Congratulations on your purchase of the J Mascis Ram’s Head Big Muff, a faithful

reproduction of the highly coveted 1973 Violet Ram’s Head Big Muff heard on

countless classic recordings and famous guitar solos. It delivers the unmistakable,

articulate string separation and exceptional sustain that’s made the V2 Big Muff so

sought after. Now with a few choice updates for convenience including true bypass

switching, an LED to indicate effe eing powered by a 9-ct status and the option of b

volt AC adapter.

VOLUME Con

trol – Sets the output level

TONE Control – Provides a range of sounds from high treble to deep bass. As you

turn the knob clockwise the treble increases and bass decreases.

SUSTAIN Control – Adjusts the amount of sustain and distortion

Footswitch & Status LED – Use the footswitch to toggle between effect and

bypass. The device is active when the LED is lit. When the LED is off, the pedal is in

true bypass.

IN Jack – Plug the output of your instrument or another effects pedal into the ¼” IN

jack. The input impedance presented at this jack is 117kΩ.

OUT Jack – Connect the device’s ¼” OUT jack to the input of your amplifier or

another effects pedal. When the device is in bypass, the OUT jack is connected

directly to the IN jack. The output impedance is nominally 25kΩ.

The device ma

y be powered from a 9V battery or an optional 9VDC AC Adapter such

as the EHX9.6DC-200 or any Boss

or Ibanez

style AC adapters capable of

delivering at least 30mA. Plug the output of the adapter into the 9V power jack

located at the top of the pedal. The battery may be left in or taken out when using an

AC Adapter. The current draw is approximately 2.0mA at 9VDC.

Please Note: Using the wrong adapter or a plug with the wrong polarity

may damage your device and void the warranty.

nging the Battery

To change the 9V battery, remove the device. Take off the 4 screws on the bottom of

the bottom plate and change the battery. Avoid touching the circuit board while the

bottom plate is off. Replace the bottom plate and screws.

The CE logo indicates that this product has been tested and shown to conform with all

applicable European Conformity directives.

The WEEE or “trashcan” logo indicates that this product is made up of electronic

components that should not be trashed alongside household waste but instead should

repair or replace, at its discretion, a product that fails to operate due to defects in

materials or workmanship for a period of one year from date of purchase. This

applies only to original purchasers who have bought their product from an authorized

Electro-Harmonix retailer. Repaired or replaced units will then be warranted for the

unexpired portion of the original warranty term.

below, please contact EHX Customer Service for information on warranty repairs at

info@ehx.com or +1-718-937-8300. USA and Canadian customers: please obtain a

Return Authorization Number (RA#) from EHX Customer Service before returning

your product. Include   with your returned unit a written description of the problem

as well as your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, RA# and a copy of

your receipt clearly showing the purchase date.
