Thank you, and congratulations on your choice of the Roland EV-5

Expression Pedal. To ensure proper operation and years of trouble-

free service, please take the time to read through this Owner’s

Manual before starting out.

FEATURES

The EV-5 is an Expression Pedal designed to be used with a

keyboard, allowing more dynamic performance. You can set the

minimum volume to any level you like, thereby freely determine the

maximum eect of the pedal depending on the type of music or

the performance you are aiming at.

OPERATION

Set up the EV-5 with the keyboard as shown in “CONNECTION”.

Press the pedal down as far as it goes, and set the maximum

volume using the volume knobs of the keyboard.

Return the position of the pedal to the highest position, and

set the minimum volume by using the Minimum Volume Knob

on the EV-5. (The Minimum Volume Knob does not aect the

maximum volume.)

Now, you can control the volume by using the pedal within

the range between the maximum and the minimum volume

you have set.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Do not subject the unit to temperature extremes (eg., direct

sunlight in an enclosed vehicle). Avoid using or storing the unit

in dusty or humid areas, or areas that are subject to high levels

of vibration.

For everyday cleaning wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth or

one that has been slightly dampened with water. To remove

stubborn dirt, use a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Afterwards,

be sure to wipe the unit thoroughly with a soft, dry cloth.

Never use benzine, thinners, alcohol or solvents of any kind, to

avoid the possibility of discoloration and/or deformation.

Protect the unit from strong impact.

Do not allow objects or liquids of any kind to penetrate the

unit. In the event of such an occurrence, discontinue use

immediately.

Contact qualied service personnel as soon as possible.

Should a malfunction occur, or if you suspect there is a

problem, discontinue use immediately. Contact qualied

service personnel as soon as possible.
