The Stereo Microphone DM-E100
is
an
external microphone for
movie shooting that can be mounted on a camera's hot shoe. For
details on compatible cameras, visit the Canon website.
Read this instruction manual manual and the camera's instruction
before use.
Keep these instructions
in
a convenient place for future reference.
Attaching the Microphone
Attach the microphone after turning off the camera's power (Fig.
1 . to 3)
When the cord
is
sagging, it can be neatly held
in
the cord groove
(Fig. . 4)
0 Turn the the locking until ring microphone
is
locked on the
camera. Be careful not to overtighten.
Do not attach the microphone with the built-in flash
of
the
camera raised.
Attaching the Wind Screen
It is recommended that you always attach the wind screen to
reduce noise from wind, . . etc (Fig. 5)
Attach the wind screen as shown
in
Fig. 6 to keep it from
detaching while shooting.
0 Do not pull on
or
wash the wind screen, as fibers can
easily come out due to the material it is made from. A loss
of
fibers causes a reduction
in
the noise reduction effect
of
the wind screen.
Do not use
or
store the wind screen
in
a high-temperature
location, such as inside a car under the hot sun. Doing so
will cause the the base material to harden and fibers to
wither.
Take care to ensure that that fibers come out
of
the wind
screen do not enter the camera.
Using the Microphone
Set the camera's . power switch to <ON>
Select [Auto] or [Manual]
in
[Sound rec .]
in
the [Sound
recording] menu
of
the the camera. For information on [Sound
recording] menu, refer to the camera's instruction manual.
0 Do not force apply excessive to the microphone installation
part
of
the camera. Doing so may cause it to break.
Do not hold the the camera by the microphone when
microphone
is
attached to the camera. Doing so may
cause the microphone to break or the camera to fall.
Test the microphone by speaking into
it.
Do not tap the
microphone or blow into it.
, Do not touch the microphone cord, or wind screen while
recording. Doing so will cause noise to be recorded.
Using the microphone close to objects that emit strong
electromagnetic fields (a large antenna, electrical towers,
mobile phones, etc.) may cause noise to be recorded.
Noise may be recorded if wireless functions on the camera
are
in
use use . It is recommended that you do not wireless
functions when recording.
Sound may be distorted if the the temperature around
microphone is low.
The microphone is not dustproof
or
waterproof. Do not
allow rain sand dust etc to enter the microphone
Detaching the Microphone
Detach the the microphone from camera for storage.
Turn off the power
of
the camera , disconnect the output plug,
loosen the locking ring adequately, and remove from the camera.
