1. Remove mount head from package:
2. Set Latude Range: An HAE18C has two latude
range sengs: 0~47° and 43~90°. The default seng
is 0~47° (front latude hole). You may change the
latude range based on your locaon or if an
altazimuth (AA) mode is desired. Slightly loosen
Altude Locking Knob. Use a at head screw driver to
remove the Latude Locking Pin. Adjust the mount so
that the hole on the brass latude eyebolt is aligned
to the high latude posion hole. Insert the Locking
Pin to secure it.
3. Set up tripod: An HAE18C mount uses -a 3/8” 16
threaded hole for aachment. So a camera tripod or
other tripod with a 3/8”-16 mounng post can be
used. Shown here is an iOptron carbon ber tripod
#8061/#8061A.
4. Aach mount head: Thread the mount head onto the
tripod head and secure it.
Level the mount by adjusng the tripod legs Use the .
built-in Bubble Level Indicator on the mount base or
an external leveler for this purpose.
5. Adjust latude: To adjust the latude, slightly loosen
the Altude Locking Knob. Use the Latude
Adjustment Knob to move the mount to the desired
latude by aligning the Latude Mark Line to the
Latude Scale. Tighten the Alt. Locking Knob.
6. Install telescope: An HAE18C mount accepts a Vixen
dovetail mounng plate.
Release the dovetail Saddle Locking Lever and slide
the telescope dove il plate into the saddle with Gear ta
Switch disengaged. Make sure that the arrow sign on
the saddle is poinng forward. Tighten the Saddle
Locking Lever.
