d:dicate™ 4018A Supercardioid Microphone

A combination of the MMC4018 Microphone Capsule and the MMP-A

Preampliﬁer, this mic is part of the modular d:dicate™ Recording Micro-

phones series. At any time and with no tools necessary it is transform

the basic 4018A Microphone into a new conﬁguration by combining it

with another d:dicate™ Microphone Capsule or Preampliﬁer.

Performance

Mount the foam windscreen on the mic head whenever used outdoors

or in air turbulent situations such as close miking voice in order to

prevent wind or pop noise.

With each d:dicate™ Microphone Capsule, comes a unique calibration

chart that shows the exact frequency response of the purchased

capsule measured with a linear MMP-A .Preampliﬁer

Typical on- and off-axis and frequency responses for a MMC4018 at

30 cm (1ft):

Attenuation pad

The MMP-A Preampliﬁer has a 20 dB attenuation push-

switch at the XLR connector. Use a pencil or the like

to activate the attenuator and lower output by 20 dB.
