5 Sekunden
Pause. Die rote ALARM-LED blinkt im selben Muster. Das Testsignal wiederholt
sich, solange die Taste gedrückt bleibt.
Ertönt kein Testsignal, dann muss der Melder sofort ersetzt werden.
Versuchen Sie nicht, Veränderungen am Gerät oder eine Reparatur durchzuführen.
Dies birgt die Gefahr eine Fehlfunktion und die Garantie würde verfallen.
8.5 Batterien wechseln
Wenn alle 40 Sekunden ein Signal ertönt und die gelbe FAULT-LED blinkt zeigt es
an, dass die Batterie schwach ist. Die Batterien (siehe Kapitel 5, ”Technische
Daten“) müssen ersetzt werden.
1. Nehmen Sie das Gerät von der Wand
2. Önen Sie die Batterie-Abdeckung auf der Geräte-Rückseite.
3. Entfernen Sie die alten Batterien
4. Legen Sie unter Beachtung der Polarität (+/–) die neuen Batterien in das
Gerät ein.
5. Überprüfen Sie, ob die grüne LED ca. 15 mal in den ersten 60 Sekunden blinkt.
6.
Schließen Sie die Batterie-Abdeckung und hängen das Gerät wieder an die Wand.
7. Führen Sie einen Funktionstest durch.
9. WARTUNG
- Testen Sie das Gerät einmal pro Woche über den Testknopf.
- Der Melder darf nicht Wasser oder Staub ausgesetzt werden.
- Mit einem Staubsauger die Önungen des CO-Melders aussaugen.
- Wischen Sie die Oberäche des CO-Melders mit einem feuchten Tuch ab.

Verwenden Sie niemals Reinigungsmittel, da der Sensor Schaden nehmen kann.
- Testen Sie den Alarm nach der Reinigung.
- Überprüfen Sie, ob die grüne LED ungefähr alle 40 Sek. blinkt.

Fehlfunktionen auslösen: Methan, Propan, Isobuten, Isopropanol, Ethylen,
Benzol, Toluol, Ethylacetat, Schwefelwassersto, Schwefeldioxide, Produkte auf
Alkoholbasis, Farben, Verdünner, Lösungsmittel, Klebstoe, Haarsprays, Parfüme
und sonstige Reinigungsmittel.

2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The operating instructions are part of this product. They contain important
information on safety, use and disposal. Before using the device, familia-
rise yourself with all operating and safety instructions. Only use the device as
described for the specied area of application. Also hand over all documents
when you pass the device on to third parties.

Never leave children unattended with the packaging material. There is the danger
of suocation through ingestion or inhalation of small parts or lms.
Children often tend to underestimate the dangers.
Keep the device away from children. It is not a toy.
• This device can be used by children from 8 years as well as persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, provided that they are supervised or have been given instruction
concerning the safe use of the device and that they understand the resulting
risks. Children must not play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance
must not be carried out by children without supervision.
• Operate the device in a dry and dust-free environment only.
• Operate the device in an indoor environment only.
• Do not expose the device to unfavourable inuences such as

NOTES!
• Do not open the housing. The device does not contain any serviceable parts.
• Manipulation of the CO detector may lead to a risk of malfunction.
• Do not commission the device if there is visible damage.
• We will not assume any liability for material or personal damage caused by
improper handling or non-observance of the safety instructions! In such cases,
the warranty/guarantee will become null and void!
• Any other use than those described in these instructions will lead to damage
of the device. Do not undertake structural modications to the device.
Otherwise, safe operation cannot be assured.
• The device must be replaced every 10 years.
• The device must not be covered or painted.
Cover the detector during renovation works. Remember to remove the cover
again after the renovation (excessive fumes from paints, solvents, cleaning
agents, etc. may damage or impair the function of the sensor).
• THIS IS NOT A SMOKE DETECTOR!
This CO detector was developed to detect carbon monoxide from ANY
combustion source. The device does not react to ames, smoke or gas.
• To ensure the protection function of the detector, the POWER LED (see Alarm
signals and LED display table) must be checked at regular intervals.
• The CO detector does not replace the correct maintenance of heating systems
or the sweeping of the chimney.
2. INTENDED USE
THIS DEVICE IS INTENDED FOR PROTECTING PERSONS FROM THE ACUTE
EFFECTS OF CARBON MONOXIDE. IT CANNOT PROVIDE COMPLETE SAFETY TO
PERSONS WITH SPECIAL MEDICAL CONDITIONS. IN CASE OF DOUBT, ASK A PHYSICIAN.
STORE AND TRANSPORT THE DEVICE AT ROOM TEMPERATURE AND PROTECT IT,
IN PARTICULAR, FROM IMPACTS FROM DUST, MOISTURE AND VAPOURS FROM
CHEMICAL SOLVENTS/CLEANSERS, AS THESE SHORTEN THE SERVICE LIFE OF THE
SENSOR.
ATTENTION! MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EARS!
The CO detector produces a very loud and shrill alarm which may cause
damage to the ears. Therefore, keep a minimum distance of 50 cm during the
functional test
3. SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR HANDLING BATTERIES
WARNING! RISK OF DEATH! Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
In case of ingestion, please seek medical attention immediately!
CAUTION! RISK OF EXPLOSION!
Never try to recharge non-rechargeable batteries, do not short-circuit
and/or open the batteries!
• Never throw batteries into a re or water!
• Do not expose the batteries to any mechanical load!
May cause leakages of the batteries
• In case of leakage of the batteries, remove them from the device immediately
in order to prevent any damage!
• Avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes! When getting in touch
with battery acid, instantly irrigate the aected parts with clear water and
seek medical advice immediately!
• Only use batteries of the same type! Do not mix old batteries with new ones!
• Avoid extreme conditions and temperatures which may inuence the
batteries, e.g. placing them on radiators/in direct solar radiation.
• Remove batteries from the device if they have not been used for a longer
time!
Risk of damage to the device
• Only use the specied battery type!
• Please ensure that the polarity is correct when inserting the battery!
The polarity is indicated inside the battery compartment!
• Clean battery and device contacts before insertion if required!
• Immediately remove empty batteries from the device!
Escape plan in case of re
We recommend to prepare an escape plan together with all house inhabitants.
Make sure that the escape route is not blocked by any obstacles under any
circumstances; select the fastest and safest way outside as the escape route.
4. SCOPE OF DELIVERY
You must check the scope of delivery of your detector for completeness
immediately after unpacking. Apart from that, faultless condition of the detector
has to be ensured.

6. DEVICE OVERVIEW
Operation display
The POWER display (green LED) indicates that the CO detector is operating
normally. The LED ashes every 40 seconds.
Error warning
The FAULT display (yellow LED) indicates an error or warning status of the CO
detector.
Alarm function
The ALARM display (red LED) indicates the alarm status of the CO detector.
Test/silence button
The TEST/SILENCE button is used to test the device. Keep it pressed to activate the
test function. In case of an alarm or another warning signal, the device can be
muted using this button.
Alarm sound
The alarm sound is used to send alarm warning and error warning information.
7. OPERATION AND ASSEMBLY
This chapter explains the basic functions of the detector. Read this chapter
carefully in order to understand and be able to use all functions.
7.1 Selection of the place of installation
AT WHICH LOCATION SHOULD THE CO DETECTOR BE INSTALLED
In order to detect an increased concentration of the dangerous respiratory poison
early a carbon monoxide detector should be installed in all rooms with “fuel-
operated” devices (such as gas heaters, oil heating facilities or replaces) and in
rooms in which persons spend more time (e.g. living rooms and bedrooms).
The assembly depends on the question of whether there is a combustion system
in the room or not:
In rooms without “fuel-operated” devices, e.g. bedrooms
In bedrooms, the detector should be mounted at breathing height (in lying
position, approx. 45 cm from the oor).

In rooms without “fuel-operated” devices, e.g. living or work rooms
In living rooms, or other types of rooms in which people spend time during the
day, the detector should be mounted at breathing height (i.e. at head height,
approx. 1-1.5 m) - depending on the activity that is most frequently performed in
the relevant room.

Ceiling assembly in a room with “fuel-operated” devices
If it is to be assembled on the ceiling, the detector should be mounted in a central
position in the room, at a distance of at least 30 cm to the wall and not directly
over the heating or the gas oven.

Wall assembly in a room with “fuel-operated” devices
If ceiling assembly is not possible:
The detector should be mounted at a distance of at least 15 cm to the ceiling and
1-3 metres to the combustion system (above doors and windows).

Note!
The CO detector should be placed so that you can hear it while you are asleep.
The following are not suitable for assembly
• Environments within 1.5 m of any ring system operated with gas.
• Places with high dust, dirt or oil/grease concentrations.
• Wet rooms with high air humidity. Install the detector at least 3 m away from
the bathroom.
• Very cold or hot places at which the temperatures may fall to less than -10 °C
or rise to more than 40 °C.
• Environments with air humidity of less than 30% or more than 90% relative
humidity
• Places with direct sunlight, directly over a basin or cooking device.
• Behind curtains, drapes, furniture or in places in which air circulation is not
guaranteed.
• Unheated cellar rooms and garages
• Places in which the detector may be exposed to chemical solvents or cleaning
agents.
• Close to ventilation openings, ues and chimneys.
• Close to heat sources or cooking equipment.
• Close to ceiling fans, heaters, AC units and fresh air openings.
8. INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING
The CO detector should be installed by a qualied person.
WARNINGS
• The installation of a carbon monoxide detector should not be used as a
substitute for proper installation, use and maintenance of fuel burning
appliances including appropriate ventilation and exhaust systems.
• Risk of electric shock or malfunction if the apparatus is tampered with.
• The following substances may aect the reliability of the apparatus in the
short or long term: methane, propane, isobutene, isopropanol, ethylene,
benzene, toluene, ethyl acetate, hydrogen sulde, sulfur dioxides, alcohol
based products, paints, thinner, solvents, adhesives, hair sprays, after shaves ,
perfumes and some cleaning agents
• High concentrations of tobacco smoke may give rise to false alarms.
• This carbon monoxide alarm may respond to brief exhaust of gas emissions,
for example during the initial start-up of an appliance.
• To prevent injury, this apparatus must be securely attached to the wall in
accordance with the installation instructions.
Mark two bore holes (distance of 52 mm) and make holes into the wall using a
5 mm drill. Make sure not to damage any lines! Push the plastic dowels into the
bore holes and screw the two supplied screws into the holes until the screw heads
protrude approx. 5 mm. Now attach the mounting openings of the battery cover
on the back of the device.
8.1 Inserting the batteries
Open the battery cover on the back of the device.
Ensuring correct polarity (+/-), insert the 2 Mignon AA batteries into the device.
All three LEDs light up shortly together and the CO detector conrms its start by
means of a short acoustic signal. After the green LED ashes several times,
the device enters normal operating mode. Then the green LED ashes every
40 seconds, indicating that the device is working properly.
8.2 Additional functions
The CO detector is supplied with the following, additional, user-friendly functions:
Alarm function
When the CO detector detects a dangerous CO value, a prolonged signal resounds.
The alarm signal consists of 4 fast signals followed by a 5-second break. The red
ALARM LED ashes in the same pattern. This cycle is repeated as long is the
dangerous situation persists.
The alarm starts with the rst 8 acoustic signals at a low volume (<85 dB) and
only changes to higher volume (>85 dB) thereafter.
Sensitivity settings (according to standard EN 50291-1:2018):

When the device is in alarm mode and the “TEST/SILENCE” button is pressed, the
alarm signal will be suppressed for approx. 10 minutes. The red ALARM LED will
continue to ash and thereby signal that the device is in “Alarm silence mode”.
Notes:
- The acoustic alarm signal is re-activated about 10 minutes after the
“TEST/SILIENCE” button has been pressed if the CO concentration in the air is
still 50 ppm or more.
- The acoustic alarm signal cannot be suppressed if the CO concentration ex-
ceeds 200 ppm.
- The alarm suppression may only be activated once during an alarm period.
Warning: Before activation of this function, you should be aware of the risks of a
dangerous CO concentration!
Error warning
The device indicates that an error has occurred by beeping twice every 8 seconds
and, at the same time, ashing the yellow FAULT LED.
In this condition, the device does not have a detector function and does not react
to CO.
The CO detector has to be replaced. In the error condition, the detector may be set
into an idle state for approx. 9 hours by pressing the “TEST/SILIENCE” button.
The yellow FAULT LED will continue to ash.
Low battery voltage warning
If a signal resounds every 40 seconds and the yellow FAULT LED ashes,
this indicates a low battery.
Pressing the “TEST/SILENCE” button will set the detector into an idle state for
approx. 9 hours. The yellow FAULT LED will continue to ash.
Note: The battery must be replaced immediately as otherwise, the detector
function will be lost. See chapter 8.5 “Changing the batteries”
Warning at the end of the device service life
If a signal resounds three times every 40 seconds and the yellow FAULT LED
ashes, this indicates the end of the device service life. The CO detector has to be
replaced. Pressing the “TEST/SILENCE” button will set the detector into an idle
state for approx. 9 hours. The yellow FAULT LED will continue to ash.

8.3 What to do in case of alarm
1. NEVER IGNORE THE CO DETECTOR!
2. Immediately leave the building together with all persons who are in the
apartment
3. Open doors and windows, if possible
4. Take your mobile phone with you!
5. Make an emergency call to inform the rescue services and the re brigade
6. Wait for the emergency personnel outside.
7. If possible, inform other residents/neighbours via the intercom or by phone.
Do not go back into the house!
8. Consult a qualied technician to localise the source of the CO.
Health eects of carbon monoxide
CO is often called a “silent killer” as it is an invisible, odourless and tasteless gas.
It results from the incomplete combustion of various fuels. These fuels include:
wood, coal, charcoal, oil, natural gas, petrol, kerosene and propane.
Carbon monoxide is a colourless, odourless and non-irritating gas which is classi-
ed as a chemical asphyxiant, whose toxic action is a direct result of the hypoxia
produced by a given exposure. The device may not prevent the chronic eects of
carbon monoxide exposure and does not protect individuals from a particular ha-
zard.
CO poisoning causes u-like symptoms such as headache, tightness/pressure on
the chest, dizziness, tiredness, disorientation, tachycardia, nausea and even vomi-
ting, loss of consciousness and breathing diculties. As a CO poisoning increases
the victim’s blood pressure, the victim’s skin may take a pink or red colour.
Many cases of observed CO poisoning show that while the victims do realise that
they don’t feel well, they are, however disoriented so that self-rescue is no longer
possible.
WARNING!
Extreme CO concentrations may lead to lasting damage or disabilities or
result in death.
USUAL RISKS THAT MAY LEAD TO CO POISONING
Carbon monoxide (CO) generally results from the incomplete combustion of
carbon-containing fuels and combustibles.
Danger sources:
- Technical defects, insucient maintenance or manipulation of the
combustion system or exhaust system
- With room-sealed gas boilers, oil/pellet heating systems or wood-burning
stoves, CO may e.g. get into living areas and bedrooms if the exhaust system is
clogged.
- Insucient ventilation during operation of gas boilers and/or a gas-operated
ow heater
- Chimneys of incorrect size
- Technical defect of a gas stove
- Wood pellet storage – Wood pellets may release toxic CO even months after
their production
- Garden grills or patio heaters that are used in closed rooms
- Improper shisha smoking
8.4 Functional check/test
Important:
The functional test is to be carried out once per week.
To carry out the functional test, press and hold the TEST/SILENCE button. The test
signal consists of 4 fast signals followed by a 5-second break. The red ALARM LED
ashes in the same pattern. The test signal is repeated as long as the button is
pressed.
If no test signal resounds, the detector must be replaced immediately.
Do not try to make changes at the device or to repair it. This entails the risk of
malfunction and would void the warranty.
8.5 Changing the batteries
If a signal resounds every 40 seconds and the yellow FAULT LED ashes, this
indicates a low battery. The batteries (see chapter 5, ”Technical data“) have to be
replaced.
1. Take the device o the wall
2. Open the battery cover on the back of the device.
3. Remove the used batteries
4. Ensuring correct polarity (+/-), insert the new batteries into the device.
5. Check whether the green LED ashes about 15 times during the rst
60 seconds.
6. Close the battery cover and re-fasten the device at the wall.
7. Carry out a functional test.
9. MAINTENANCE
- Test the device once per week by means of the test button.
- The detector must not be exposed to water or dust.
- Clean the openings of the CO detector by means of a vacuum cleaner.
- Wipe the surface of the CO detector using a damp cloth.
- Never use detergents as this might damage the sensor.
- Test the alarm after the cleaning.
- Check whether the green LED ashes approx. every 40 sec.
WARNING!
The following substances may impair the function of the sensor and cause
malfunctions: methane, propane, isobutene, isopropanol, ethylene, benzene, toluol,
ethyl acetate, hydrogen sulphide, sulphur dioxide, products based on alcohol, paints,

Ce détecteur de monoxyde de carbone (CO) est conçu pour détecter le mo-
noxyde de carbone provenant de TOUTE source de combustion. Les ammes,
la fumée et les gaz ne sont pas reconnus par l'appareil.

Pour garantir la fonction de protection du détecteur, la LED "POWER" (voir ta-
bleau Signaux d'alarme et achage LED) doit être vériée à intervalles réguliers.
• Le détecteur de CO ne remplace pas un bon entretien du système de chauage
ou le ramonage de la cheminée.
2. UTILISATION CONFORME
CET APPAREIL EST DESTINÉ À PROTÉGER LES PERSONNES CONTRE LES EF-

STOCKEZ ET TRANSPORTEZ L'APPAREIL À TEMPÉRATURE AMBIANTE ET

Le détecteur de CO émet une alerte très forte et stridente qui peut altérer
votre audition. Respectez donc une distance minimale de 50 cm lors du test de
fonctionnement.
3. CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ SPÉCIFIQUES À LA MANIPULATION
DES PILES
AVERTISSEMENT ! DANGER DE MORT ! Les piles ne doivent pas être
laissées à la portée des enfants.
En cas d'ingestion, consultez immédiatement un médecin !
ATTENTION ! RISQUE D'EXPLOSION !
Ne rechargez jamais des piles non rechargeables, ne les court-circuitez pas
et ne les ouvrez pas.
• Ne jetez jamais les piles dans le feu ou dans l'eau !
• N'exposez pas les piles à des contraintes mécaniques !
Risque d’écoulement des piles
• Si les piles coulent, retirez-les immédiatement de l'appareil pour ne pas
endommager ce dernier !
• Evitez le contact avec la peau, les yeux et les muqueuses ! En cas de contact
avec l'acide des piles, rincez immédiatement les zones touchées à l'eau claire
et consultez immédiatement un médecin !
• N'utilisez que des piles du même type ! Ne mélangez pas des piles usagées
avec des piles neuves !
• Evitez les conditions et les températures extrêmes qui peuvent endommager
les piles, par exemple en les posant sur des radiateurs ou en les exposant au
rayonnement direct du soleil.

Retirez les piles de l'appareil si elles n'ont pas été utilisées depuis un certain temps !
Risque de détérioration de l'appareil
• N'utilisez que le type de piles spéciés !
• Respectez la polarité lors de la mise en place ! Celle-ci est indiquée dans le
compartiment à piles !

Si nécessaire, nettoyez les contacts des piles et de l'appareil avant la mise en place !
• Retirez immédiatement les piles usagées de l'appareil !
Plan d'évacuation en cas d'incendie
Il est recommandé d'élaborer un plan d'évacuation avec tous les résidents. Veillez
à ce qu'aucun obstacle ne bloque l'issue de secours. Il doit s'agir du chemin le plus
sûr et le plus rapide vers l'extérieur.
4. CONTENU DU COLIS
Immédiatement après le déballage, il faut vérier que tous les éléments
nécessaires à la conguration du détecteur sont bien là. En outre, il faut veiller à
ce que le détecteur soit en parfait état.

6. DESCRIPTION DÉTAILLÉE DU PRODUIT

Le fonctionnement normal du
détecteur d es 40 secondes.
Voyant d'erreur
Le voyant FAULT (voyant jaune) indique l'état d'erreur ou d'alerte du détecteur de CO.
Fonction d'alarme
Le voyant ALARM (voyant rouge) indique l'état d'alarme du détecteur de CO.
Bouton test/silence
Appuyez sur le bouton TEST/SILENCE pour tester l'appareil. Appuyez sur cette
touche et maintenez-la enfoncée pour activer la fonction de test. En cas d'alarme
ou d'autres signaux d'avertissement, ce bouton peut être utilisé pour mettre
l'appareil en sourdine.
Alarme sonore
L’alarme sonore est utilisée pour envoyer des informations d'avertissement
d'alerte et d'erreur.
7. UTILISATION ET INSTALLATION
Ce chapitre explique les fonctions de base du détecteur. Lisez attentivement ce
chapitre an de pouvoir comprendre et utiliser toutes les fonctions.
7.1 Sélection du lieu d'installation
OÙ LE DÉTECTEUR DE CO PEUT-IL ÊTRE INSTALLÉ ?
An de détecter à temps une concentration accrue de substance respiratoire
toxique, il convient d'installer un détecteur de monoxyde de carbone dans toutes
les pièces où se trouvent des appareils utilisant "un combustible" (tels que
chaudières à gaz, systèmes de chauage au oul ou cheminées) et dans les pièces
où l'on passe de longs moments (par exemple, salons et chambres à coucher).
L'installation dépend de la présence ou non d'un appareil de combustion dans la
pièce :
Dans les pièces dépourvues d'appareils utilisant "un combustible",
par exemple les chambres à coucher
Dans les chambres à coucher, le détecteur de danger doit être installé à hauteur
de respiration (en position allongée - environ 45 cm au-dessus du sol).

Dans les pièces dépourvues d'appareils "à combustible",
par exemple les chambres à coucher ou les bureaux
Dans les salles de détente, le détecteur de danger doit être installé à hauteur de
respiration (c'est-à-dire à hauteur de la tête, entre 1 et 1,5 m environ), en fonction
de l'activité la plus fréquemment pratiquée dans la salle en question.

Montage au plafond dans une pièce où se trouvent des appareils
utilisant "un combustible"
Le détecteur de danger doit être monté au centre de la pièce, au plafond, à une
distance d'au moins 30 cm du mur, et non directement au-dessus du chauage ou
de la cuisinière à gaz.

Montage mural dans une pièce où se trouvent des appareils utilisant
"un combustible"
Si le montage au plafond n'est pas possible :
Le détecteur doit être installé à au moins 15 cm du plafond et à 1-3 mètres de
l'appareil de combustion (au-dessus des portes et des fenêtres).

Attention !
Le détecteur CO doit être placé de manière à ce que vous l'entendiez
pendant votre sommeil.
Les éléments suivants ne sont pas adaptés à l'installation :
• Environnements situés à moins de 1,5 m de tout équipement de combustion
utilisant du gaz.
• Endroits à forte concentration de poussière, de saleté ou d'huiles/graisses.
• Pièces humides, avec un taux d'humidité élevé. Installez le détecteur à au
moins 3 m de la salle de bains.
• Endroits très froids ou très chauds, où la température peut atteindre moins de
-10 ºC ou plus de 40 ºC.
• Environnements avec une humidité inférieure à 30 % ou supérieure à 90 %
d'humidité relative
• Endroits directement exposés au soleil, directement au-dessus d'un évier ou
d'un appareil de cuisson.
• Derrière les rideaux, les stores, les meubles ou les endroits où la circulation de
l'air n'est pas garantie.
• Pièces et garages non chaués au sous-sol
• Endroits où le détecteur peut être exposé à des solvants ou des nettoyants
chimiques.
• Près des orices de ventilation, des conduits de fumée et des cheminées.
• Près des appareils de chauage ou de cuisson.
• Près des ventilateurs de plafond, des radiateurs souants, des climatiseurs et
des bouches d'air frais.
8. INSTALLATION ET MISE EN SERVICE
Le détecteur de CO doit être installé par une personne qualiée.
AVERTISSEMENTS
• Un détecteur de monoxyde de carbone ne saurait se substituer à l'installation,
l'utilisation et l'entretien adéquats d'appareils à combustibles, y compris de
systèmes de ventilation et d'évacuation appropriés.
• Risque de choc électrique ou de dysfonctionnement si l'appareil est altéré.
• Les substances suivantes peuvent aecter la abilité de l'appareil à court ou à
long terme : méthane, propane, isobutène, alcool isopropylique, éthylène,
benzène, toluène, acétate d'éthyle, sulfure d'hydrogène, dioxydes de soufre,
produits à base d'alcool, peintures, diluants, solvants, adhésifs, laques, après
rasage, parfums et certains produits de nettoyage.
• La fumée dense produite par la consommation de tabac peut déclencher une
fausse alarme.
• Ce détecteur de monoxyde de carbone peut réagir à de brèves émissions de
gaz, par exemple lors du démarrage d'un appareil.
• Pour éviter toute blessure, cet appareil doit être solidement xé au mur,
conformément aux instructions d'installation.
Marquez l'emplacement des deux trous à percer (52 mm d'écart) et percez les trous
dans le mur avec une perceuse de 5 mm. Veillez à ne pas endommager une conduite
! Enfoncez la cheville en plastique dans les orices et vissez les deux vis fournies
jusqu'à ce que la tête des vis dépasse d'environ 5 mm. Placez maintenant les orices
d'accrochage du couvercle à piles à l'arrière de l'appareil, sur le dessus de celui-ci.
8.1 Insérer des piles
Ouvrez le couvercle à piles à l'arrière de l'appareil.
Placez les 2 piles Mignon AA dans l'appareil en respectant la polarité (+/-).
Les trois voyants s'allument brièvement ensemble et le détecteur de CO conrme
le démarrage par un bref signal sonore. Après que le voyant vert ait clignoté plu-
sieurs fois, l'appareil passe en mode de fonctionnement normal. Ensuite, le voyant
vert clignote toutes les 40 secondes, indiquant que l'appareil fonctionne correcte-
ment.
8.2 Fonctions supplémentaires
Le détecteur de CO est livré avec les fonctions supplémentaires suivantes,
faciles à utiliser :
Fonction d'alarme
Si le détecteur de CO détecte un niveau dangereux de monoxyde de carbone (CO),
un signal continu retentit. Le signal d'alarme se compose de 4 signaux rapides
suivis d'une pause de 5 secondes. Le voyant rouge ALARM clignote de la même
manière. Ce cycle se répète tant que la situation dangereuse continue.
L'alarme commence à un volume faible (<85 dB) pour les huit premiers signaux
sonores et ne passe qu'ensuite à un volume plus élevé (>85 dB).

Lorsque l'appareil est en mode alarme et que vous appuyez sur le bouton
"TEST/SILENCE", le signal d'alarme est supprimé pendant environ 10 minutes. Le
voyant rouge ALARM continue de clignoter, indiquant que l'appareil est en "mode
silencieux d'alarme".
Informations :
- Le signal d'alarme sonore est réactivé environ 10 minutes après l'actionne-
ment de la touche "TEST/SILENCE" si la concentration de CO dans l'air reste
supérieure ou égale à 50 ppm.
- Le signal d'alarme sonore ne peut pas être supprimé si l'alarme se déclenche à
une concentration de CO supérieure à 200 ppm.
- La suppression d'alarme ne peut être activée qu'une seule fois pendant une
période d'alarme.
Avertissement : Avant d'activer cette fonction, vous devez être conscient des
risques d'une concentration dangereuse de CO !
Voyant d'erreur
Une erreur s'est produite si l'appareil émet deux bips toutes les 8 secondes et que
le voyant jaune FAULT clignote.
Dans cet état, l'appareil n'a pas de fonction de détection et ne répond pas au CO.
Le détecteur CO doit être remplacé. Dans l'état d'erreur, le détecteur peut être mis
en état de repos pendant environ 9 heures en appuyant sur le bouton "TEST/SI-
LENCE". Le voyant jaune FAULT continue de clignoter.
Avertissement niveau de piles faibles
Si un signal sonore retentit toutes les 40 secondes et que le voyant jaune FAULT
clignote, cela signie que la pile est presque vide.
Le détecteur peut être mis en pause pendant environ 9 heures en appuyant sur le
bouton "TEST/SILENCE". Le voyant jaune FAULT continue de clignoter.
Information : La pile doit être remplacée immédiatement, sous peine de perdre la
fonction de détection. Voir le chapitre 6 "Remplacer les piles"
Avertissement lors de la n de vie de l'appareil
Si un signal sonore retentit trois fois toutes les 40 secondes et que le voyant jaune
FAULT clignote, cela signie que l'appareil est en n de vie. Le détecteur de CO
doit être remplacé. Le détecteur peut être mis en pause pendant environ 9 heures
en appuyant sur le bouton "TEST/SILENCE". Le voyant jaune FAULT continue de cli-
gnoter.

8.3 Que faire en cas d'alarme
1. N'IGNOREZ JAMAIS L'ALARME DU DETECTEUR CO !
2. Quittez immédiatement le bâtiment avec toutes les personnes présentes à
l'intérieur
3. Ouvrez les portes et les fenêtres si possible
4. Prenez votre téléphone portable avec vous !
5. Appelez en urgence les secours et les pompiers
6. Attendez l'intervention dehors.
7. Si possible, informez les autres résidents/voisins via le système d'interphone
ou par téléphone. Ne retournez pas dans le bâtiment !

Consultez un technicien qualié pour localiser la source du monoxyde carbone (CO).
Eets du monoxyde de carbone sur la santé
Le CO est appelé le "tueur silencieux" car c'est un gaz invisible, inodore et insipide.
Il est produit par la combustion incomplète de combustibles fossiles. Ces combus-
tibles comprennent : bois, charbon, charbon de bois, pétrole, gaz naturel, essence,
kérosène et propane.
Le monoxyde de carbone est un gaz incolore, inodore et non irritant, classé
comme asphyxiant chimique, dont l'action toxique est le résultat direct de
l'hypoxie produite par une exposition particulière.
L'appareil ne peut pas prévenir les eets chroniques de l'exposition au monoxyde
de carbone et ne protège pas les individus contre un danger particulier.
L'empoisonnement au monoxyde de carbone CO provoque des symptômes
semblables à ceux de la grippe, tels que des maux de tête, une gêne/un poids au
niveau de la poitrine, des vertiges, de la fatigue, de la confusion, un rythme
cardiaque rapide, des nausées et des vomissements, une perte de conscience et
des dicultés respiratoires. Comme l'empoisonnement au CO provoque une
augmentation de la pression sanguine de la victime, sa peau peut prendre une
teinte rose ou rouge.
Dans de nombreux cas d'intoxication au monoxyde de carbone (CO) observés, les
victimes se rendent compte qu'elles ne vont pas bien, mais elles sont tellement
désorientées que l'auto-sauvetage n'est plus possible.
AVERTISSEMENT !
Des concentrations extrêmes de monoxyde de carbone (CO) peuvent cau-
ser des dommages ou des handicaps permanents, ou même entraîner la mort.
RISQUES COMMUNS POUVANT CONDUIRE À UN EMPOISONNEMENT AU CO
Le monoxyde de carbone (CO) se forme généralement lors de la combustion
incomplète de combustibles contenant du carbone.
Sources de danger :
- Défauts techniques, manque d'entretien ou manipulation de l'équipement de
combustion ou du système d'échappement
- Si le système d'échappement est obstrué, le CO peut pénétrer dans les salles
de séjour et les chambres à coucher, par exemple dans le cas de chauages au
gaz indépendants de l'air ambiant, de chauages au oul/granulés ou de
poêles à bois.
- Une ventilation inadéquate lors de l'utilisation de chauage au gaz ou d'un
chaue-eau instantané au gaz
- Cheminées de mauvaise taille
- Défaut technique d'une cuisinière à gaz
- Magasin de granulés de bois - Les granulés de bois peuvent continuer à libérer
du CO toxique pendant des mois après leur fabrication
- Barbecues de jardin ou chaue-ballons utilisés à l'intérieur
- Fumée de chicha inopinée
8.4 Contrôle/test de fonctionnement
Important :
Le test de fonctionnement doit être eectué chaque semaine.
Pour eectuer le test de fonctionnement, appuyez sur le bouton TEST/SILENCE et
maintenez-le enfoncé. Le signal de test se compose de 4 signaux rapides suivis

Le signal de test se répète tant que le bouton reste enfoncé.
Si aucun signal de test ne retentit, le détecteur doit être remplacé immédiatement.
N'essayez pas d'eectuer des modications ou des réparations sur l'appareil.
Cela risquerait de provoquer un dysfonctionnement et d'annuler la garantie.
8.5 Remplacer les piles
Si un signal sonore retentit toutes les 40 secondes et que le voyant jaune FAULT
clignote, cela signie que les piles sont presque vides. Les piles (voir chapitre 9.1,
"Insérer des piles") doivent être remplacées.
1. Retirez l'appareil du mur
2. Ouvrez le couvercle à piles à l'arrière de l'appareil.
3. Retirez ensuite les piles usagées
4. Placez les piles neuves dans l'appareil en respectant la polarité (+/-).
5. Vériez que le voyant vert clignote environ 15 fois au cours des 60 premières
secondes.
6. Fermez le couvercle à piles et accrochez à nouveau l'appareil au mur.
7. Procédez à un test de fonctionnement.
9. ENTRETIEN
- Testez l'appareil une fois par semaine à l'aide du bouton de test.
- N'exposez pas le détecteur à l'eau ou à la poussière.
- Utilisez un aspirateur pour aspirer les ouvertures du détecteur CO.
- Essuyez la surface du détecteur CO avec un chion humide.
-
N'utilisez jamais de produits de nettoyage car le capteur pourrait être endommagé.
- Testez l'alarme après le nettoyage.
- Vériez que le voyant LED vert clignote environ toutes les 40 secondes.

Les substances suivantes peuvent aecter le capteur et provoquer son dys-
fonctionnement : méthane, propane, isobutène, isopropanol, éthylène, benzène,
toluène, acétate d'éthyle, sulfure d'hydrogène, dioxydes de soufre, produits à base
d'alcool, peintures, diluants, solvants, adhésifs, laques pour cheveux, parfums et
autres produits de nettoyage.
10. MISE AU REBUT
L'emballage est composé de matériaux respectueux de l'environnement qui
peuvent être éliminés dans des points de recyclage locaux.

• Nie ponosimy odpowiedzialności za szkody materialne lub osobowe, które
zostaną spowodowane nieprawidłowym postępowaniem lub nieprzestrzega-
niem wskazówek bezpieczeństwa! W takich przypadkach wygasa rękojmia /
gwarancja!
• Zastosowanie odmienne od opisanego w niniejszej instrukcji prowadzi do
uszkodzenia urządzenia. Nie dokonywać zmian konstrukcyjnych w urządzeniu.
W przeciwnym razie nie można zagwarantować bezpiecznej eksploatacji.
• Urządzenie należy wymieniać co 10 lat.
• Urządzenia nie wolno zakrywać ani malować.
W przypadku prac remontowych osłonić detektor. Należy pamiętać, aby po
remoncie ponownie odsłonić detektor (nadmierne opary z farb, rozpuszczalni-
ków, środków czyszczących itp. mogą uszkodzić czujnik lub ograniczyć jego
zdolność detekcji).
• TO NIE JEST CZUJKA DYMU!
Detektor CO został stworzony do wykrywania tlenku węgla pochodzącego z
KAŻDEGO źródła spalania. Urządzenie nie reaguje na płomienie, dym lub gaz.
• W celu zapewnienia funkcji ochronnej detektora należy kontrolować diodę
LED POWER w regularnych odstępach czasu (patrz: tabela sygnałów
alarmowych i wskaźnika LED).
• Detektor CO nie zastąpi prawidłowej konserwacji instalacji grzewczych lub
czyszczenia komina.

który może uszkodzić słuch. Dlatego podczas przeprowadzania testu działania
urządzenia należy zachować min. 50 cm odstępu.

trać do rąk dzieci.
W przypadku połknięcia natychmiast udać się do lekarza!
OSTROŻNIE! NIEBEZPIECZEŃSTWO WYBUCHU!
Nigdy nie ładować ponownie baterii nieładowalnych, nie zwierać ich i / lub
nie otwierać!
• Nigdy nie wrzucać baterii do ognia lub wody!
• Nie wystawiać baterii na obciążenia mechaniczne!
Niebezpieczeństwo wycieku baterii
• W przypadku wycieku baterii należy je natychmiast usunąć z urządzenia,
aby zapobiec uszkodzeniom!
• Unikać kontaktu ze skórą, oczami oraz błonami śluzowymi! W przypadku
kontaktu z elektrolitem natychmiast spłukać dotknięte miejsca czystą wodą i
bezzwłocznie udać się do lekarza!

Stosować tylko baterie tego samego typu! Nie mieszać zużytych baterii z nowymi!
• Unikać ekstremalnych warunków i temperatur, które mogą oddziaływać na
baterie, np. zwracać uwagę na grzejniki / bezpośrednie nasłonecznienie.
• Baterie, które nie były używane przez dłuższy czas, należy usunąć z
urządzenia!

• Stosować wyłącznie podany typ baterii!
• Podczas wkładania zwrócić uwagę na prawidłowe ułożenie biegunów!
Zostało ono pokazane w komorze baterii!
• Przed włożeniem należy w razie potrzeby oczyścić styki baterii i urządzenia!
• Bezzwłocznie usuwać zużyte baterie z urządzenia!
Plan ewakuacji w przypadku pożaru
Zaleca się opracowanie planu ewakuacji wspólnie z pozostałymi domownikami.
Upewnić się, że droga ewakuacyjna nie zostanie w żadnych okolicznościach
zablokowana przez przeszkody. Jako trasę ewakuacji wybrać najszybszą i
najbezpieczniejszą drogę na zewnątrz.

Ostrzeżenie o błędach
Wskaźnik FAULT (żółta dioda LED) sygnalizuje status błędu lub stan ostrzegawczy
detektora CO.
Funkcja alarmu
Wskaźnik ALARM (czerwona dioda LED) sygnalizuje stan alarmowy detektora CO.
Przycisk TEST / WYCISZENIE
Za pomocą przycisku TEST / SILENCE przeprowadza się test urządzenia.
Aby aktywować funkcję testową, należy wcisnąć i przytrzymać przycisk.
W przypadku sygnału alarmowego lub innego sygnału ostrzegawczego można za
pomocą tego przycisku wyciszyć urządzenie.
Dźwięk alarmu
Dźwięk alarmu jest wykorzystywany do wysyłania informacji ostrzegających o
alarmie i błędach.
7. OBSŁUGA I MONTAŻ
W niniejszym rozdziale zostały wyjaśnione podstawowe funkcji detektora.
Zrozumienie wszystkich funkcji urządzenia i poprawne ich wykorzystanie
wymaga od użytkownika uważnego przeczytania tego rozdziału.
7.1 Wybór miejsca montażu
W KTÓRYM MIEJSCU POWINNO SIĘ ZAINSTALOWAĆ DETEKTOR CO?
Aby odpowiednio wcześnie wykryć zwiększone stężenie niebezpiecznej trucizny
oddechowej, we wszystkich pomieszczeniach z urządzeniami „zasilanymi pali-
wem” (np. kocioł gazowy, piec na olej lub kominek), a także w pomieszczeniach,
w których osoby przebywają przez dłuższy czas (np. salon i sypialnia), należy
zainstalować detektor tlenku węgla (CO).
Montaż zależy od tego, czy w pomieszczeniu znajduje się urządzenie spalania czy też nie:
W pomieszczeniach bez urządzeń „zasilanych paliwem”, np. sypialnia
W sypialniach detektor należy umieścić na wysokości aparatu oddechowego
człowieka (w pozycji leżącej, ok. 45 cm na ziemią).
