WARNING: Always follow the instructions and use
the appliance properly to avoid potential injury.
According to the instructions prescribed in this
user manual, use a soft damp cloth to clean the
surfaces in contact with food and make sure
to remove all the food residues stuck to the
appliance.
Don’t place the power cord under the appliance
Caution
CAUTION: Surface of the heating element is
subject to residual heat after use.
Never use any accessories or parts from other
manufacturers or that Philips does not specically
recommend. If you use such accessories or parts,
your guarantee becomes invalid.
Do not expose the appliance to high temperatures,
nor place it on a working or still hot stove or
cooker.
Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight.
Place the appliance on a stable, horizontal, and
level surface.
Always put the inner pot in the appliance before
you put the plug in the power outlet and switch
it on.
Do not place the inner pot directly over an open
re to cook rice.
Do not use the inner pot if it is deformed.
The accessible surfaces may become hot when the
appliance is operating. Take extra caution when
touching the appliance.
Beware of hot steam coming out of the steam vent
during cooking or out of the appliance when you
open the lid. Keep hands and face away from the
appliance to avoid the steam.
Do not lift and move the appliance while it is
operating.
Do not exceed the maximum water level indicated
in the inner pot to prevent overow which might
cause potential hazard.
Do not place the cooking utensils inside the pot
while cooking, keeping warm or reheating rice.
Only use the cooking utensils provided. Avoid
using sharp utensils.
Note
After the cooking process is started, press
Menu/Cancel to terminate the current cooking
process.
The level marked inside the inner pot is just
an indication; you can always adjust the water
level for dierent types of rice and your own
preference.
Besides following the water level indications,
you may also add rice and water at 1:(1.3-1.6)
ratio for rice cooking
To prevent the rice from clumping, loosen the
rice within 30 minutes.
Do not exceed the volume indicated nor exceed
the maximum water level indicated in the
inner pot, as this may cause the rice cooker to
overow and cause potential hazard.
Congee and soup
1 Put all ingredients into the innper pot.
2 Follow the steps in "Preparations before cooking".

1 Whisk the ingredients for cake well.
2 Coat the inner pot with some butter or cooking oil,
and then pour the ingredients into it.
3 Follow the steps in "Preparations before cooking".

6 When the cooking is nished, you will hear 4
beeps and the selected cooking function light will

7 Open the lid and carefully take out the inner pot
to cool down.
8 After the inner pot is cool down, put a plate or
cake rack on top of the pot, and then ip over to
take the cake out.
Preset time for delayed cooking
Notes
The preset function is not available for Cake
and Keep warm. The preset time is up to 24
hours.
The preset timer should be longer than cooking
time.
If you want to enjoy delicious rice after 8 hours,
set the preset time to 8 hours.

6 Cleaning and Maintenance
Notes
Unplug the Rice cooker before starting to clean
it.
Wait until the appliance has cooled down
suciently before cleaning.
Inner lid
Remove the inner lid that can be detached
from the top lid and clean it.
Soak the inner lid in warm water and wash it
with a sponge.
Remove all the food residues stuck to the
appliance.
Reattach the inner lid to the top lid.
Interior
Top lid and inside of the appliance:
Wipe with wrung out cloth.
Remove all the food residues stuck to the
appliance.
Heating element:
Wipe with wrung out cloth.
Remove all the food residues.
Exterior
Wipe with a cloth damped with soap water.
Only use soft and dry cloth to wipe the control
panel.
Make sure to remove all the food residues.
Accessories
Rice scoop and inner pot.
Soak in hot water and clean with sponge.

at an ocial collection point for recycling. By doing

Rice cooker and save it for future reference.

avoid spillage of the hot liquids.
This appliance is intended to be used in household
and similar applications such as:

This appliance features a power-failure memory
function that save the status prior to the power loss.

*Default cooking time means the default
cooking time displayed on the screen when the
corresponding function is selected. The appliance
cannot adjust the cooking time manually. The actual
cooking time may vary depending on the amount of
ingredients, amount of water, water temperature,
environment, etc.
**The Quick cook function is aected by factors such
as rice amount, water quantity, water temperature,
and environment, so the cooking time is not directly
displayed at the beginning of cooking process.
5 Using your rice cooker
Before rst use
1 Take out all the accessories from the inner pot.
Remove the packaging material of the inner pot.
2 Before rst use, boil water and clean the Rice
cooker.
3 Clean the parts of the Rice cooker thoroughly
before using it for the rst time (see chapter
“Cleaning and Maintenance”).
Notes
Make sure all parts are completely dry before
you start using the Rice cooker.
Preparations before cooking
Warning
Make sure the detachable inner lid is correctly
installed.
Notes
Do not exceed the maximum water level
indicated in the inner pot, as this may cause the
Rice cooker to overow.
The level marked inside the inner pot is just an
indication.
You can always adjust the water level for
dierent types of grains and your own
preference.
After the cooking process starts, you can Press
Menu/Cancel
to cancel the cooking ,the rice
cooker
will go to standby mode.
After the rice cooker is powered on, if there is no
operation within 5 minutes, the appliance will
go to standby mode, and the user can press any
key to re-activate the rice cooking.
Perform the following preparations before cooking
with the rice cooker:
1 Press the lid release button to open the rice
cooker.
2 Take out the inner pot.
3 Put the washed food into the innper pot, and
wipe o water outside of the inner pot with a soft
clean cloth, put it back into the appliance.
4 Close the lid.
5 put the plug in the power socket.

Note
Make sure that the outside of the inner pot is dry
and clean, and that there is no foreign residue
on the inside of the appliance.
Make sure the inner pot is in proper contact with
the heating element.
During or immediately after use, keep your body
away from steam vent to avoid burns.

2 Menu/Cancel Fast cook Press to choose ,

10 Troubleshooting
If you encounter problems when using this appliance, check the following points before requesting service. If
you cannot solve the problem, contact the Philips Consumer Care Center in your country.
Problem Solution
The light on the button does not
go on.
There is a connection problem. Check if the power cord is connected to
the rice cooker properly and if the plug is inserted rmly into the power
outlet.
The light is defective. Take the appliance to your Philips dealer or a service
center authorized by Philips.
The rice is not cooked.
There is not enough water. Add water according to the scale on the
inside of the inner pot.
Make sure that there is no foreign residue on the heating element and
the outside of the inner pot before switching the rice cooker on.
The heating element is damaged, or the inner pot is deformed. Take the
rice cooker to your Philips dealer or a service center authorized by Philips.
The rice is too hard, or not well
cooked.
Add more water into the rice or cook longer.
The appliance does not switch to
keep warm mode automatically.
The temperature control system has malfunction. Take the appliance to
your Philips dealer or a service center authorized by Philips.
During cooking,
There is water spilling in the rice
cooker.
Based on the rice amount and dierent types of rice, add the appropriate
amount of water according to the water level indication on the inner pot.
Rice smells bad after cooking
Use the cleaning agent and warm water to clean the inner pot.
After cooking, make sure the steam vent cap, inner lid and inner pot are
cleaned thoroughly. Clean the inner pot with some washing detergent and
warm water.
E1, E2, E3 or E4 displays on the
screen.
The rice cooker has malfunction. Take the appliance to your Philips dealer
or a service center authorized by Philips.
