Operating instructions:
The ERS model scale operates on 6xAA batteries, or a 9-volt power supply (part #PS5005). The scale has an
automatic power off feature. (Which can be programmed to 120 sec., 240 sec., 360 sec., 720 sec., or off) If a
battery is used, the scale will shut off after the programmed time if no weighing operation is performed.
To install the batteries, turn the scale display over, open the battery box, install 6xAA batteries (observing
polarity), and close the cover. If the power supply is used, push the power supply tip into the jack orifice,
making sure the two pieces are properly aligned for a tight seal.
Turn on the scale by depressing the "on/off" switch. Scale readout will show all 8's for approximately 5
seconds and then the zero reading. If the scale is overloaded, a series of horizontal lines will be displayed. If
a load is placed on the scale platform, the weight of this load is shown on the scale display in the units in
which the scale is weighing. You can change the weighing mode by pressing the "Hold/Mode" button.
This load can now be "tared out" i.e. shown as zero on the scale display, by depressing the "Tare" button. If
an additional load is then placed on the platform, the weight of this additional load can also be "tared out" by
depressing the "Tare" button. This tare operation can be repeated up to the capacity of the scale.
If the total load is now removed from the platform, the weight of the total load will be shown as a negative
value on the scale display. This negative value can now be removed from the display by depressing the
"Tare" button. Depressing the "on/off' button at any time will turn the scale off.
To use the "Hold" button, place weight on the platform, then press the "Hold" button until the weight starts
blinking. Release the button, and remove the weight from the platform the display. The values will still show
the amount that was on the platform. To remove, just press the "Tare" button and the display returns to zero.

Other Scale Options
To enter the calibration mode, perform the following steps:
1) With the scale in the off position, press and hold both the "TARE" and "HOLD/MODE" keys, and
then press the "ON/OFF" key, the display shows "CAL".
2) Press the "TARE" key and the display will read "CAL 0".

flashes on the display (ERS-60 is 10.0 Kg / ERS-150 is 25.0 Kg / ERS-300 is 50.0 Kg)
4) Place the correct calibration weight gently on the platform. When calibration is complete, the scale
will briefly display "CAL F" and then return to the weighing mode. You may re-zero the scale by
pressing the "TARE" key.
If no weight is placed on the platform the scale will return to the normal weighing mode after 15 seconds. Note:
If "CAL E" appears, this indicates that a calibration error has occurred and the calibration process must be
repeated. "CAL E" can occur when the calibration steps are not followed in the correct order or due to the
addition of an incorrect calibration weight. "CAL E" will remain on the display until the scale is shut off
using the "ON/OFF" key and the scale will revert to the previous calibration settings. The calibration
procedure must be repeated in order to change the scale calibration settings.
