Installation and Location
• Ice Maker is for indoor use only. Do not
use outdoors.
• Place unit on a dry and level surface
away from hot gas or electric burners. Do
not place in direct sunlight.
• To ensure your works at maximum
efficiency, leave at least 8 inches (20 cm)
of clearance between all sides of unit and
any walls.
• To prevent damage to unit and to avoid
injury, do not plug unit into power source
until reading instructions first.
• Do not transport or store Ice Maker upside
down or on its side in order to avoid
disrupting fluids inside compressor. To
ensure maximum performance, allow unit
to sit upright at room temperature for at
least 2 hours before first use.
• To install Handle
(on select models):
Rotate Handle to
same angle as
mounting holes on
sides of Ice Maker.
Insert end of Handle
into holes.
How to Use Portable Ice Maker
Before first use: Unpack Ice Maker and check “Parts and Features” to make sure all parts were
included.
1. Lift Cover and pull Ice Storage Basket
straight up and out to clean.
2. Wash Ice Storage Basket and Ice Scoop in
hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
3. Clean interior with clean cloth or sponge
and hot, soapy water.
4. Rinse with warm water, then drain water
into a sink or large container by unplugging
Drain Plug on bottom of Base. Dry interior
with a soft, clean cloth.
5. Check bottom of Ice Maker to make sure
Drain Plug is in place.
6. Add Ice Storage Basket into Ice Maker
above Water Reservoir. Close Cover.
7. Place Ice Maker on a dry, flat surface
8 inches (20 cm) away from any walls and
direct sunlight.
8. Allow 2 hours for refrigerant fluid to settle.
Then plug into an electrical outlet.
How to Make Ice:
1. Lift Cover and remove Ice Storage Basket.
2. Pour cold tap or bottled water into Water
Reservoir. Do not fill above MAX Fill Line
in Water Reservoir.
3. Place Ice Storage Basket back in Ice Maker
and close Cover.
4. Plug into outlet. Power Button will blink.
5. Press (Power) button and indicator light
turns solid.
6. Press (Ice Size Selection) button.
(Large Ice Light) or (Small Ice Light)
indicator illuminates when selection is
made. The first ice-making cycle will last
approximately 7-15 minutes, depending
on ambient temperature and water
temperature.
7. (Full Basket Light) will illuminate when
Ice Basket is full. Open Cover and use Ice
Scoop to remove ice from Ice Storage
Basket. Close Cover to resume ice making.
8. (Water Indicator Light) will illuminate
when water needs to be added to Water
Reservoir. Open Cover, remove Ice Storage
Basket and add water up to MAX Fill Line.
Replace Ice Storage Basket and close Cover
to resume ice making.
NOTE: When Ice Maker will not be used
for a period of time, let Ice Maker come to
room temperature. Follow Care and Cleaning
instructions below.
Care and Cleaning
To keep ice tasting fresh, cleaning is recommended once a week, or when Ice Maker will not be
used for an extended period of time.
1. Stop ice making by pressing the
(Power) button. Discard any ice in Ice
Maker.
2. Unplug and allow to come to room
temperature.
3. If residual water is in Ice Tray, gently push
Ice Tray back so all water drains into
Reservoir.
4. Move Ice Maker to allow front of unit to
overhang above a sink or bucket. Gently
pull Drain Plug off to empty water. Replace
Drain Plug.
5. Plug into outlet. Fill Water Reservoir with
clean water to MAX fill line.
6. Press (Ice Size Selection) button until
(Clean Indicator Light) flashes. Press
(Power) button
. Pump will begin to pump
water and run for about 6 minutes.
(Power) button
will flash when complete.
7. Remove Drain Plug and empty water into
a sink or bucket.
8. Clean interior with a soft cloth soaked in
warm water and white vinegar. Rinse with
clean water and empty all water. Replace
Drain Plug.
9. Wash Ice Storage Basket and Ice Scoop
in warm, soapy water, rinse and dry.
OR wash in dishwasher, top rack only.
DO NOT use “SANITIZE” setting when
washing in dishwasher. SANITIZE cycle
temperatures could damage your product.
10. Clean the exterior of Ice Maker with a
soft, damp cloth. Use a mild dish soap, if
necessary.
NOTE: Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners
or boiling water for cleaning.
Troubleshooting
Power Light is not turning on.
• Portable Ice Maker is unplugged. Plug into
outlet.
• Fuse is blown or circuit breaker is tripped.
Replace fuse or reset circuit breaker. If too
many items are plugged into a single circuit,
move some items to a different plug.
• Internal components are damaged. Visit
hamiltonbeach.com/customer-service.
Full Basket Light is on.
• Ice Storage Basket is full. Remove ice from
Ice Storage Basket.
• Low temperature protection activates when
ambient temperature is lower than 41°F
(5°C). Move Portable Ice Maker to a warmer
place, where ambient temperature is higher.
Water Indicator Light is on.
• Water Reservoir is empty. Add cold tap or
bottled water.
• Water supply system is damaged. Visit
hamiltonbeach.com/customer-service.
Full Basket Light and Water Indicator Lights
are on.
• Ice-making area may be blocked. Check
for blockage in ice-making area. Dislodge
blockage.
• Internal components are damaged. Visit
hamiltonbeach.com/customer-service.
Ice-making performance is poor.
• Air Outlet is blocked. Clean Air Outlet (see
“Parts and Features”). Wipe with a soft,
damp cloth and dry.
• Water temperature is too high. Fill with cold
or room-temperature water.
• Ambient temperature is too high. Move
Portable Ice Maker to a cooler place where
ambient temperature is lower than 95°F (38°C).
• Refrigerant is leaking and/or refrigerating
system is damaged. Visit hamiltonbeach.
com/customer-service.
Portable Ice Maker is noisy.
• Fan or pump is damaged. Visit
hamiltonbeach.com/customer-service.
Refrigerants
All refrigeration products contain refrigerants, which under federal law must be removed prior
to product disposal. If you are getting rid of an old refrigeration product, check with a qualified
disposal company for instructions.
Limited Warranty
This warranty applies to products purchased and used in the U.S. and Canada. This is the only
express warranty for this product and is in lieu of any other warranty or condition.
This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of
five (5) years from the date of original purchase in Canada and one (1) year from the date of
original purchase in the U.S. During this period, your exclusive remedy is replacement of this
product or any component found to be defective, at our option; however, you are responsible
for all costs associated with our returning a product or component under this warranty to you. If
the product or component is unavailable, we will replace with a similar one of equal or greater
value.
This warranty does not cover glass, filters, wear from normal use, use not in conformity with
the printed directions, or damage to the product resulting from accident, alteration, abuse, or
misuse. This warranty extends only to the original consumer purchaser or gift recipient. Keep the
original sales receipt, as proof of purchase is required to make a warranty claim. This warranty is
void if the product is used for other than single-family household use or subjected to any voltage
and waveform other than as specified on the rating label (e.g., 120V ~ 60 Hz).
We exclude all claims for special, incidental, and consequential damages caused by breach of
express or implied warranty. All liability is limited to the amount of the purchase price. Every
implied warranty, including any statutory warranty or condition of merchantability or fitness
for a particular purpose, is disclaimed except to the extent prohibited by law, in which case
such warranty or condition is limited to the duration of this written warranty. This warranty

damage to the refrigerant tubing.
• All service repairs must be conducted by the manufacturer, its service agent, or

• Disposal of the ice maker must be in accordance with federal and local regulations.
The flammable refrigerant and insulation used in the appliance requires special

• To remove frost, scrape with a plastic or wooden spatula or scraper. Never use an ice
pick or a metal or sharp-edged instrument as it may puncture the liner and then the
flammable refrigerant tubing behind it.

position for approximately 2 hours
before turning it on.
14. Never use this unit with water that is
unsafe to drink or is from an unknown
source. Never use any other liquid in
the unit other than drinking water.
15. If the unit is brought inside from cold
outdoor temperatures, allow it to warm
up to room temperature for at least a
few hours before operating.
16. Ambient temperature of the unit should
not be less than 41°F (5°C).
17. Install the unit in a dry place away from

a hot gas or electric burner, or in a
heated oven.

cordon d’alimentation doit être de type de mise
à la terre à trois fiches. Veiller à placer la rallonge

Installation et emplacement
• La machine à glaçons est destinée à un
usage intérieur seulement. Ne pas utiliser
à l’extérieur.
• Placer l’appareil sur une surface sèche
et plane, à l’écart des brûleurs à gaz ou
électriques. Ne pas placer à la lumière
directe du soleil.
• Afin d’assurer que votre appareil
fonctionne à un rendement maximal,
veuillez laisser un espace d’au moins
20 cm (8 pouces) entre tous les côtés de
l’appareil et les murs.
• Afin d’éviter d’endommager l’appareil et
le risque de blessures, ne pas brancher
l’appareil dans une source d’alimentation
