Fundamental safety warnings

Danger of electric shock!

This is an electrical appliance and may cause electric shock.

• Ifthepowercableisdamaged,itmustbereplacedby

themanufacturerorthemanufacturer’scustomerservi-

cesinordertoavoidallrisk.

• Beforecleaningorservicing,disconnecttheappliance

byunpluggingfromthemains.

• Before using the appliance, check that the mains

supply voltage corresponds to the voltage indica-

ted on the rating plate. Connect the appliance to

an eciently earthed power supply and sockets

with a minimum current rating of 10 A only.

packaging, make sure the appliance is complete and

undamaged.If indoubt,donotusetheapplianceand

This appliance can be used by children

agedfrom8yearsandaboveandpersons

with reduced physical, sensory or men-

talcapabilitiesorlackofexperienceand

knowledgeiftheyhavebeengivensuper-

visionorinstructionconcerninguseofthe

appliance in a safe way and understand

Children shall not play with the appliance.

Cleaning and user maintenance shall not

bemadebychildrenwithoutsupervision.

• Usetheremovableironrestonanironingboard.

• NEVERusetheironrestonatable.Theheatcouldruin

the surface!

• “Safe transport”: certain models are tted with a

locking system which locks the iron in position during

transport. When the iron is locked in position, it

must not be used as a carrying handle to tran-

sport the appliance! To position the iron correctly,

insertthetipofthesoleplateintothehousing,restthe

ironon theironrestandmovethelocktothelocking

position (g.1).

 Toreleasetheiron,movethelocktothereleaseposition

andremovetheironfromthehousing(g.2).

• Whileironing,youcanrestthetipofthesoleplateonthe

heatresistantbaseabovethehousing.

Theappliancemustbeusedandrestedon

astableheatresistantsurface.

Whenplacingtheirononitsstand,ensure

that the surface on which the stand is pla-

cedisstable.

• NEVER store the iron in a vertical position!

Important safeguardsen

Theapplianceis nottobe used ifit has

beendropped,iftherearevisiblesignsof

damage or if it is leaking. If the ironing system

isdroppedcausing visibledamageto theappliance(steam

generatororiron),donotuse.Taketocustomerservices.

Designated use

• Thisappliancemustbeusedexclusivelyforthepurpose

forwhichitwasexpresslyconceived.

Any other use is considered improper and thus dange-

rous.

• The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by

inappropriate, incorrect or irresponsible useor for da-

personnel.

Preparations for use

What water to use?

The appliance works with . normal tap water

Incaseofveryhardwater(hardnessabove27°F)wesuggest

using demineralised water diluted with 50% tap water.

Neverusedemineralisedwateronitsown.Neverusechemi-

calsubstancesordetergents(e.g.perfumedwater,essences,

descalingsolution,etc).

Important!

Donotusemineralorothertypesofwater(suchasrainwater

orwaterforbatteriesorairconditionersetc.).

Filling the reservoir

Danger!

Makesurethepowercableisunpluggedfromthemainsso-

cket.

• Openthedoorofthewaterreservoirandll.Neverexce-

edtheMAXlevelmarkedonthereservoir(0.7l).

• Plug the appliance into a mains socket.

Please note:

Thersttimeyouusetheappliance,thesteamgeneratoris

empty.

Whenllingthesteamgeneratorforthersttime,itwilltake

longertoheatupastheairmustbeeliminatedfromtheste-

amgeneratorandreplacedbythewater.

During lling/heatingit isnormal forthe pumptomake a

noise.

The appliance will also run out of water much more quickly

thanwithsubsequentlls.

Steamironing

• TurntheapplianceonbyrotatingthedialG to one of the

steam positions. The light on the control panel and

light on the iron come on. L

• Waitforthe (steamready)lightI to come on and the

light on the iron to go o.L

• Todeliversteam,pressthesteambutton ,undertheM

handgrip.

Please note:

• Whenusedforthersttime,theappliancemaygiveo

smokeandanodourforseveralminutes.Thisiscaused

byheatingandsubsequentdryingofthesealersusedin

assemblingthesteamgeneratorandiron.

 Youarerecommendedtoventilatetheroom.
