Installation Guide

Unpacking

Unpack the items. Your package should include:

 One EXT1100 PoE Extender

 Wall and DIN-Rail mounting hardware

brackets

If items are missing or damaged, notify your

EtherWAN representative. Keep the carton and

packing material.

Equipment Needed

 Category 5e or better cable for RJ-45 ports

 PoE source for power

Select a Location

 DIN-rail installations: Attach the bracket on

the unit using the included screws and then

mount on a DIN-rail.

 Wall installations: Attach the brackets on the

unit using the included screws and then

mount on a wall.

 Identify a power source within 328 feet (100

meters).

 Choose a dry area with ambient temperature

between -40 and 75ºC (-40 and 167ºF).

 Keep away from heat sources, sunlight, warm

air exhausts, hot-air vents, and heaters.

 Make sure there is adequate airflow.

Connect to the Ports

The EXT1100 has the following ports:

 1 10/100/1000 Mbps 90W PoE in port

 1 10/100/1000 Mbps 60W PoE out port

1 10/100/1000 Mbps PD port

Port 1 is a PD PoE port that allows for up

to PoE power in. 90W

1 10/100/1000 Mbps PSE port

Port 2 is a PSE PoE port that allows for up to 60W

PoE power out.

Connect Power

PD Port

This unit is powered via PoE using the first RJ-45

slot. It takes up to 90W PoE power and outputs

up to 60W PoE power through the second RJ-45

slot.

Green ON = PD power detected

OFF = PD not detected

PoE

OUT

Green ON = PSE is detected, and

PD is detected

Off = No PSE detected

LINK Green ON = TX port is detected

Flashing = TX port is active

OFF = TX port is not detected

SPD Amber ON = 1000Mbps mode

OFF = 10/100Mbps mode
