お買い上げの製品をご家庭用として、取扱説明や接続・注意書きに沿ったご使用において、故障
や品質不良が発生した場合は、お買い上げ日より1年間を製品保証期間として無料修理(製品
により無料代替)をさせていただきます。ただし、消耗・摩耗した部品(ヘッドホンのイヤパッドやイ

Safety precautions
Although this product was designed to be used safely, failing to use it correctly may result in an accident.
Be sure to follow the instructions below to prevent accidents. Note that the following instructions refer to
our in-vehicle products in general, so some of them may not apply to the product you purchased.

Only for vehicles with 12 VDC, negative ground
Do not use on 24-V vehicles. Doing so may
result in malfunction or fire.
• If opening a hole in the chassis for
installation, avoid positions that are unsafe or
may damage pipes, tanks, or electric wiring

–Locations subject to excessive vibration,
– Locations that are unstable and cannot be
secured,

Notes on use
• Be sure to read the connected device's user manual before use.
• Fully insert the plugs of cables when connecting them.
• When using a USB connection, connect the product directly to the device. Do not use a
USB hub.
• Do not connect any device except a USB memory to the USB input terminal.
• The maximum capacity of USB memory that can be connected to a USB input terminal is
1 TB (for a total of 2 TB).
• Do not connect any device except our AT-HRD500, AT-HRD5, or AT-HRD1 to the USB
output terminal.
• Audio-Technica is not liable in the event of a loss of data from a device that is connected
by USB to the product.
• Smartphones and other devices cannot be charged at the USB terminals of the product.
• Install the product away from the vehicle's harnesses to avoid interference by external noise.
• Install the light receiver of the remote control light receiver cable in a location that is not
subject to direct sunlight.
• To transmit data at high sampling rates (176.4 kHz or 192 kHz), you need a square-type
optical digital cable (sold separately) capable of high-accuracy data transmission. PCM
352.8 kHz, 384 kHz, DSD 64, DSD 128 are converted to PCM 192 kHz, and then output.
The condition of the shape of the tip of optical fibers aects data transmission, so refer
to the following when using square-type optical digital cables.

If the in-vehicle monitor that is connected uses
PAL format, press and hold the Settings button
(for about 2 seconds). The "AV-RCA Image format
adjustment" changes from "NTSC" to "PAL".

Battery is not included. Purchase a commercially
available coin-type lithium battery (CR2032).
Connection procedure
• Be sure to read the connected device's user manual before use.
• Before using the product, check for the latest firmware on our Audio-Technica website.
For details about how to check for and update firmware, refer to the user manual.
• Minimize the volume on the various input and output devices before connecting them.
• Note that the product is specified for 12-V vehicles only. It can only be connected to 12-V
vehicles.
• Before installing the product, be sure to confirm that the indicator lamp lights and
operates.
1. Before connecting the product, take the engine key out of the ignition and disconnect the
battery cables from the vehicle's battery. First remove the negative (-) cable, and then remove the
positive (+) cable.
2. Use a power cable, which is sold separately, to connect to the power supply terminals (+12 V,
ACC, and GND) of the product as shown below.
12 V : The power cable is always energized
Be sure to install a 2-A fuse (sold separately) for the power cable.
ACC : Connect to the accessory power cable* (ON/OFF) from the vehicle.
Be sure to install a 1-A fuse (sold separately) for the power cable.
*This wire is supplied by the 12-V battery when the vehicle's engine key is in the "ON" or "ACC" position
GND : Connect to the battery's negative terminal* or a metal part of the vehicle that acts as
a ground.
*Connect this to the battery's negative terminal in step 6.

3. Connect the remote control light receiver cable provided to the remote control light receiver
cable terminal.
4. Connect the video cable to the in-vehicle monitor.
HDMI output and RCA output cannot be output at the same time. Connect the video cable to
just one of the output terminals.
For monitors that support HDMI
Connect an HDMI cable (sold separately) to a monitor that supports HDMI input.
For monitors that support RCA
Connect the RCA video cables to a monitor that supports RCA input.
5. Connect the audio cable.
When using the HDMI output terminal
Audio is also output from the HDMI cable that was connected in step 4.
On the menu on screen, go to "SETTING" > "Select audio output" and then select "HDMI output".
When using the USB output terminal
Connect a USB cable (sold separately) that is equal or better than USB 2.0 to the USB input
terminal on our AT-HRD500, AT-HRD5, or AT-HRD1.
On the menu on screen, go to "SETTING" > "Select audio output" and then select "USB output".
When using the coaxial digital or square-type optical digital output terminal
Connect a coaxial digital cable (sold separately) or a square-type optical digital cable (sold
separately) to the digital input terminal of a digital signal processor that supports an SPDIF or
AT-HRD500.
On the menu on screen, go to "SETTING" > "Select audio output" and then select "General output".
When using an analog audio output terminal
Connect the RCA audio cable (sold separately) to the external input terminal of the car audio
or car navigation device.
On the menu on screen, go to "SETTING" > "Select audio output" and then select "General output".

6. Connect the battery cable that you disconnected in step 1. Connect the positive (+) cable, and
then the negative (-) cable.
7. Put the vehicle's engine key in the "ON" or "ACC" position, and confirm that the product operates
correctly.
