Information

Purpose

• For sewing in zippers.

• For stitching edges.

• For sewing on thin edging and braid.

For your safety

Before using this accessory, please read the instruction manual at hand as

well as the instruction manual of your machine carefully.

Application

Sewing in plastic zippers

> Engage BERNINA Dual Feed.

> Select straight stitch no.1.

> Set the stitch width to 0.

> Set the stitch length to 2–3.

> Set the feed dog to the sewing position.

> Baste the zipper under the fabric so that the fabric edges meet over the

center of the zipper. (Fig.1)

> Open the zipper a few centimeters.

> Set the needle to the right or left position so that the needle stitches close

to the zipper teeth and the presser foot guide is at the center of the folded

edge.

> Start sewing at the top.

> Stop in front of the zipper pull with the needle stop down.

> Raise the presser foot and close the zipper.

> Continue sewing up to the closed seam and stop after a few more stitches

with the needle stop down.

> Raise the presser foot and turn the fabric.

> Sew up to the other side of the zipper and stop with the needle stop

down.

> Raise the presser foot and turn the fabric.

> Sew the second side from bottom to top in the same way as the first side.

Sewing in metal zippers

> Sew the first side as with the plastic zipper up to the stopper and sew up

the seam at the end.

> Set the needle position to the opposite side.

> Sew the second side from top to bottom up to the stopper in the same

way as the first side and sew up the seam at the end.

Tip

> Overcast the edges before sewing in the zipper.
