CHARGING UP THE
BATTERY
Please Note!
■ Do not charge on a computer
because the high charging current
could damage the computer.
■ To connect it to a plug socket, a USB
mains adapter (5 V DC and ≥ 1 A;
not supplied with the product) is re-
quired. Only connect it
to a properly
installed plug socket. The plug sock-
et must be readily accessible after
connection so that the connection
to the mains can quickly be isolated.
Charging by Daylight
• Place the LED lamp in a location
where the solar panel (2) can absorb
as much direct sunlight as possible.
Charging with Dynamo Crank
Handle
• Fold out the dynamo crank han-
dle(4) and turn it evenly at around
2 revolutions per second to charge
the battery.
L
Turning the crank handle for
5minutes produces approx.
10minutes of light.
A full battery charge produces
approx. 2.5 – 3 hours of light.
Charging with USB Cable
• First plug the USB cable that is also
supplied into the charging socket
and then connect it to a power
source with a USB interface. The
charging process begins and the
control lamp is lit red.
• After approx. 2hours the battery is
fully charged and the control lamp is
lit green.
Disconnect the USB cable from the
power source and then from the
charging socket.

Switching the Light On / Off
• Press theOn / Off switch(7) to switch
the LED lamp on / off.
Operating the Radio
• Turn the On / Off switch(8) clockwise
to switch on the radio / increase the
volume.
• Turn the On / Off switch(8) anticlock-
wise to switch off the radio / reduce
the volume.
• Briefly press one of the buttons(9 / 10)
to search for the previous/ next
station.
L
The station is not saved when
the radio is switched off and
must be searched for again
when it is switched back on.
CLEANING & STORAGE
• Keep the solar panel clean so that
the greatest possible absorption
of light is ensured. Wipe down the
solar panel (and if necessary also
the remaining components of the
product) with a damp cloth.
• When it is not in use, you should
store the product in a dry, clean
location which is out of the reach of
children and animals.
• During a lengthy period of stor-
age, check the charge status of
the battery regularly and recharge
the battery if necessary in order to
prevent a deep discharge.
DISPOSAL
Dispose of the packaging
material in an environmentally
friendly manner so that it can be
recycled.
The adjacent symbol (crossed-
out bin underlined) means that
used devices should not be dis-
posed of in the domestic waste,
but should instead be taken to
special collection and return
systems.
Owners of used devices must re-
move from the used device any
used batteries or rechargeable
batteries which are not encapsu-
lated by the used device and can
be removed in a non-destructive
way and dispose of them sep-
arately (see also the section on
battery disposal).
Owners of used devices from
private households can take
them free of charge to the
collection points of the public
waste disposal authorities or the
disposal points which are set up
by manufacturers and distribu-
tors under the Electrical Equip-
ment Act so that they can be
disposed of in an environmental-
ly friendly way and valuable raw
materials can be recovered. If
they are not disposed of proper-
ly, toxic ingredients may escape
into the environment and cause
harm to the health of humans,
animals and plants. Businesses
which market electrical and elec-
tronic devices are also obliged
to take back used devices.
(Rechargeable) batteries must
not be disposed of along with
the household waste. Consum-
ers are legally obliged to dis-
pose of (rechargeable) batteries
separately.
(Rechargeable) batteries can
be handed in free of charge at
a collection point of the local
authority/district or in retailers
so that they can be disposed of
in an environmentally friendly
way and valuable raw materials
can be recovered. If they are
not disposed of properly, toxic
ingredients may escape into the
environment and cause harm to
the health of humans, animals
and plants.
Only dispose of (rechargea-
ble) batteries when they are
discharged. If possible, use
rechargeable batteries rather
than single-use batteries.
In the case of (rechargeable)
batteries containing lithium,
tape over the poles before you
dispose of them to prevent a
short circuit. A short circuit may
cause a fire or explosion.
Waste prevention makes an even
more valuable contribution to pro-
tecting the environment. This means
if possible, as well as continuing
to use or repair a device yourself,
passing it on to another user also
represents an ecologically beneficial
alternative to disposal.
Batterien und Akkus dürfen nicht
zusammen mit dem Hausmüll
entsorgt werden. Verbraucher
sind gesetzlich dazu verpflichtet,
Batterien und Akkus einer ge-
trennten Sammlung zuzuführen.
Batterien und Akkus können un-
entgeltlich bei einer Sammelstel-
le der Gemeinde / des Stadtteils
oder im Handel abgegeben wer-
den, damit sie einer umweltscho-
nenden Entsorgung sowie einer
Wiedergewinnung von wertvollen
Rohstoffen zugeführt werden
können. Bei einer unsachgemä-
ßen Entsorgung können giftige
Inhaltsstoffe in die Umwelt ge-
langen, die gesundheitsschädi-
gende Wirkungen auf Menschen,
Tiere und Pflanzen haben.
Batterien und Akkus nur in entla-
denem Zustand abgeben. Wenn
möglich wiederaufladbare Batte-
rien anstelle von Einwegbatterien
verwenden.
Bei lithiumhaltigen Batterien
und Akkus vor der Entsorgung
die Pole abkleben, um einen
Kurzschluss zu vermeiden. Ein
Kurzschluss kann zu einem Brand
oder einer Explosion führen.
Die Abfallvermeidung leistet ei-
nen noch wertvolleren Beitrag zum
Umweltschutz. Sofern möglich, ist
daher neben einer weiteren eigenen
Nutzung oder Reparatur auch die Ab-
gabe an Zweitnutzer eine ökologisch
wertvolle Alternative zur Entsorgung.
