Tohelpensurepropercoolingandsystemreliability,strictlyfollowtheseguidelines:
•Eachofthedrivebayshasadriveoradummytrayinstalled;orthereisanelectromagneticinterface(EMI)
protectivepanelorEMIshieldinstalledtoprotectthedrivecage.
•Leaveadequatespacearoundtheservertoensurethattheservercoolingsystemworkswell.Leave
approximately50mm(2inches)ofopenspacearoundthefrontandrearoftheserver.Donotplace
objectsinfrontofthefans.Forpropercoolingandairflow,installtheservercoverbeforeyouturnon
theserver.Operatingtheserverforextendedperiodsoftime(morethan30minutes)withtheserver
coverremovedmightdamageservercomponents.
•Properlyroutethecables.Forsomeoptions,suchasPCIcards,followthecablinginstructionsthatcome
withtheoptionsinadditiontotheinstructionsinthismanual.
•Ifyourserverhasairductsorairbaffles,donotremovethemwhiletheserverisrunning.Operatingthe
serverwithouttheairductsorairbafflesmightcausethemicroprocessorstooverheat.
•Forserversthatsupportuptotwomicroprocessors,ensurethatthesecondmicroprocessorsocket
alwayscontainsamicroprocessororisprotectedbyamicroprocessorsocketcover.
